Stampin' Up! 2020 Snowflake Splendor Suite 12x12 scrapbook page plus how to make your own dimensional foam alphas.

Hey friends,

Today I have my second scrapbook page for you using the Snowflake Splendor Suite from the 2020 Stampin' Up! August to December mini catalogue (previously called the Holiday Catalogue). This suite doesn't just have to be for Christmas cards. This is a photo of my husband and boys in the snow on a short break to Mt Buller this year. I also want to share a cool tip with you about how to create your own custom foam alphas, which will save you time and money and give you perfect colour coordination every time.

It's a 5x7" photo, so I just cut a strip of the Snowflake Splendor DSP the same height and added it either side. My base cardstock is Balmy Blue from the Subtles 12x12 pack (you get 2 12x12" sheets of each of the subtle coloured cardstock). I wanted subtle embellishments, so I die cut some snowflakes from the Stampin' Up! Window Sheets using the So Many Snowflakes dies, and layered a smaller Balmy Blue snowflake on top with a Blue Adhesive Backed Gem on top. All of these product are in the Snowflake Splendor Suite and you can see them using the links at the end of the post.

For the title, I have used the totally awesome new Playful Alphabet dies, and the adhesive foam sheets. By adhering some of the DSP to the top layer of the foam sheets before cutting, I made my own custom colour coordinated dimensional foam alphas that are adhesive. This is so totally cool. The letters are a great size too and can be used on cards as well. The dimension created by using the foam sheets makes all the difference, and having them already adhesive, saves so much time and messing around.

Here's a closer look at the Playful Alphabet Dies. Love these, especially as they contain numbers, symbols and extras of commonly used letters as well. Such a versatile die set.

Here's the Foam Adhesive Sheets .It only shows 3 sheets, but you actually get 6 sheets in the pack (size is 11cm x 11.4cm for each sheet). Double-sided adhesive foam sheets can be cut with Paper Snips (p. 159) or open dies to fit any project. They are acid free and ideal for use with cardstock and paper.

Finally, here's a look at the beautiful Snowflake Splendor DSP. I really love that this paper coordinates with such a wide range of colours which makes it even more versatile.

Stampin' Up! Snowflake Splendor 12x12 Scrapbook Page

Hello friends,

Something a little bit different today. Over the weekend I completed some pocket pages as well as 2 12x12 layouts of our mid year break to the snow, so I am showing you the first of those 2 layouts today.

I'm using the Snowflake Splendour suite of products from the 2020 August to December mini catalogue.

The sentiment in the stamp set was perfect for this photo of my husband and I. I added a little Highland Heather heart to pick up that colour in the patterned paper.

I made my own custom dimensional alphas, by using the Playful Alphabet dies and our foam adhesive sheets (all the products I have used today are linked at the end of the post).

My base card is Smoky Slate and I have stamped the snowflakes in the same colour ink, but stamped off once.

Stampin' Up! 12x12 Travel Scrapbook Layout using World of Good Product Suite

Hello there.

Something completely different for you today, a scrapbook page! I am beginning to scrapbook my trip my few days in Rome before the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip last year and wanted a 12x12 cover page. I'll probably do most of the pages with pocket scrapbooking and the World of Good Memories and More card pack, but I like to do some 12x12 pages in there too, as a cover and some special photos.

As I wanted to print certain parts of the photo and get the full height if the beautiful Trevi fountain in, I cropped my photo in Photoshop, and then printed at home. I have a Canon Pixma A4 printer (mine is a TS8160) and I use genuine Canon Photo Paper (I love the Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi Gloss) and genuine Canon inks, and I am really happy with the printing results I get. Very handy too as Melbourne (Australia) where I live just went into another 6 week lockdown to get the second wave of this horrible Covid-19 Virus under control.

The World of Good product suite is PERFECT for travel scrapbooking, and especially ancient Rome as it has all the beautiful rich earthy colours of ancient ruins and old buildings.

With our new adhesive foam sheets, and Playful Alphabet dies (links at end of post), it's easy to make colour coordinated dimensional letters for your scrapbook titles. The letters are about 3/4" high, which is a great size. You just peel the backing paper off one side of the adhesive foam, attach a strip of whatever colour you are using (I used the Brass foil sheets) and cut the alphabet like normal in your die cutting machine. They cut like butter. Just peel the backing sheet off the other side and adhere to your page. Easy! The word 'adventure' is from the Sweet Silhouettes dies.

I've added some tone on tone stamping to the base Crumb Cake 12x12 cardstock (from the neutrals 12x12 pack) using one of my very favourite vintage sets, Very Versailles. I have also popped on some of the Artistry Blooms sequins, which include a variety of colours. I found the Calypso Coral a great match for this product suite.

To balance the page I included a quote (die cut with the layering circle dies) from the World of Good Memories and More cards. I added in some more sequins, a cardstock sticker from the same card pack and a strip of coordinating DSP. As this was a cover page, it didnt need much journalling. I just added the dates and a note that it was before the 2019 Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip.

Your Creative Connection 103: Stampin' Up! Parisian Blossoms Scrapbook Layout

Today my global Your Creative Connection ladies are choosing their favourite suite of products to play with. I have chosen the lovely Parisian Blossom product suite from the 2020 January to June Mini Catalogue. I have used products in this suite to complete a double scrapbook page to document highlights of 5 nights in Paris. (Eagle eyed readers will note I have appeared to travel forward in time with the dates - ooops! Have since corrected, but the original photos were taken in the best light, so I am using these).

Highlights pages are a great way to get a whole bunch of photos into a layout. My Stampin' Up! mini guillotine (FREE in the Starter Kit as part of the awesome Saleabration joining deal on until the end of March) was perfect to be able to trim my photos so I only got the bits that told my story, and created variation in my layout.

I started with two 12x12" Petal Pink cardstock sheets. I placed a 3x12" strip of Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper towards the top and bottom of each page. I then arranged the pictures over the 2 pages, with a couple of highlight photos on a Cherry Cobbler mat (Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Petal Pink are the three coordinating colours for this DSP).

I have used stamped images and die cuts from the Parisian Beauty bundle to embellish my page. The quotes were stamped from the Parisian Beauty stamp set onto some of the DSP and cut out with Rectangle Stitched dies. The quotes in this stamp set are perfect for travel pages.

I have used strip journaling (created using my computer), to label each highlight, and to add some additional text to my title.

To finish off the layout, I have used the Hand Lettered Prose dies to cut Pool Party letters for my title (oops again about the date!), and embossed the letters using the Subtle embossing folder for some added texture.

Of course this Parisian Blossoms suite is also perfect for card making. Here's a card I made earlier in the year using this suite.
