Campology Masculine Birthday Card and a Video Tutorial with 6 Ways to Use the NEW Stampin' Up! Masking Paper

Hello stamping friends.

One of the new products included in the 2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue was masking paper. For those not familiar with masking paper, it does as the name suggests - masks off areas of your project where you don't want ink to go. You can do this with other things as well, but the benefit of this specialised masking paper is that it is super thin plus adhesive and it doesn't leave as much of a halo around the edge. It's also reusable, and really reasonably priced. It is $12.25AUD for 12 5x7" sheets. Find the masking paper on page 149 of the Annual catalogue, or HERE in my online store.

I've put together a video showing 6 different techniques to use the masking paper, and included lots of tips along the way. The video features 5 cards, and I will share one of them here first. You can see how I did the stamping for this project (and the other 4 cards) in the video which is included below.

As I wanted the tent to appear in front of the trees in this masculine birthday card, I stamped the tent first and then masked it off before I stamped the trees. I love this Campology stamp set and haven't used it nearly enough, so I am grateful it carried over to the new catalogue. To finish my card off, I have used some of the DSP and a die-cut from He's the Man Specialty DSP, along with some linen thread and Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

Stampin' Up! For the Record birthday card for music lovers!

Hello there. Today I have a treat for anyone who loves music. It's a birthday card I made for my eldest son, who has this year started working in live sound production. Technically he doesn't own a lot of records, but this set is perfect for music lovers and any collector of old records!

The set I have used is For the Record, from the Stampin' Up! January to June Mini Catalogue.

I have used a piece of the Tahitian Tide DSP for the background paper, and combined it with Real Red, Basic Black and Basic White.

Stampin Up Tahitian Tide Colour / Color ComboI embossed the actual record in black embossing powder so it's nice and shiny. I cut it out using the largest circle in the Layering Circle Dies. The red striped piece is a stamp from the set, stamped in Real Red onto Basic White. The black and white piece is a piece of patterned paper from the new Perfectly Penciled  Designer Series Paper. The quotes are stamped straight from the stamp set in Tahitian Tide, Stazon Black and Real Red. I have finished off with some Tahitian Tide InColor dots which are coming on May 3rd!

Here's a closer look at the For The Record stamp set. This set won't be carrying over to the new 2022 Annual Catalogue, so if you like it, grab it before the January to June mini catalogue ends in June. You can find this set HERE in my online store.

Stampin' Up! Waves of Inspiration Masculine Birthday Card

Hello paper crafters!

Today I have a masculine birthday card for you featuring the Waves of Inspiration bundle which will be in the 2022-23 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue which starts on May 3rd (if you don't have a copy you can request one HERE). This bundle was released early, and it also had some coordinating papers, foil sheets and embellishments as part of the Waves of the Ocean suite / promotion. Only the bundle will be carrying on after May 2nd (see below for more details on the others). I think this suite is perfect for masculine cards.

This was a pretty simple card to make. Here are the steps:

  1. I started with a top folding base card of Crumb Cake.
  2. Next I have a layer of the DSP, and then I have tied two strands of Crumb Cake twine (from the basics twine pack) around the top.
  3. I stamped the Pelican image in Soft Suede and then cut that out with one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I attached that (with Dimensionals) over a small strip of Crumb Cake cardstock which was 1.8 x 10.5cm.
  4. I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting from the stamp set, and cut into thin strips which I attached over the image.
  5. Finally I added 3 of the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewells.

I also made this card using one of the three different coloured foil sheets on the wave die-cut. I really like the sentiments and font in this stamp set.

Colour Creations Week 32: Pacific Point & Stampin Up Let's Set Sail Bundle

Colour Creations 2021 to 2022 logoHi friends. I had a chance to do some creating on the weekend, so I am delighted to be able to participate in our weekly Art with Heart Team Colour Creations blog hop. Our team girls have lots of fun creating and sharing with you and each other, each week.

Today our colour is Pacific Point. This isn't a colour I tend to reach for very often, but I do like it. It's a nice bright blue.

271982786_10161506255433098_7839290409017039243_n

This colour always makes me think of the ocean, so I have chosen the new Let's Set Sail Bundle for my card today. This bundle consists of a stamp set and coordinating punch.

Stampin Up New 2022 Let's Set Sail Bundle. Masculine Birthday card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator, Melbourne, Australia.

This is a great new bundle. Punch bundles are usually quite a bit cheaper than die and stamp bundles, and I love the ease of just grabbing a punch instead of getting out my die cutting machine. This is a great stamp set for masculine cards, and has some versatile sentiments in a great font. I really like the different ocean stamps for grounding the sailing boat image too.

Stampin Up New 2022 Let's Set Sail Bundle.

Here is my colour combination for today's card.

Colour Combination Pacific Point, Real Red, Basic Gray.

To make this card I started with a C6 top folding card in Basic White. I then cut another layer 10cm x 14.3cm and cut a circle in the centre using the second largest Layering Circle Die. I then embossed that piece with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder (emboss after you cut the circle for the best effect). I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock slightly bigger than the die cut circle and blended some Pacific Point ink in an ombre pattern. This was adhered to the back of the die cut circle opening with some Tear and Tape. I then stamped the birds in Pacific Point ink at the top of the blending. This whole panel was attached to the card front using Dimensionals.

The ship is stamped in Basic Gray and the Sails in Real Read, and both cut out with the punch. I've adhered the sails with Dimensionals them up a little.

To finish my card I stamped the greeting in Basic Grey and cut it out with one of the Rectangle Stitched dies.

Stampin Up New 2022 Let's Set Sail Bundle. Masculine Birthday card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator, Melbourne, Australia.

I then tied a double strand of White bakers twine to the top of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed today's card. You can find the products I have used today in my online store, by using the links at the end of the post. Now it's time to see what the other ladies in the team have created using Pacific Point. Next up we have the lovely Sharon Davern.
