Wedding Card using Stampin' Up! Love Story Project Life for Stamping and Blogging

Today's share shows a different way to use some of the Project Life cards from Stampin' Up!. I have created a wedding card using the beautiful Love Story card collection and based on this weeks sketch from Stamping and Blogging.

Stampin Up Love Story Project Life Wedding Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Australia

I have to be honest and say I found this week's sketch a little tricky. I just felt I needed another shape to break up the rectangles, so I cut a heart from the cardstock vellum and added that. I find this a subtle way to add a layer. I was much happier when the vellum heart was in place.I have listed al the products I have used in this week's card in the links below.

Here is the sketch that Sandi gave us to work with this week.

I'm really looking forward to see what the fabulous Stamping and Blogging girls around the world have done with this sketch. A couple of the girls are having a little break this week, but still plenty of inspiration! Hop on over to their blogs and have a look. Such fabulous talented ladies and viewing their creations each week is so inspiring to me.

Totally love all the Vintage yumminess in the new Stampin' Up! Seasonal Catalogue for 2013!

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE vintage, so when I opened the pages of the new Stampin' Up! Seasonal Catalogue which starts tomorrow I was in stamping dreamland!

The first thing I HAD to play with was the very vintage Artisan Embellishment Kit and the very on trend Stampin' Up! Honeycomb Embossing Folder.

More Amore DSP Stampin Up

I have also used the More Amore DSP and the Primrose Petal coordinations cardstock (it's available in Real Red and Pool Party in this catalogue too!)

Here's 3 some quick stamping tips to get the vintage look:

  • Go for lots of texture. You can get this with embossing and using different materials like lace and twine and buttons.
  • Distress. You can achieve this by inking edges, sanding (such as I have done over the honeycomb embossing) tearing and crumbling up materials like Doileys and DSP and then straightening them by hand before you adhere them.
  • Layer in a haphazard way. You want little bits tucked in here and there and nothing looking too perfect. Great for those who are straight line challenged like me!

Here's some quick links to all that going on with Stampin' Up! at the moment:

Have a great day and be back tomorrow :)

Stampin' Up! Love and Laughter Wedding Cards .....

This weekend I have been creating some handmade wedding cards. I don't have a wedding to go to until later in the year, but I wanted to play with the Love and Laughter stamp set and matching Wedding Words jumbo wheel from the Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue.

I went for a subtle colour combination of Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray, Whisper White and silver embossing. I tried to make these clean and simple, with a little bling! For this one I have used Dazzling Diamonds on the Heart and Irridescent Ice embossing powder on the wheeled area to create some sparkle. I love how perfectly the Pink Pirouette ribbon matches my wheeled cardstock. My favourite reason for creating with Stampin' Up! products.

Wedding 1

For this one I have just clear embossed the wheeled image with clear embossing powder for a different subtle look. The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch gives a nice subtle border here too. Perfect for elegant wedding cards.

Some stamping tips when recreating these cards:

  • The embossing buddy is a must! Rub it over your cardstock before wheeling to make sure the embossing powder goes exactly where you want it to.
  • Irridescent Ice gives a subtle glitter embossed finish without needing to use Heat and Stick Powder.
  • The BigShot Multipuporse adhesive sheets are perfect for adding Dazzling Diamonds to punched or die cut shapes. It gives a really uniform coating which I love.
