Stampin' Up! Country Home 'Hello' Card

Hello crafty friends. I hope you are having an enjoyable Saturday. It's a cool drizzly weekend here in Melbourne. Tennis was washed out, so I had a nice sleep in and now I am catching up on some blogging. I love lazy Saturdays.

I also love all things floral and vintage, so the Country Home stamp set in the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue really grabbed my attention. I love the interchangeable vintage vases and floral arrangements.

I have coloured the image with Stampin' Blends as I love the saturation of colour they give me, and the superior blending. The Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series paper is a great accompaniment to this stamp set.

Another thing I really like about this stamp set is that it has lots of sentiments included with the images. One of the sentiments also coordinates with the Tin Tile textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Here's a look at the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper. Like the name suggests, it has a lovely frosted pearl shimmer finish.

Week 15 AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop - Daffodil Delight

Colour Creations 300

Daffodil Delight

Hey there, it's time for some more Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team Colour Creations inspiration. This week we are playing with another yellow, Daffodil Delight. I am totally in love with a couple of the country themed products in the 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. The Country Home stamp set is a lovely set to colour, and the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder has been flying off the shelves.

Stampin' Up! Country Home stamp set coloured with Stampin Blends. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I have used the following Stampin' Blends to colour the image:

  • Smoky Slate combo
  • Crumb Cake Combo
  • Old Olve Combo
  • Daffodil Delight Combo
  • Lovely Lipstick Combo

After I embossed the Smoky Slate cardstock with the Tin Tile embossing folder, I rubbed some Smoky Slate ink over the top with a Stampin' Sponge. The little scalloped piece I have used at the join of the Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate cardstock, is a piece from the Laser Cur specialty paper which I sponged Basic Grey ink onto using a sponge dauber.

Here's my colour combination for today:

My greeting is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set. I seem to use that a lot! This photo shows the subtle embossing I have done on the Daffodil Delight piece as well, This was using the very approriately named Subtle Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, which gives a lovely textured look. This is great when you want to dress up a piece of cardstock, just a little bit.

Here's a look at the beautiful Country Home stamp set. It's photopolymer, so super easy to line up the flowers and the jugs.

Week 14 AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop - Crushed Curry

Colour Creations 300

Crushed Curry

I thought this week was going to be a big challenge for me, but in the end I came up with two cards!

My first card came to me relatively easy, as I had a sponged piece left over from the swap cards I made for the Alaska Stampin' Up! trip. I had used Crushed Curry along with Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry in the sponged piece, so I cut that down and mounted it onto a card front sized piece of Berry Burst cardstock.

Stampin Up Celebrate Thinlits and Very Vintage stamp set 2018 Annual Catalogue card. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

The stamp set I used was Very Vintage (in the Stampin' Reward section of the Annual Catalogue). I stamped this in Berry Burst around the image and then sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry. I mounted it onto a Rich Razzleberry card, and used Fresh Fig ribbon and twine to embellish, along with some clear Rhinestones which I had coloured with my Stampin' Blends (I used dark Lovely Lipstick and Dark Rich Razzleberry). My greeting is die cut from the Celebrate You thinlits, in Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry. Here's my colour combination for this card, and a close up.

I was going to leave it at that, but then I was wandering through IKEA on Saturday, and came across this rug with a colour combination that really caught my eye, so I thought I would try and recreate a similar combination in a card.

Here's what I came up with, but I also added in some Mint Macaron.

Stampin Up Stitched Labels, Petals and More and Eclectic Layers thinlits 2018 Annual Catalogue card. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I've used lots of different Framelit sets and was definitely inspired by cards I have seen recently by Connie Collins and Vicky Boucher. Thanks for the inspiration ladies (oh and IKEA). Here's my colour combination and a closer look at the layers.

We are having lots of team fun, and definitely being pushed right out of our comfort zone. So lucky to have team members who love to have fun creating and sharing with each other.  Now it's time to head back over to the blog of Catherine Proctor, our wonderful blog hop coordinator for Colour Creations, to see the other ladies who are participating this week.

