I hope this finds you well and happy. Apologies for the delay in getting back here. 10 days ago I tripped over coming out of the garden and landed on some cement slabs with my wrist extended, and well you know the rest. I've broken my wrist and have done some ligament damage and I'm in a brace / cast for 6 weeks. I'm slowly adjusting to what I can and can't do, so it will only be simple creations from me for the next little while.

I did manage to make two cards on the weekend with a little help though! More on that in a tic. First I wanted to announce the winner of a competition I held for my purchasing customers.

Simple and easy handmade card ideas using Stampin' Up! supplies

Hello stamping friends. Today I am sharing with you some simple and easy handmade card ideas using Stampin' Up! supplies and I also have a free PDF tutorial for you to show you exactly what I did with each card. These are great cards for beginners, and the stampset, watercolour pencils and note card and envelope packs are inexpensive items to get you started in your card making hobby.

Even though I have used Stitched Rectangle dies in my card, I have given the measurements in the tutorial to just cut a rectangle for these pieces. You could also substitute a rectangle of patterned paper for the two cards where I have used the vellum doily coloured with Stampin' Blends (again the measurements are in the tutorial). The vase and the mason jar are from the Jar of Flowers bundle which I have shown below. They are a great compliment to the Four Seasons Floral stamp set I have used in this project. The Four Seasons Floral stamp set is great for beginners and is just $24. 

I couloured the images using Watercolour Pencils and a Blender Pen (you can also use a Water Painter). You need to stamp the images onto the card using a black Stazon ink pad, so that the outline doesn't run when you add the moisture from the Blender Pen. Stazon is a solvent based ink pad which is why it doesn't run. I have combined a few different colours of pencil in colouring these images, which gives a more realistic effect.

I used the jar punch (which is shaped and sized just like a mason jar) for the vase in this card. This can be purchased alone, or as part of the Jar of Flowers Bundle (where you get 10% off by purchasing them together). 

There are lots of other floral shapes in the Jar of Flowers stamp set, which coordinate with the jar punch too. The Jar Punch can also be purchased separately.

Poppy Party Day 2: Stampin' Up! Painted Poppies Bright and Bold Card

Hello there.

Back with my day 2 creation for the Poppy Party. Today I decided to brighten things right up compared to yesterday's card and use the Stampin' Up! Painted Poppies bundle from the 2020 January mini catalogue in a completely new way.

My colour combination for today's card is:

This card was super simple to create. I just stamped the multiple poppy image in a row (tip: start in the centre of the white panet first, and then stamp at each end) in Memento Black Ink as I wanted to colour with Stampin' Blends. I then just coloured the flowers in the darkest shade of Mango Melody, Lovely Lipstick and Pumpkin Pie. My greeting is again from Sending You Thoughts (Saleabration level 1 choice) stamp set, which you can choose for free if you buy the bundle (see yesterdays post for the stamp set image). A couple of shiny adhesive  rhinestones and we are done. All products used in today's card are linked at the end of the post.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Friendship Single Layer Card

Hello stamping friends.

Today I have a really simple card for you, using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set from the 2019/2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I grabbed this stamp set when I needed to make a couple of quick birthday cards recently. 

It's basically a one layer card, except for a small greeting (I used a greeting from Butterfly Wishes stamp set as it was a better size for my card; I do love the greetings which come with the Beautiful Friendship set though). I stamped directly onto Shimmery White cardstock, and cut a 2cm strip from the bottom of the front of the card, and added a strip of Soft Sea Foam patterned DSP (from the subtles 6x6 pack) to the base of the card.

Here's the colour combination I used with the stamping:

The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray, and cut out from one of the dies in the Detailed Bands die set (link at end of post), and I have added some 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots for embellishing.

Here's a closer look at the Beautiful Friendship  stamp set (also linked at the end of the post). It really is super easy to use, You just keep on adding layers of flowers and leaves and you are done. The stamp set is Photopolymer so it's super easy to line up as well.

The great news is that this stamp set is just $38 (link at the end of the post), so a great one to add to your collection and a stamp set I think you will reach for again and again.
