Stampin' Up! True Love DSP and So Sentimental Bundle Sponge Brayered Thank You Card.

Hello friends.

A quick post today as I just want to show you the last card (for now) in my series of 4 cards showing different ways to colour neutral patterned paper with ink and other Stanpin' Up! supplies (using the lovely black and white floral themed True Love Designer Series Paper as our base). I will link to the other 3 cards below.

Today's card is super simple, as I have just used one colour in my colouring (Flirty Flamingo) and a sponge brayer.

Stampin Up 2021 sponged True Love DSP thankyou card using So Sentimental Bundle. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

Sponge brayers are a really affordable tool in your papercraft tool box. The Stampin' Up! sponge brayers are great value. For $14, you get 2 handles and 4 inter-changeable sponge roller heads (the die base inks wash out with water too). I like the soft effect you can get with them. I just start with a gradual slow build up of colour and add more as I go (I demonstrate the technique of using our Stampin' Up! sponge brayers in THIS VIDEO on my You Tube channel, if you would like to see them in action on a different card).

Sponging ink to recolour DSP using Stampin Up Sponge Brayers.

Here's what I have done to put my card together after I completed the sponging:

This card was easy and fun. By mixing up the colours, and using different sentiments, you could easily make up a batch of these cards in a stamping session.

So to summarise, here are the four ways of colouring the True Love patterned paper I have blogged about.

  • Colouring with Stampin' Blend Markers (find that post HERE)
  • Colouring with the new Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes including a video tutorila (find that post HERE)
  • Colouring with Watercolor Pancils (find that post HERE)

Stampin' Up! Ornate Garden Easel Card

Hello stampers :)

Demonstrators and customers alike are LOVING the gorgeous new Ornate Garden suite from the  2020/21 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It's so beautiful for layering and edging, and the colours of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper are so beautiful and warm. The patterns are described as classic Victorian florals and I definitely agree.

Stampin Up 2020 Ornate Garden Easel Card - Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

My base card is Terracotta Tile, one of last years Incolours. I am really loving this colour lately, and it features a lot in the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper. I really love the look of the vellum cut with the Ornate Layer Dies and how that softens the look as well. You can see all of the products I have used on today's card in the links at the end of the post.

I'm so glad the Detailed Bands dies are carrying over as I use them a lot to add a simple wow to cards. I have also used the greeting from the coordinating Band Together stamp set on this card.

More Stampin' Up! NEW Release Ornate Garden Suite cards / Tips for getting a great diecut with the Ornate Layers Dies

Hello lovelies. I hope you are all safe and well and managing OK in social isolation. Today I have some more Ornate Garden suite cards to share with you. This brand new suite of products was only released to customers on 1st April and is an early release of products from the 2020/21 Annua Catalogue which commences on June 3rd.

First up are my customer thankyou cards for this month. I loved making these sweet cards to express my gratitude to customers who support my business. Some months things get crazy, but one of the silver linings for home isolation for me has been time to create in bulk and also more importantly, time to handwrite in cards, and post them. That's where the magic happens, right?

Ornate Garden 2020 bulk thankyou cards by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I used the note cards and envelopes for these cards because they are a great size and a really affordable way to make a bulk lot of cards. I used the Ornate Layers Dies  for the Blushing Bride and Mint  Macaron piece (there are so many other colours that coordinate - see below), There are some tips to getting a great effect when using these dies which I have outlined in my tips. To finish my cards I have used the greeting (stamped in Early Espresso) from Ornate Thanks stamp set (just LOVE all those little script text lines you can add before and after the words), some scalloped lace trim and an adhesive pearl.

Ornate Garden 2020 bulk thankyou cards by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Melbourne Australia

TIP: As I was making the cards in bulk, I wanted to maximise the use of the gorgeous Ornate Garden DSP. I made the DSP piece 4 inches x 3 inches so I could get 12 from one sheet of DSP. To get an even border of notecard around the edge, I cut 1cm (approx 3/8 inch) from one side of the note card. This was quick and easy to do.

TIP: When using the Ornate Layers Dies with my BigShot, I found I got the best result using the Base Platform (which is slightly raised in the centre), the Thin Die Adapter plate and then the die and cardstock between the two acrylic plates. I place the die in the centre of the platform and put it through vertically (so the thinnest end of the rectangle goes through first). Then I just run it through a couple of times and use my Take Your Pick die brush and mat (brush on the reverse side of the die cut) which gets out mot of the 'bits'. The remaining bits are easily poked out with your paper piecer.

Colours which Coordinate with the Ornate Garden DSP: The colours listed by Stampin' Up! as coordinating are: Early Espresso, gold, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Teracotta Tile. Whisper White and a brand new InColour called Bumblebee. I also found So Saffron, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride to coordinate well. I  evenused Shimmery White for my greeting labels too, which is a little off-white, and that worked. It's a really versatile DSP.

My other Ornate Garden suite card used one of the decorative die cuts from the Ornate Layers Dies (in Blushing Bride) along with a piece of the DSP lined in Early Espresso. The greeting label is from one of my most used die sets for greeting labels, Stitched Labels from the 2019 Annual Catalogue. My greeting (stamped in Early Espresso) is from the So Sentimental stamp set in the 2020 January to June Mini Catalogue. As you can see the Ornate Garden DSP works great with Crumb Cake cardstock. The little flowers on the greeting label are die cut from the Ornate Layers Dies. I have layered 2 scrunched up flowers with a Dimensional foam dot between them, and an adhesive pearl on top. Finally I added a few more pearls below the greeting and in the flower centres on the decorative die cuts. Even though I have the gold Gilded Gems which were a part of this suite, I think adhesive pearls work really well too as the paper has a a bit of a vintage feel to me.

Hello crafty friends. I hope you and your families are well and safe at this worrying time in the world. Today I want to show you some pretty things which I hope will make you smile. I have made three cards using the newly released Stampin' Up! Ornate Garden suite. This beautiful suite of products is a new early release from the 2020 / 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

All three of my cards feature the absolutely beautiful Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. I LOVE this new folder and it's delicate design. For this one my base is Mint Macaron.

In this card the die cut foliage is a left over from my third card. I used one of the frames directly onto the DSP which I like the look of. My greeting from this card is from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set (from the 2019 / 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue).

Week 10 AWH Stampin' Up! Team Colour Creations Blog Hop: Calypso Coral

It' great to be able to start participating more regularly in my team blog hops. Today is the AWH Team Colour Creations Blog Hop and our colour of the week is Calypso Coral.

CC Calypso

Calypso Coral is a beautiful mid strength coral colour, making it super versatile. It's one of the key colours in the Tea Room suite in the 2018 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue, so I have used a the designer series paper and copper vinyl stickers from that suite in today's card. My base card colour is Coastal Cabana.

Stampin Up Blended Seasons Card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demo Melbourne Australia

I have used the Blended Season bundle for the stamp and Framelits, as they are limited edition products only available this  month. I really love the stamp set because it's great for colouring and has really versatile images and greetings. The Framelits are really unique too in that when you.  cut the stitched shape, the negative shape also has stitching on it. I think these products are a great investment. They are only available to purchase this month, and you can find them HERE IN MY ONLINE STORE.

I coloured my image using the Old Olive and Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Markers. I love how easy it is to blend the colour with these alcohol markers, and of course they perfectly coordinate with all the Stampin' Up! colours. To embellish my card, I have used the Tea Room Copper Vinyl Stickers, and an artisan pearl. The butterfly is one of the stickers, which I just stuck onto a scrap of Shimmery White cardstock and cut out with paper snips.
