Your Creative Showcase #107: To Bling or not to Bling?

600 pixelsHello papercrafters from aroung the world! Today the YCC crew are bringing you projects with their own versions of bling (or maybe no bling? - we will have to wait and see!).

I would describe myself as a 'subtle blinger'. I do like a bit of bling on my cards, but it tends to be in a subtle way, as opposed to glitter and glimmer. For me I like the shiny bits to be in the form of foiled papers, foil cardstock and a few rhinestones or shiny embellishments here and there.

Here's today's card to demonstrate my preferred 'bling level'!

Parisian Beauty and Ornate Layers 2020 Split Panel Card Stampin Up - Claire Daly, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. YCC#107

I have used the retiring Parisian Beauty bundle and Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper (both now only available while stocks last on until June 2nd) to make this split panel card. The paper has a subtle champagne foiled script running through it and I have carried that through by die cutting the Eiffel Tower in champagne foild cardstock as well.

Parisian Beauty and Ornate Layers 2020 Split Panel Card Stampin Up - Claire Daly, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. YCC#107

The frame is cut from the NEW Ornate Layers Dies, which a part of the Ornate Garden Suite and available now to purchase early from the 2020 Annual Catalogue. The flower is die cut from the Parisian Blossoms DSP and also has some of the champagne foiling on it. To complete the embellishing I added a flourish from the Parisian Dies, and three Champagne Rhinestones (yeah - these are carrying over to the new catalogue). My greeting is from Itty Bitty Greetings, a really versatile set when you just need a small greeting. You can view all the products I have used today using the links at the end of the post.

Now it's time to visit my clever stamping friends around the world to see how much bling they like to dial up on the 'blingometer'. First up is Dawn Olchefske in Minnesota USA.

Stampin' Up! Ornate Garden Easel Card

Hello stampers :)

Demonstrators and customers alike are LOVING the gorgeous new Ornate Garden suite that was released early from the upcoming 2020/21 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It's so beautiful for layering and edging, and the colours of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper are so beautiful and warm. The patterns are described as classic Victorian florals and I definitely agree.

Find the Ornate Garden Suite Products HERE in my online store(they can be purchased individually, as a bundle or as a whole suite).

If you are subscribed for my free weekly PDF tutorials, you would have received the step by step instructions for this card a few weeks ago. If you haven't subscribed, you can do that HERE so you don't miss out on any of the fun tutorials I have in store for you over the coming months. If you want a sample of my tutorials, there are a couple of free ones you can download HERE on my tutorial page.

Stampin Up 2020 Ornate Garden Easel Card - Claire Daly

My base card is Terracotta Tile, one of last years Incolours. I am really loving this colour lately, and it features a lot in the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper. I really love the look of the vellum cut with the Ornate Layer Dies and how that softens the look as well. You can see all of the products I have used on today's card in the links at the end of the post.

I'm so glad the Detailed Bands dies are carrying over as I use them a lot to add a simple wow to cards. I have also used the greeting from the coordinating Band Together stamp set on this card. You can still get the 10% off bundle pricing  (as seen HERE in my online store)  up until June 2nd , and then these two items will be available individually (with new bundles available in the new catalogue).

Your Creative Connection 106: My Favourite DSP

600 pixels

Hello papercraft friends. Today it's time for another Your Creative Connection global Stampin' Up! showcase. In this round #YCC106, my global friends and I are creating with our favourite Designer Series Paper (DSP). I'm really looking forward to visitig each person to see which paper pack they chose. I tried to guess for a few, let's see how well I have done.

My choice was Perennial Essence Designer Series paper. As soon as I saw this paper launched at OnStage Live in New Zealand I was IN  LOVE. Not only because of the colours and beautiful imagery, but the Monet like look of the paper. I was lucky enough to have a trip to Paris booked with a friend 3 months after On Stage, and we had already booked our tickets to visit Monet's Garden in Giverny.

Perennial Essence B

Perennial Essence DSP is a 12x12" sized pack with 6 double sided designs. The imagery on this paper was actually handpainted by the artists at Stampin' Up! The designs are so soft and beautful and it coordinates with at least eleven different Stampin' Up! colours: Balmy Blue, Blackberry Bliss, Blueberry Bushel, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Petal Pink, So Saffron and Whisper White. It is also part of the Perennial Essence suite, so has coordinating items (see links list at end of post).

Perennial Essence A

The sad bit is though, as this paper has been around for a year, it is retiring on June 2nd or until supplies last, whichever is earliest. If you want to buy it, I would get in fast. I jumped in today and purchased some more myself as I am not ready to see it go yet and want to use it for my Monet's Garden mini album (retiring products lists for the 2020 Annual Catalogue and 2020 January to June Mini Catalogue are linked towards the end of the post).

