Stampin' Up! Southern Serenade Vintage Birthday Card

Welcome to April friends, and blessed Easter Wishes to you and your family.

What's happening in Stampin' Up! in April?

Next weekend, demonstrators around the globe will be gathering at OnStage events for the unveiling of the 2018/19 Annual Catalogue, which will be available for customers during May for a June 1st start (to register your interest in receiving a catalogue when they become available, go here). I will be heading to Sydney with lots of my team which will be lots of fun and excitement. This year will be even more fun, as it's Stampin' Up!'s 30th Anniversary and we are celebrating like it's 1988.

I'll be able to tell you all about the OnStage event, and give you some sneak peeks from Tuesday April 10th.

To catch some bits and pieces of the fun that I can show earlier, make sure you are following me on Facebook and Instagram.

I can't wait to bring you the fun and excitement of OnStage!

Being the start of the month, we also have a new monthly hostess code to use with online orders. Pop this code in when your are prompted in your order, and you will qualify for a small free gift mid May.

Today's Card

Today I have a vintage style birthday card for you, using one of the lovely stamp sets from the Occasions Catalogue called Southern Serenade. Sometimes we miss these stand alone stamp sets while we focus on bundles, but this stamp set is too pretty to miss. I particularly like its vintage style and the beautiful fine lace image.

Southern Serenade

I have used Shimmery White to stamp on, and Crumb Cake for the stamping of the lace images. I have stamped the floral image in Basic Black Archival and coloured with watercolour pencils.

This stamp set comes with some lovely accompanying images of the lace and smaller floral images, as well as three very versatile sentiments. It's a great one to add to your collection of stamps and is available in clear mount and wood (see links below). The 'Happy Birthday' and 'Thank You' greeting also fit nicely inside the Pretty Label Punch.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Stampin' Up! Australia: Beautiful Peacock for Saleabration 2018

Today's share is another Stampin' Up! Saleabration 2018 product which can be earned for free. This time it's the Beautiful Peacock stamp set. I have also used the Celbrate You Thinlits again (told you they were versatile!).

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Peacock card by Claire Daly Stampin Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. #peacockstamp #occasions2018 #stampinupcards2018 #clairedaly #stampinupaustralia

This is a super easy set to line up (it's photopolymer so use a foam stamping mat underneath when you stamp)  and can be used in many different ways. I wanted quite a simple card today, so I just added some embossing from the Petal Pair embossing folder duo (in Occasions Catalogue) and the Celebrate Youdie cuts. To get the different colours on the feathers, I used a sponge dauber to sponge on a little Bermuda Bay to the feathers stamp that I had already inked up with Lemon Lime Twist.

I also wanted to show you a great trick that was demonstrated at the OnStage training event (another great perk of being a demonstrator) by Brandi, one of our US based trainers. Excuse the photos on these ones, as they were pictures of the video screen.

Brandi started out with the Beautiful Peacock, and it's tail stamped in different colours. This would make a great card by itself, but Brandi wanted to add a real WOW. So she went a couple more steps.

She used some of the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon (available with 2 other colours as a free level 1 pick in the Saleabration catalogue, but we also have some in other colours in the Annual Catalogue) and pulled the shimmer thread in the ribbon to be ended with a fabulous frayed section of ribbon perfect for a peacocks tail. You can tie one end together securely using the thread you pulled out.

Here's how it looks added to the card with a few extra embellishments.

Sydney Stampin Up OnStage Local Recap - Part 2 with lots of sneak peeks from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Following on from Part 1, here is what we got up to on the main day of the Stampin' Up! OnStage2016 demonstrator training event in Sydney at the Hilton Hotel. I had over 30 of my team girls there and it was lovely to sit together and share this great event with them.

I had picked up my bag the night before, which contained a stamp set, and some other goodies, we had already been posted out name tags and ribbons before the event.

Attendee bag

I had some 'first time attending the events' girls this time so I made sure I was downstairs nice and early to welcome them. By all accounts they had lots of fun.

Collage-2016-04-28 (1)

We sit at round tables at these events as we do stamping too. Our host for the Sydney event was Rich Judkins, the Stampin' Up! President who flew in from Salt lake City. He was a fun host that's for sure. The tables were set up all waiting for us (no peeking sign on the make and take ox, ha ha).

It was very exciting to receive the brand new 2016 Annual Catalogue as the very first item on the agenda!

We then had lots of fabulous presentations showing us new products with tips and creative ways to use them. These presentations are amazing and such a valuable tool for demonstrators to help build our own skills and get to know the new products. There is also hands on stamping where we got to play with new products (at this stage I often spend time helping new team members, so these two samples are actually my lovely friend Sharon Davern's.

Mke and takes

We did three make and takes altogether and also had a chance to stamp and punch the new 2016 -18 In Colours!

As it was the ten year Anniversary of Stampin' Up!, we had these cute little cupcakes to celebrate. I love the little cupcake toppers and t's a fave memento from the event and my nearly 10 years as a demonstrator.

Let's not forget FREE STAMPS! In addition to the Mixed Borders stamp set we received in our bad at check in, we got another stamp set as an all attendee give away (Sitting Here stamp set) and I won the Baby Bear stamp set in prize patrol - yeah!

One of the most exciting parts of the event though, was the opportunity to see, touch and wow over completely new products coming to you in June! Are you ready for some sneak peeks?

Sydney Stampin' Up! OnStage Local 2016 recap - Part 1

Hi lovely ones. Thought you might like to see some pics from the #OnStage2016 local event in Sydney?  Myself and 30+ of my team made the trip to Sydney which was fabulous (we love having fun at our events together). To me, Stampin' Up! events are a perfect opportunity to get away for some 'me' time, have fun with my demonstrator friends and of course I wouldn't miss the opportunity to see/get the new catalogues first and be there to support my team members.

I traveled up a day early this time. I've been super busy at work and home the last few months and decided a day's relax was on order. I grabbed myself a great new book at the airport, and settled in for a (short but lovely) relax in the beautiful sunshine above the clouds.

Plane

My relax day turned into a shopping day when I got to Sydney and realised I had left my whole makeup bag on the bathroom counter at home - OMG! So Friday I hit the shops, which was pretty easy to do from the event venue at the Hilton Sydney, as we had QVB building with Mecca on one side one side, and Pitt St with Sephora, David Jones and Myer on the other side! Of course I started the day with a very hearty breakfast (my fave away breaky, smoked salmon eggs benedict) and loved all the fresh juice places around to get my fave beetroot, carrot and celery juice. I loved the vibrancy and pace of being in the centre of Sydney.

Breaky

After all that shopping and eating, it was back to my room to finish off wrapping my team gifts for tomorrow. I had premade the tags and packed everything, and despite a few hiccups with the broken stapler and no tape, I managed to secure them well with twine and Snail adhesive!

Friday night was CentreStage, which is the function for Silver Elite and above demonstrators. We were treated to a one hour leadership presentation by the lovely Brandi Barnard from the US office, and our while Sydney event was hosted by Rich Judkins, the company President who also flew in from the US. After the training, we were treated to a beautiful 3 course dinner. Stampin' Up! always make the table look so special.

We also received this cute denim daypack as a gift.

Backpack

I loved chatting to my fellow demonstrators, staff and team friends at Centre Stage. It was a fabulous event and the food was amazing too! I felt very appreciated.

Then it was back to my room to get a good nights sleep before the big day ahead. I'll cover that in part 2, later today.
