New Stampin' Up! 2020 In Colours: Introducing Cinnamon Cider

Hello there papercrafters. Today we are looking at the second (alphabetically) new Stampin' Up! 2020 In Colour, and it's Cinnamon Cider.

Cinnamon Cider has more of an orange undertone to our other neutral colours, and tones well with warm colours and Early Espresso.

Stampin Up Cinnamon Cider 2020 In Colour / ColorEven though the colour has cider in the name, we are entering winter here in Australia and we have had several sub zero morning temperatures here where I live. So for me,  this colour makes me think of warm cinnamon cocoa and being cosy if front of a warm fire. Both of those things make me feel happy and comforted right now, so I have a real emotional connection to this colour.

At first I struggled to create with this colour, then in the end this colour was the one I made the most cards with. I will just show you one basic card today, but I have some great samples to share in the coming weeks.

Today's card is a basic masculine birthday card featuring one of the Cinnamon Cider 6x6" paper stack designs (we have 4 new designs this year which are gorgeous to create with.

I have layered the Stitched So Sweetly dies in Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. You can also add a small mat of a contrasting colour in between (the perfect size to cut this rectangle is 6.5 x 3.5cm) which I have done with Seaside Spray. The word 'Happy' in my gretting is one of the cardstock stickers which come in the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More Card Pack. It is in Misty Moonlight (another of the new In Colours, but as you will see later in the week, this tones really well with Seaside Spray. The word birthday is from the Well Said stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso. A couple of the gold Gilded Gem embellishments finish this card off nicely.

Here are some other Cinnamon Cider colour combinations suggested by Stampin' Up! I have another few colur combinations I can't wait to try too. This colour really inspires me right now.

Stampin' Up! Argyle Golf Fathers Day Card using the Country Club Suite

Hello stampers,

Today I have a golf themed Fathers Day card for you. This card feautres Stampin' Up! products from the golf-themed Country Club Suite, which debuted in the 2020 January to June Mini Catalogue.

Golf themed fathers day card 2020 using Country Club suite. By Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

This Country Club Suite suite is perfect for the males in your life, especially golfers! The suite comprises a 12x12 Designer Series Paper Pack, a stamp set and coordinating dies, coordinating twine, some very cute wood golf elements, and an Argyle 3D embossing folder. Unfotunately these products (with the exception of the Argyle 3D embossing folder) are now retiring, which means they are only available until June 2nd (or earlier if sold out). View the Country Club suite HERE in my Online Store to check if there are any you want before they sell out.

For this card, I have used the inked embossing technique to create a two tone effect on the embossing folder (just brayer ink on the debossed side of the folder before you place the cardstock in and put it through your embossing machine. I used Night of Navy ink and Seaside Spray cardstock for this one.

How cute are the embellishments in this suite? The wood veneer coordinates with the look of the suite perfectly, and they just all come together really well with the stamp set and dies.

Stampin' Up! Bonanza Buddies stamp set and a Teen Birthday Card

Hello lovely stamping friends, and a very happy Easter to you all. I hope you are staying well and safe as you bunker down at home this Easter to keep others safe. Today I have a bright and happy birthday card for you, suitable for a teen, using Stampin' Up! bonanza Buddies stamp set and Bundle, from the 2020 January to June mini catalogue.

April is always a big month for us, as my husband, myself and both my son's all have birthdays within 23 days of each other. My youngest son kicked off with his 15th birthday recently, so this card was made for him.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Bonanza 2020 Teen Birthday Card

I love the bright happy colours in the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper. As well as being great for young kids, this suite is also perfect for teens as it has a great variety of  patterns.  I love this balloon design for it's bright colours and the bit of black in there which makes the colours pop even more. This design also coordinates perfectly with the Balloon Bouquet punch. The Toucan image is actually cut from the DSP using the 2" circle punch, and then I have added a black matt using the Starburst punch which fits perfectly. The 'Happy Birthday' greeting is from the stamp set. Just love how the style of the font coordinates with the images in Stampin' Up! stamp sets.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Bonanza 2020 Teen Birthday Card