I had originally planned to make 1-2 cards for this post, but once I started playing I made 6 cards in an afternoon. I used Crumb Cake as the base on four of them, and Purple Posy on the other two. Neither of those colours are on the official coordinating colours list for this DSP (these are listed in the catalogue net to each DSP, in the online store and also on the packing cardboard on the paper pack itself), which shows you how versatile this paper is.

Stampin' Up! Perennial Essence DSP 2020 cards by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia for YCC106

For these first two cards, I have just used one cardfront sized piece of patterned paper. I think this sheet is my favourite in the whole pack. You could even frame it. To complete these cards, I have used die cut labels from the Detailed Bands Dies and greetings from the Ornate Thanks and Band Together stamp sets. You will see the layered and slightly crumbled little flowers on a few of my cards. Those were made using dies which are included in the Ornate Border Dies (all links at end of post).

For these next two cards, I just cut two different patterned rectangle pieces of the DSP both ways on the diagonal, and then  interchanged two pieces. For this first one, I used the Ornate Frames dies for a big thank you.

Stampin' Up! Perennial Essence DSP 2020 cards by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia for YCC106

In this second card I used the Detailed Bands dies again, with the greeting from Band Together stamp set (these products can be purchased as a bundle).

Stampin' Up! Perennial Essence DSP 2020 cards by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia for YCC106

My final two cards are both the same, so I will just show you one of them. In these cards, I adhered the paper strips to the Petal Pink cardstock and then placed that through the Subtle 3D embossing folder. The effect of doing that is AMAZING with this paper. It looks like a painted canvas. To finish these cards off, I offset two medium daisys and placed an adhesive Perennial Essence Floral Centre in the middle (the floral centres are another thing I added to my order today - they are so realistic). The greeting is from Peaceful Moments in the 2020 January to June mini catalogue, and I have cut it out with the Timeless Label Punch.

Before we head off around the world to visit my crafty demonstrator friends, I wanted to share a couple of special pictures with you from my visit to Monet's Garden in Giverny. This was a dream destination for a garden lover like me to visit, and it didn't dissapoint! I can't wait to complete my mini album and will be sure to post pictures here on my blog when I do.

Now it's time to head off around the world (luckily we have virtual travel like this in times of social isolation), and visit my lovely global demonstrator friends to see which DSP is their favourite. Next we are off to visit Dawn Olchefske in Minnesota, USA.

Stampin' Up! NEW Ornate Garden Suite including the gorgeous Ornate Floral Embossing Folder

Hello crafty friends. I hope you and your families are well and safe at this worrying time in the world. Today I want to show you some pretty things which I hope will make you smile. I have made three cards using the newly released Stampin' Up! Ornate Garden suite. This beautiful suite of products is a new early release from the 2020 / 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

All three of my cards feature the absolutely beautiful Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. I LOVE this new folder and it's delicate design. For this one my base is Mint Macaron.

In this card the die cut foliage is a left over from my third card. I used one of the frames directly onto the DSP which I like the look of. My greeting from this card is from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set (from the 2019 / 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue).

My second card is an almost identical design, but uses Blushing Bride as the base.

The greeting from this one is the Ornate Thanks stamp set which is bundled with the Ornate Borders Dies (can also be purchased separately, but you get a 10% discount if purchased in the bundle). It is stamped in Mint Macaron. The little Blushing Bride flowers are from the Ornate Border Dies.

I just love these elegant floral borders. For the greeting in the frame I used the Peaceful Moments stamp set. Just a few adhesive pearls in the flower centres and we are done.

Your Creative Connection 105: A Rainbow for You

600 pixels

Hello friends. Today it's time for a virtual tour around the globs to visit the blogs of my international crafty Stampin' Up! friends for Your Creative Connection #105. Today's theme is 'A Rainbow for you' and what perfect timing. With nearly all of us in social isolation for Covid-19, I think sending rainbows is the perfect way to bring joy to other people if you are able to use the postal service in your area.

I took the theme very literally, and made up some rainbow cards using Stampin' Up! layering circles dies.

Rainbow Card for #YCC105 bu Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

I used  Stampin' Up! note cards and envelopes as the base for my card, and then created a light pool party wash on the card front using my aquapainter and Pool Party ink refill (diluted in an ink mixing tray). My rainbow was made by cutting the 6 biggest circles from the Layering Circles dies, and using the circle 2 sizes down in the centre. This gave me 6 outline circles and I used half of these for each card, My colours from the outside are Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape.

For my greeting, I have used the Stampin' Up! Well Written dies to cut out the word 'happy', and the coordinating Well Said stamp set for the other words . I stamped the greeting 'Sending Healing Thoughts Your Way' and then cut it up to just use the words 'sending; and 'your way'.

I hope this rainbow has bought some happiness to you! Now it's time to visit my lovely friend Dawn Olchefske in Minneapolis in the USA.
