Your Creative Connection 111: Creative Tags

600 pixels

Hello friends. We are back for another creative showcase with my global demonstrator friends. This week, out theme is 'Tag, You're It'. When I think of tags, my mind usually goes to vintage tags, or Christmas tags. This time I have created a vintage tag using some of my favourite floral and vintage Stampin' Up! products.

Vintage tag using Very Versailles and Tasteful Textures Stampin Up stamp sets. Tag by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

I started with a 2" wide piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and have used the Delightful Tag Topper Punch (links to all the products I have used today are at the end of the post). I sponged the edges and then layered images from the Very Versailles stamp set, using Crumb Cake ink. I just love this stamp set for vintage floral imagery.

Very Versailles stamp set Stampin' Up!

The flowers are from Tasteful Textures stamp set, and were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon and then watercoloured with a mix of Rococo Rose, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss. I used my Early Espresso marker for some additional highlights at the end.

My sentiment is from Very Versailles and I used the script stamp on the background of the sentiment strips as well (plus some additional Crumb Cake sponging). The Champagne Rhinestones are a great colour for adding  to vintage projects for a little bling, and I have also used some In Good Taste wooden elements.

Finally I have used the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack for top of the tag. I really love the texture in this trim combo and they are easily frayed for more of a vintage look.

Now it's time to head to our lovely friend Dawn Olchefske in Minneapolis, USA and see her tag themed project.

Your Creative Connection 110: Hey Dude

600 pixels

Hey crafty people! It's time for another global Your Creative Connection Showcase #YCC110. This month our theme is Hey Dude, as in masculine cards. This was perfect timing for me, as one of my son's needed a birthday card for a mate this week. He likes to fish and also hang out at the river, so I wanted to incorporate water somehow. This new DSP (the blue waves one) is from Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper (all the links for products I have used today are at the end of the post), and was perfect to represent the ocean.

Stampin Up A Good Man and Many Mates stamp set. 2020 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I used one of the 4 patterns of the Sahara Sand DSP from the new 6x6" Neutrals paper pack as the sand. The stamped image is from A Good Man stamp set which I'm so glad has carried over to this years 2020 Annual Catalogue, because it's a favourite of mine to watercolour. I just picked up the colours from the DSP (Pacific Point and Sahara Sand) and added in Crumb Cake for some watercolouring, and Early Espresso for the greeting.

Stampin Up A Good Man and Many Mates stamp set. 2020 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I've used a new greeting set on this card. It's called Many Mates, and I love it! It's new in this year's 2020 Annual Catalogue and has sentiments for the outside and inside of cards, plus great modern fonts. It's perfect for a wide variety of cards. I used the 'I'm glad your were born' sentiment inside the card as it seemed like the kind of random thing teen boys might jokingly say to each other.

I'm looking forward to see what my demonstrator friends around the world have done with today's masculine theme. First up it's time to visit Dawn Olchefske in Minnesota, USA.

Your Creative Connection 109: Something Old, Something New

600 pixels

Welcome back to another showcase with the global Your Creative Connection team. Today our theme is 'Something Old, Something New', which is perfect timing with the release last week of the NEW 2020/21 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. For my NEW, I have chosen two of the new Stampin' Up! 2020-22 In Colors as well as the new Flowers for Every Season Memories and More Card Pack. For my OLD, I have chosen  the Stitched So Sweetly dies which first featured in the 2020 January to June mini catalogue.

NEW Stampinup Flowers for Every Season | Misty Moonlight | Memories and More Cardpack | Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia | 2020

I really like the crisp fresh colour combination I have used today which is three of the new 2020-22 In Colors: Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Bumble Bee and Whisper White. My base card is Misty Moonlight, and there is a Just Jade layer in there too. The Bumble Bee colour comes from one of the elements included in the Memories and More Card Pack.

Claire Daly Creates Stampin' Up! Colour Combination (5)

The Flowers for Every Season DSP and Flowers for Every Season Memories and More Card Pack (links at the bottom of the post) are really great because they coordinate with ALL five of the new 2020-22 InColors. You will find great versatility with these two products. The cardstock weight flower stickers are included in the Memories and More Card Pack, and they coordinate really well with all the colours. The Stitched So Sweetly dies are also a really versatile product because there are so many ways you can layer them. Check out all the products below my signature in the links. The greeting I have used is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, which is also linked below.

Your Creative Connection #108: Love is in the Air

600 pixels

Hello lovely crafters from around the world. Welcome back to another Your Creative Connection Global Showcase. Today's theme was chosen by Barbara Meyer and is 'Love Is in the Air'. I love being a part of this showcase with these amazingly talented global demonstrators!

I've chosen the Silhouette Scenes stamp set, and one of the new 2020-22 Stampin' Up! In Colours for my card today.

Silhouette Scenes 'love' card for #YCC108. 2020 Stampin Up card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

When I first started playing with Cinnamon Cider, the new 2020 In Colour I have used as my base card today, I really struggled. Now I totally LOVE the colour. It's such a great warm neutral and coordinates well with many colours. Here's today's colour combination.

Stampin Up In Color 2020 combination Cinnamon Cider, with Early Espresso, Gray Granite and Purple Posy

I have used the Detailed Hearts Die in two ways to create the extra elements on my card. I embossed the Early Espresso cardstock strip using the die, and then I cut the die from Purple Posy cardstock to give me lots the little hearts (plus the base section and lots of leftovers for another project).

Your Creative Showcase #107: To Bling or not to Bling?

600 pixelsHello papercrafters from aroung the world! Today the YCC crew are bringing you projects with their own versions of bling (or maybe no bling? - we will have to wait and see!).

I would describe myself as a 'subtle blinger'. I do like a bit of bling on my cards, but it tends to be in a subtle way, as opposed to glitter and glimmer. For me I like the shiny bits to be in the form of foiled papers, foil cardstock and a few rhinestones or shiny embellishments here and there.

Here's today's card to demonstrate my preferred 'bling level'!

Parisian Beauty and Ornate Layers 2020 Split Panel Card Stampin Up - Claire Daly, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. YCC#107

I have used the retiring Parisian Beauty bundle and Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper (both now only available while stocks last on until June 2nd) to make this split panel card. The paper has a subtle champagne foiled script running through it and I have carried that through by die cutting the Eiffel Tower in champagne foild cardstock as well.

Parisian Beauty and Ornate Layers 2020 Split Panel Card Stampin Up - Claire Daly, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. YCC#107

The frame is cut from the NEW Ornate Layers Dies, which a part of the Ornate Garden Suite and available now to purchase early from the 2020 Annual Catalogue. The flower is die cut from the Parisian Blossoms DSP and also has some of the champagne foiling on it. To complete the embellishing I added a flourish from the Parisian Dies, and three Champagne Rhinestones (yeah - these are carrying over to the new catalogue). My greeting is from Itty Bitty Greetings, a really versatile set when you just need a small greeting. You can view all the products I have used today using the links at the end of the post.

Now it's time to visit my clever stamping friends around the world to see how much bling they like to dial up on the 'blingometer'. First up is Dawn Olchefske in Minnesota USA.
