Stampin' Up! Masculine Card with Mountain Air with Cajun Craze

Colour Creations 2021 to 2022 logo

Hello friends. This week the Colour Creations ladies in the Art with Heart Team are playing with Cajun Craze. This is one of my least used Stampin' Up! colours, so it definitely was a challenge. Once I got the idea though, away I went.

I wanted to create a card for a very sick relative overseas. We enjoyed time together on their trip to Australia several years ago, so I wanted to come up with a card that let him know I was thinking of him at this very hard time, and that perhaps reminded him a little of Australia. Cajun Craze definitely is the colour of some of the Australian outback, and the Kimberley region especially.

I have used the Mountain Air stamp set from the 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, to create several layers of mountains by stamping in Early Espresso onto Cajun Craze and die cutting with the coordinating Majestic Mountain dies. I love the dimension you can achieve with these two products. The trees are from the same stamp set and dies, and my greeting from the Quiet Meadow stamp set.

I adhered these pieces onto a layer of shimmery white which I had applied ink using my blending brushes. The lowest area near the mountain range is Calypso Coral, then I blended in some Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and lastly some Misty Moonlight at the very top and edges. The birds from the stamp set were stamped in Misty Moonlight too.

I then mounted this piece onto some Cajun Craze cardstock, and an Early Espresso base card. I'm really pleased how this card turned out. There was a lot of love put into it, and I think it looks quite peaceful. You can view all of the products I have used in this card using the links at the end of the post.

Stampin' Up! Teenage Boy Birthday Card

Today I have a teen boy birthday card for you, featuring the Stampin Up  A Good Man stamp set. It's a super versatile masculine set and I have used it for lots of masculine cards. This one was for my son's 16th birthday during the week.

Stampin Up Teen Boy Birthday Card using A Good Man stamp set.

It's a very simple design. Here's what I did:

  1. My base card is Sahara Sand.
  2. Cut two pieces of Neurals 6x6" DSP. The darker piece on the right is 14cm x 5cm (or 2" x 5&7/8"), and the lighter piece is 7cm x 12.5cm (or 2&3/4" x 5").
  3. The image is stamped in Stazon Black ink, onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper. I have used Bermuda Bay for the shirt, Seaside Spray for the deck chair stripes and a combination of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for the hat and shorts. There are also a few strokes of Sahara Sand under the chair.
  4. The coloured image is cut out using the largest cirle in the Stitched Shapes dies (these are retiring soon, so get in quick).
  5. I then used my blending brushes and a litle Pool Party ink to add a little sky colour around the top half of the image.
  6. The label for the sentiment is cut using Stitched Nested Dies (also retiring soon). I wish I could tell you which set I used to stamp the greeting, but the stamped label was in my 'stamped and not used' tray, and now I can't remember!
  7. The number '16' is adhesive letters from my scrapbooking stash pre Stampin' Up! days.

Masculine card idea for the men and boyfriends in your life.

Hi friends. Today I am sharing a Stampin' Up! simple card idea, which is perfect for the men and/or boyfriends in your life. It's also great for anyone who loves aviation or old planes. The stamp set is called Soar Confidently, and it's a new stand alone stamp set from the 2021 January to June mini catalogue. I've kept the layout and design of this card super simple, so it would be a great card for beginner cardmakers as well.

Stampin' Up! Soar Confidently Stamp Set and Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder. 2021 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

As you can see my card design is super simple. It's just a couple of the Stitched Rectangle dies cut shapes with a greeting. The ink blended piece is actually a piece of the Sand and Sea Designer Series paper (coming January 5th in the 2021 January to June mini catalogue). My image and sentiment is just stamped in Soft Suede ink. When you have a simple design, you can add WOW to your card really easily by embossing the cardfront. The Absolutely Argyle 3D embossing folder is perfect for masculine cards and is available now in my online store. I also added some Braided Linen Trim (also available now) and adhered with Glue Dots to get the looped effect.

Stampin' Up! Soar Confidently Stamp Set and Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder. 2021 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia
The Soar Confidently stamp set has some great sentiments for a range of masculine cards, and a couple of great balloon images as well. I think it's great for birthday and fathers day cards. Keep an eye out for it in the new 2021 January to June mini catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Masculine Sympathy Card Idea and a great Stampin' Up! Colour Combination for Men.

Hello friends. Today I am sharing a masculine sympathy card idea using Stampin' Up! products from the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! catalogue. Sympathy cards are difficult to make at the best of times, but coming up with ideas for sympathy cards for men can be even more challenging.

Masculine sympathy card using Stampin Up 2020 Annual Catalogue cardmaking supplies including Well Said stamp set, Well Written Dies, Subtle embossing folder and a masculine colour combination. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I chose to keep my card simple and classic, use colours that felt masculine to me, and feature the sentiment in a small cluster of die cuts. The sentiments are from the Well Said stamp set, and the stems are from the coordinating Well Written Dies. The heart is from the Detailed Hearts Die.

I really love how the colour combination turned out for this card. Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider are my two favourites of the 2020-22 InColours, and they look great together for masculine cards.

I have used the Subtle Embossing Folder again. I seem to use it in on so many cards these days. It's really classic.
