Stampin' Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit and 4 alternative Christmas Card Designs & Video

Hi friends, today I have a treat for you if you love to stamp with kits. The new Stampin' Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit is so amazing, I had to do a video about it!

Love Santa Tag Kit Alternatives by Claire Daly. Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

The Love, Santa Tag Kit is $33 and is an all inclusive (yep, including the stamps, ink and acrylic block too!) and the tags are gorgeous! I was really surprised how big they are so you have plenty of room to write on the back. They are also really bright and would be perfect for kids and grandkids too. There's even some coordinating treat bags (sold separately and you get 12 bags for $12.25).

Find the Love, Santa Tag Kit HERE in my online store.

Check out my video showing what's in the kits, the tags and hear about the cards I made.

I'm really please how these cards and tags turned out. The kit is amazing value and I am sure you will have bits and pieces in your craft stash which you could use to make some of the tags into Christmas cards if you wanted to.

Here's a closer look at each of the cards. The video explains anything not obvious that I have done on each of these cards (and shows things like the sparkle effects I created) much better.

Stampin' Up! Curvy Christmas Card, Handmade Tags and unique Christmas gift wrapping idea.

Hello friends. Today I am sharing with you a Christmas card and handmade gift tags using Stampin' Up! Curvy Christmas stamp set and Poinsettia Place DSP. I also share a unique Christmas gift wrapping idea, and a tip to line the curvy die cut edges perfectly on your projects.

The Curvy Christmas stamp set was introduced as an extra for Christmas 2020, but time is running out to grab this one as it retires on January 4th. I totally love this set which coordinates with the Curvy Dies (available now in the Quite Curvy Bundle as a pre-release from the 2021 January to June mini catalogue). I cased this card using a design from Stampin' Up!.

In addition to the curvy Christmas stamp set, I have used Poinsettia Place Designer Series paper, Early Espresso ink, Real Red Braided Linen Trim (love this trim) and a bit of the gold and silver tinsel trim from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley (see end of post for all the product links). I have used the Subtle 3D embossing folder on the base card, and embossed that gorgeous spray of stars from the Curvy Christmas stamp set, in gold onto Shimmery White cardstock.

Here's a closer look at the gold embossing. I love that curvy star stamp from Curvy Christmas!

I needed some handmade gift tags, so I went with the same colour combination and stamp set. My sentiment on the tags is from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set.

How to Line the Curvy Dies Cut Edges up Perfectly.

  1. I found the Curvy Dies a bit tricky to line up perfectly until I got the hang of it, so let me help you with a couple of tips.
  2. If you want the punched circles on the edge, make sure you check the die so that the cutting edge is at the top (sounds obvious, but took me a while to remember).
  3. Cut your first edge, by taping the die at the top edge with some washi tape and putting it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (this bit will be cut off).
  4. To cut the second piece of paper, remove the die cut piece from the bottom of the previous cut, and then line the die and attached paper up with the top of the second piece (as shown in picture below), ensuring the edges of the die are in the same spot. Run through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine again. You should now have two perfectly lined up curves.

To make up the tags, I adhered the two bits of diecut Poinsettia Petals DSP to the card first, and then I cut into 2 inch strips which were 5 inches long. I then cut the tag tops with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. This punch is AWESOME for making your own tags and bookmarks. They can be any length and the punch has grooves to hold and cut tag tops for 1", 1.5" and 2" wide strips of cardstock. How awesome is that?

I then stamped the tiny stars (from the Curvy Christmas stamp set) all over them using Versamark to give a subtle patterned effect that I could still write over.

I finished them off using the same trim as I used on the Christmas card.

Unique Gift Wrapping Idea

When you are after some coordination with your gift giving, or simply want to use up what you have; you can use left over patterned paper to wrap small gifts. I had a few sheets of the Poinsettia Place DSP left over, so I wrapped the gifts which were going with my handmade tags. I love how they turned out.

Your Creative Connection 111: Creative Tags

600 pixels

Hello friends. We are back for another creative showcase with my global demonstrator friends. This week, out theme is 'Tag, You're It'. When I think of tags, my mind usually goes to vintage tags, or Christmas tags. This time I have created a vintage tag using some of my favourite floral and vintage Stampin' Up! products.

Vintage tag using Very Versailles and Tasteful Textures Stampin Up stamp sets. Tag by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

I started with a 2" wide piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and have used the Delightful Tag Topper Punch (links to all the products I have used today are at the end of the post). I sponged the edges and then layered images from the Very Versailles stamp set, using Crumb Cake ink. I just love this stamp set for vintage floral imagery.

Very Versailles stamp set Stampin' Up!

The flowers are from Tasteful Textures stamp set, and were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon and then watercoloured with a mix of Rococo Rose, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss. I used my Early Espresso marker for some additional highlights at the end.

My sentiment is from Very Versailles and I used the script stamp on the background of the sentiment strips as well (plus some additional Crumb Cake sponging). The Champagne Rhinestones are a great colour for adding  to vintage projects for a little bling, and I have also used some In Good Taste wooden elements.

Finally I have used the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack for top of the tag. I really love the texture in this trim combo and they are easily frayed for more of a vintage look.

DIY Christmas tags with the Stampin' Up! Delightful Tag Topper punch

Hello friends. How are you? Today I have for you some quick and easy Stampin' Up! Christmas Tags using bits and pieces I had left over on my craft desk. Don't you love those types of projects?

DIY tags, Tag Topper Punch, Tag Punch, Stampin Up, handmade tgs, Christmas 2020. By Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

One of the things that made them quick and easy, was the Stampin' Up! Delightful Tag Topper Punch. This nifty punch cuts the top part of tags for three different width tags: 1", 1.5" and 2". You can then make your tags any length you want. It's $38 plus postage, and available HERE in my online store, or Contact Me to order by phone or email.

Here's a look at the three different sizes of tags you can cut toppers for (they can be any length, but the punch cuts three widths).

As you can see the punch is perfect for Christmas tags. I have decorated mine with some left over Toile Tidings Designer Paper, some Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake stamping with Gleaming Christmas stamp set and some embellishments (the tinsel trim and stickers) from the Most Wonderful Time product medley (all links at the bottom of the post).

To add some texture and dimension, I added some raw twine from my retired stash, and also made the berries 'pop' by using a combination of Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots and Shimmery Crystal Effects.

I'm really pleased how these turned out and they were so quick and easy to make. They look great with the matching Toile Tidings wrapping paper too!
