I wanted to let you kno0w about a new kit! The GORGEOUS Birthday Organiser Kit available in the Kits Collection from today.
It's so lovely! The kit includes the organiser and monthly stickers, as well as everything you need to make 12 cards so you will be off to a great start with your planning. The soft colours and design are so pretty. This would make an awesome Christmas present for someone too. You could either make the cards up and give that as a gift, or give to a crafty person to make up themselves.
There's also this video which shows our CEO Sara, introducing the kit.
Finally, here's the October Host Code again in case you want to do any shopping today. Thanks for checking in and I will see you back here again within the next couple of days.
Today I have a bright and happy birthday card for you, featuring two stamp sets from the 2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue: Sending Smiles and Bottled Happiness. My card also features two different ways to use masking.
I really like this bright and happy colour combination with the crisp white.
The first place I have used the masking technique is to create the illusion of the stem of the flower being inside the bottle. I have a video showing you these techniques and I will I will link to this below. Here's a description of what I did though: I stamped the bottle from Bottled Happiness in Orchid Oasis, and then stamped one onto masking paper and cut that out to cover the stamped image. Then I stamped the stem of the flower 'into' the bottle. Once the masking paper is removed, only the stem above the bottle is showing.
The second masking technique was used on the sentiment. As you can see below, the Sending Smiles stamp set has lots of sentiment strips. You can also make additional sentiments by masking part of the sentiments and combining with others. In my card I masked off the 'big hugs' words from the 'love & big hugs' sentiment. I also masked off 'smiles' in the 'smiles across the miles' sentiment. The video below shows you in more detail how I did this.
Here's the masking video. There are 5 different cards featured in the video, but the instruction for this one starts at 17:03.
I hope you like today's card. You can find all of the products I have used in my online store, or the paper copy of the Annual Catalogue. I'm back with Claire's Pack of Pretties this month - a coordinated collection of my favourite Stampin' Up! papercraft products for a great price! This months kit is all about masculine cards and is only $31 including postage! It is built around the He's the Man Suite in the 2022-23 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue (Note: I have changed the name from 'Claire's Box of Pretties' to 'Claire's Pack of Pretties' to reflect a change in the packaging so I can keep the postage as low as possible).
You can get all the details HERE of exactly what's included in the August pack, which optional add-on products I think are a great match, and how to register and pay. Registrations close August 10th. As this kit is physical product, it's limited to Australian residents, but hobby demonstrators are also welcome to register if you just want a share of the suite at a lower price.
This masculine thank you card uses the He's the Man DSP (in pack), die cuts (in pack), Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Gems (in pack) and a sentiment from Wildlife Wonder stamp set (optional add on). The base cardstock is Sahara sand (in pack), the greeting is stamped in Early Espresso ink (optional add on) and I used Stylish Shapes dies (a great all round versatile die set with 3 different stitched shapes - see links at end of post) to die cut a circle from one of the labels in the die cut sheet included with the DSP.
This masculine birthday card uses the He's the Man DSP (in pack), Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Gems (in pack), twine from Bakers Twine Essentials Pack and a sentiment and image from Wildlife Wonder stamp set (optional add on). Base card is Early Espresso (in pack) and stamping is in Early Espresso ink (optional add-on).
This masculine birthday card is for the car lovers and was quick and easy. It uses He's the Man DSP (in pack), Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Gems (in pack), and the He's All That bundle (optional add-on). The image from the stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso onto Sahara Sand cardstock (I was out of reinker when I stamped this - fixed now!). The base card for this one is Sahara Sand (in pack).
This masculine birthday card was another quick and easy one. It uses the He's the Man DSP (in pack), He's the man die cuts (in pack), and the Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Gems (in pack) . The base cardstock is Sahara Sand (in pack), and I used Stylish Shapes dies (a great all round versatile die set with 3 different stitched shapes - see links at end of post) to die cut the two flag end banners (under the die cut) from the DSP.
This final card is one I made a little while ago in my video tutorial demonstrating how to use masking paper. It uses the Campology stamp set (optional add-on), the He's the Man DSP (in pack), the Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Gems (in pack) and the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack. The base cardstock is Mint Macaron (in pack), with some early Espresso cardstock (in pack) as a mat. I have used Mint Macaron ink pad (optional add-on) to stamp the trees (I added some Garden Green highlights with a marker), and stamped the tent in Black Stazon before watercolouring with Early Espresso ink pad, Crumb Cake ink pad and Water Painters. The video shows you how I used masking paper to position the tent in front of the trees (this card demonstration starts at 2:19 in the video).
I hope you like these masculine cards. Pin this image so you can come back to it, and please consider registering for the He's the Man August Pack of Pretties (starting at just $31 including postage) so you can recreate some of these projects at home. Registrations close August 10th (Australian residents only).
If you would like to view the video demonstrating how to use masking paper, here it is (the demonstration of the card above starts at 2:19).

Today I have a watercolour card for you, as it's World Watercolour Month. My birthday card uses the Happiness Abounds stamp set, which was new in the 2022 Annual Catalogue in May.
I've also used a couple of other new Annual Catalogue products: Hues of Happiness DSP, and the Fabulous Frames Dies. My flowers are embossed in white embossing powder onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, and then water coloured using Water Painters and the ink inside the lid of my Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia ink pads. The leaves are water coloured the same way using Granny Apple Green ink pad.
My base card and frame are basic White cardstock, and I have stamped the sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set in Black Stazon onto Basic White as well. I just chopped it in half to keep the dimensions of the card how I wanted. The embellishments I have used are the Polished Pink ones from the 2021-2023 InColor Opal Rounds from the Annual Catalogue.
Stampin' Up! have put together a great technique video showing seven different ways to add colour with watercolour. Links to the base watercolour products used in the video are shown at the bottom of the page.

Today I wanted to show you a beautiful new embossing folder from the 2022 Annual Catalogue. It's called Painted Posies and it's a 3D 6x6" folder. I have used it on this card.
The pattern is so pretty and gives a crisp imprint on the Melon Mambo cardstock. I love how the embossing foliage and flowers climb up the card. Embossing is a great way to add a wow to a card without a lot of expense.
The stamped panel on this one is from Artistically Inked. The flower is stamped in Polished Pink and the leaves and sentiment in Old Olive. The die cut shape is from Stylish Shapes dies which are new this year. I used the masking technique, shown in the video below, to stamp the leaves behind the flower.
Here's a masking video I made recently, which shows 6 different masking techniques, and 5 cards, including this one.