Birthday presents often include some cash for my teens, so I needed to have a money pocket in this card. Some coordinating papers and another die cut toucan and stamped image finish off my card. I really love how this one turned out.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Bonanza 2020 Teen Birthday Card

Since then both my husband and I have both had our birthday, so we have 3 birthday cakes in 10 days! My eldest son made my birthday cake and it was a delightful Orange and Poppyseed loaf with cream cheese frosting. Very grateful that both my boys enjoyed food studies in high school :) It was delicious! One more birthday in the family still to come.

I hope you are finding things to keep you busy and in some way a little bit positive at this difficult time. For me it's been fresh air in the back garden, cups of teas, connecting by phone and online with family and friends, (lots of) Netflix (enjoyed the Harlen Coben series The Stranger and Safe), pottering in the garden and in my craft room. I miss catching up with my girlfriends for a cuppa though, and feel a bit funny about the borders being closed to Western Australia where my Mum and sisters live :( Even though I have up and down days, I am praying we can get through this  love, kindness and patience and the amazing hard work being done by our frontline and essential workers.

Art With Heart Team March Creative Showcase: Monochromatic Cards

AWHT Showcase Logo Rectangle

Welcome to the March Art with Heart Stampin' Up! Team Creative Showcase. This month the Art With Heart Team are featuring Monochromatic cards, that is cards that only use different shades of the same colour. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the wonderful range of Stampin’ Up! colours across our inks, papers and embellishments that can be combined to produce the amazing monochromatic samples we have to share with you. To be honest, I found this quite challenging as I am so used to creating with multiple colours.

Here's what I came up with using Rooted in Nature stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. I didn't realise my sentiment wasn't wonky until I edited the pictures, so another post photo correction (I'm on a roll the last week!).

This card is for a lovely man, who lost his wife of 50+ years last week. His wife was a lovely lady, with family values that I admired greatly, I can't imagine his feeling of loss, but I hope my words provide comfort in the months to come.

Stampin Up Monochromatic Rooted in Nature Sympathy card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

Here are the steps I took to make my card:

  1. I started with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock 10cm x 14.3cm.
  2. Using a Stampin' Sponge, I started lightly building up colour by spongeing in a circular motion. I started with Soft Sea Foam at the top, then Pear Pizazz and then Old Olive. I wanted the look of a hill which is why I sponged on an angle in a soft curve.
  3. As I was spongeing and going over the edges, this also provided some ink definition on the edges which I liked.
  4. Using an aquapainter, I squeezed a little water from the nib onto some scrap cloth, then flicked the excess off as I didn't want the drops too large. Then I flicked a couple of times onto the sponged piece to create the droplet effect.
  5. I stamped the tree from Rooted in Nature once in Mossy Meadow, and then again without reinking.
  6. My words are stamped in Old Olive onto some scrap Shimmery White which has been lightly sponged,
  7. Finally I tied a little linen thread around the bottom of the card and secured with tape on the back.
  8. I then adhered the whole cardfront onto a base Mossy Meadow card.

Before I made the card above, I came up with this one for my Monochromatic card. I wasn't 100% happy, so I made another card, but thought I would post this one too. I think I would use it as a retirement card for a male perhaps?

Stampin' Up! Country Club golf themed double easel masculine card plus some sad news.

Hello friends.

Thanks for being patient with me while I got back to posting. It's been a hard couple of weeks for our family. Our much loved white German Shepherd Oscar has been unwell over the last few weeks. We thought he was recovering after an operation, but late last week he deteriorated again and we had to make the tough decision to say goodbye to him. It's a heartbreaking thing to do as many of you would know. We are being comforted by the fact he was very loved and had a good life as part of our family. Here he is on his last beach holiday with us in late January.

Today I have a double easel card for you using the Country Club suite of products from the Stampin' Up! 2020 January to June Mini Catalogue.
