Stampin' Up! Painted Posies Embossing Folder with Masked Artistically Inked Stamp Set

Hello friends.

Today I wanted to show you a beautiful new embossing folder from the 2022 Annual Catalogue. It's called Painted Posies and it's a 3D 6x6" folder. I have used it on this card.

The pattern is so pretty and gives a crisp imprint on the Melon Mambo cardstock. I love how the embossing foliage and flowers climb up the card. Embossing is a great way to add a wow to a card without a lot of expense.

The stamped panel on this one is from Artistically Inked. The flower is stamped in Polished Pink and the leaves and sentiment in Old Olive. The die cut shape is from Stylish Shapes dies which are new this year. I used the masking technique, shown in the video below, to stamp the leaves behind the flower.

Here's a masking video I made recently, which shows 6 different masking techniques, and 5 cards, including this one.

I hope you like today's card. You can find all of the products I have used in my online store, or the paper copy of the Annual Catalogue. Stampin Up Australia: Cinnamon Cider Thinking of You Card using Quiet Meadow Bundle

Colour Creations 2021 to 2022 logo

Hello friends. Today I am participating in my Art with Heart Team Colour Creations Blog Hop. I'm so luck to have a team full of amazing creative people who love to create and share with each other, and who jump in and run activities like this for our team. It's so fun!

This week's colour is Cinnamon Cider, one of the 2020 InColors. I really love this gorgeous mid brown colour. It really does remind me of a comforting warm drink.

C Cider

Here is a Thinking of You card I came up with for today's challenge. It was made much easier by using one of the Gingerbread and Peppermint Memories and More Cards in the new Stampin' Up! Australia July to December Mini Catalogue. The rest of my card uses the Quiet Meadow Bundle from the 2020 Annual Catalogue.

Stampin Up Quiet Meadow Thinking of You Card. 2021 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I used Early Espresso ink to stamp one of the stamps from the Quiet Meadow stamp set onto the left of the label shape on the pre-printed base card. This stamp set coordinates well with the distressed vintage look of the base card I think.

I die cut some of the stems from the Meadow Dies, in Crumb Cake and Night of Navy and arranged these a little to the right of the stamping. I adhered them in a couple of places with glue dots.

To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and die cut it with the label shape in the Meadow Dies. Before I adhered it with Dimensionals, I coiled a little Natural Linen Thread underneath (I adhered this with some tape).

Let's see what the rest of our team has created with Cinnamon Cider. Next up we have Caroline Manwaring in rural NSW. Caroline always makes the most elegant cards.

Water Lifting Stamping Technique using Stampin' Up! Free as a Bird Stamp Set

Off White Clean and Simple Email Sign Up Instagram Post (940 x 630 px) (1)
Hello stamping friends.

Today I have a technique card for you. I love how this one turned out, especially with all that texture behind the stamped panel. The stamp set featured today is the Free as a Bird stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Stampin Up Free as a Bird stamp set with waterlifting technique. 2020 card by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

Water Lifting Technique Instructions

I think this technique is officially called water lifting, but I also like to also refer to it as reverse watercolour, as instead of adding colour with our Water Painter Pens, we are removing it.

Here's how I created the stamped panel:

  1. I used a sponge brayer and a Misty Moonlight ink pad to create an ombre effect on the thick Whisper White cardstock I had cut with the Stitched Nested Framelits.
  2. I then stamped my image from the Stampin' Up! Free as a Bird stamp set in Jet Black Stazon over the brayered ink.
  3. The Stampin' Up! Classic Ink Pads are really reactive to water, so when you paint over the image with a Water Painter, it lifts the ink in that spot. I just kept on doing this in areas I wanted to lighten.

I have a video showing this technique. It features another card, but the technique is exactly the same.

I really love the edge effect you get with the diet cut Stitched Nested Shapes. They are a really versatile die set.

Stampin Up Stitched Nested Labels available in my online store in Australia. Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.I wanted to create lots of texture on this card, so I used the Subtles 3D embossing Folder on the Cumb Cake layer, and then added several different trims and embellishments under the stamped shape. You can link to all of these products in my online store, using the links at the end of the post. Here's what I have used:

  1. A strip of Misty Moonlight patterned DSP from the Flowers For Every Season paper pack
  2. A strip of Misty Moonlight Twill ribbon
  3. Two strips of Very Vanilla scalloped lace trim
  4. Some looped Braided Linen Trim
  5. Some wooden leaves from the In Good Taste Elements (love these for neutral embellishment and texture)

You can view a video showing how I attach looped ribbons to create texture on my projects HERE.

Prized Peony stamp set and the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch, with a new video.

Hello friends. Today we are playing with the Peony Garden product suite and I have also incorporated my fave new punch from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.

Peony Garden | Prized Peony 2020 Stampin' Up! card with video by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

There's lots of layers and textures in this one! Here are the measurements of the layers I have used:

  • Base card is a 14cm x 14cm Blushing Bride card
  • Layer 2 is a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock 13.5cm square, which I have embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder (see links at end of post) which is attached with Stampin' Seal.
  • Layer 3 is a piece of the Gray Granite DSP 11.5cm squared. This acts as a mat to layer 4 (attached with Stampin' Seal), and that combined layer is attached to layer 2 with Dimensionals.
  • Layer 4 is a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock 11cm square, and I have arranged punched Peony Garden DSP over the cardstock, leaving a small gap between each one to show the punched edges and colour through (see picture below which shows how I arranged the punched shapes).
  • Layer 5 is a 7cm square piece of Blushing Bride cardstock, which acts as a mat to Layer 6 (adhered with Stampin' Seal). That combined layer is attached to layer 4 using Dimensionals.
  • Layer 6 is a 6.6cm square piece of Shimmery White cardstock and the sentiment is stamped in Gray Granite.
  • Layer 7 is lots of looped ribbon and trim for texture (see the video below); and finally
  • Level 8 is the single peony stamp from Prized Peony Stamp Set . I embossed it in white, and added a wash of Blushing Bride with my Water Painters, and then added some additional shading with Rococo Rose.

Here's a look at how I did the Rectangle Postage Stamp arrangement. I arranged them on the corder of a piece of A4 cardstock so some would be overlapping the edges and be a straight cut when I trimmed this piece to size.

If you are relatively new to cardmaking, and would like to see how I have used and attached the ribbons and trims for added texture, I have created a short video for you.

Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team Monthly Stampin' Up! Showcase: Sketch Challenge

AWHT Showcase Logo Rectangle

It's time to get creative with the Art With Heart team girls on our monthly creative showcase. This month we are working with a sketch challenge designed by our lovely showcase coordinator Rachel Woollard. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Art With Heart team girls interpret this sketch.

Team sketch challenge

I'm using some new catalogue products (coming on 3rd June) for my card today. I have used the Tasteful Touches bundle and In Good Taste Designer Series Paper from the In Good Taste suite. This is such a gorgeous suite of products full of texture, and with a warm colour scheme which can be adjusted for feminine or masculine themed creations.

To create additional texture on my card (I LOVE texture!) I have embossed the front of my card (after I adhered the patterned paper) with the Old World Paper embossing folder which is an amazing new 3D folder coming on June 3rd as well. I also popped some Braided Linen Trim behind the circle. My flower is watercoloured using Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry.

I would definitely consider checking out the In Good Taste suite when you receive your NEW 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. If you don't have an existing demonstrator you do regular business with, myself or any of the team in today's showcase would be happy to get one to you. Just reach out and ask.

The next demonstrator to share her interpretation of the sketch is the lovely Kate Morgan.