Chat again tomorrow when our wonderful Christmas catalogue goes live!

Stampin' Up! Distinktive Stamps: Healing Hugs from 2018 Annual Catalogue

Hello crafters.

Today I have one of the new stamp sets from the 2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue to showcase. It's called Healing Hugs.

2018 Stampin' Up! card using Healing Hugs from 2018-19 Annual Catalogue. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. #stampinup2018 #stampinupcardideas #healing hugs #distinktive

This is a great set to add to your collection for several reasons:

  • As well as the gorgeous floral image, it has 4 really great usable sentiments for get well cards. The one I have used above is something I always seem to be saying to friends when they are unwell, so I was pleased to see it in a stamp set.
  • This stamp set is one of our Distinktive range of stamps. These stamps are manufactured in a way that created the texture and dimension in just one stamping. I love that as it saves me time and still gives a realistic WOW effect.
  • It's really reasonable prices. Just $37 for the clear mount version.

You can find Healing Hugs HERE In My Online Stampin' Up! store (or on page 110 in the paper copy of the 2018 Annual Catalogue).

Stampin Up Healing Hugs from 2018 Annual Catalogue. Buy in my online store in Australia (click through for link)

It's definitely a set I would recommend from the new catalogue.

OTHER NEW PRODUCTS / TIPS & TRICKS

Here's a few other things to note about this card:

  • I have used  pre-coloured note-cards to speed up my creating. The Delightfully Detailed cards have 4 different watercolour look bases (2 designs in Mint Macaron and 2 Designs in Blackberry Bliss) and you get 5 of each in a pack (link at end of post).
  • The laser cut paper (my second layer) has been hugely popular among demonstrators to create an easy extra WOW! It's super easy to add colour to coordinate with any project as well. I just used my sponge brayer to colour it Soft Sea Foam (one of my FAVE new colours).
  • I added a little bit of extra texture with a simple scrap of ribbon under the flower. I keep my scraps of embellishments in a bowl as you never know when they are going to be handy.

You can check out all the products I have used today in the links at the end of my post.

Retiring Stampin' Up! Petal Passion Designer Series Paper

Oh how I loved this Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from the 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue. I've loved working with it, but it's now onto the Stampin' Up! Retiring Products List, and only available while stocks last through May 31st.

Petal Passion

The three main reasons I loved it, were:

  • It is a great neutral paper as a black and while, but this one for me was particularly useful because the contrast of the black was toned down quite a bit by the sketch look of the images, so there is actually quite a lot of softer grey in there too;
  • It has a floral / nature theme which are my favourite paper themes (anyone who follows my Instagram ill know how much I love flowers and plants).
  • It was FABULOUS to colour with Stampin' Blends (which are back in stock within weeks now and 11 fabulous new colours (in light and dark) are coming June 1st!
  • It coordinates beautifully with the Petal Palette bundle (carrying over to the 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, but only available at the 10%  bundle price until May 31st.

So as you can see, it is super versatile. Here are a couple of cards I made with this beautiful paper,

For this card, I have just used different colours of the Stampin' Blends to colour flowers on the paper.

PP Blends

In between the flowers I sponged some Soft Sky ink. The card just needed a simple black and white sentiments but I have also added a few rhinestones to some of the flower centres.

In PP blends

For my second card, I have used one of my favourite colour combinations with this paper: Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

Painted Palette CC

For the floral image, I have stamped the image from the Petal Palette Stamp Set (see links at end of post) and in Memento Black, and coloured with the Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I have used one of the coordinating embellishments, some Old Olive ribbon and a greeting cut from one of the coordinating Memory and More cards.

Painted Palette CC 2.

Check out the links at the end of this post, and don't miss out on the beautiful Petal Passion paper pack, along with the coordinating embellishments and Memories and More pack (only available while stocks last or May 31st) and bundle pricing on the Petal Palette bundle (ends May 21st).

If you shop online with me, don't forget to use the May Hostess Code for a free gift in mid June. My customers love getting their gifts in the mail.
