Stampin Up Snowflake Splendor Christmas Card with Inlaid Embossing

Hello friends. Today I have another Christmas card for you. It uses the Snowflake Splendor suite of products from the 2020 Stampin Up August to December Holiday Catalogue.

I love how this card turned out with the pastel colours. There isn't any stamping on this card; it's all punched, die cut or embossed. I have used the Inlaid Embossing technique on the main layer which creates texture and interest. Instructions are below (but it's so easy!).

Stampin Up Snowflake Splendor 2020 Christmas Card using Inlaid Embossing Technique. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I love the variation in colourin this Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. This one I have used for the background looks like it has been created with sponging and inking. It's beautiful to create with.

Inlaid Embossing Technique Instructions

Inlaid embossing just refers to the pieces you add to the card, also being included in the embossing. For this card:

  1. Start with a piece of the Snowflake Splendor DSP 9.9cm x 14.2cm which I adhered to a piece of cardstock the same size for extra weight.
  2. Punch three pieces of coordinating Snowflake Splendor DSP, using the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.
  3. Adhere these evenly across the centre of the card using glue or Stampin' Seal.
  4. Emoss this whole piece in the Winter Snow Embossing Folder.

Here's the piece before it was embossed.

and here is the piece after it was embossed  with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder to create the Inlaid Embossing.

After I had completed this layer, I sponged the edges in Misty Moonlight ink (using a sponge dauber) and then placed it onto a thin mat of Balmy Blue Cardstock, and onto a base card of Highland Heather.

Next I die cut the snowflakes in Balmy Blue Glimmer paper and Balmy Blue cardstock, using the So Many Snowflakes Dies, and popped one of the Blue Adhesive Backed Gems in the centre of each (they come in different sizes which suited my project). For the sentiment I used my Word Wishes dies and Purple Posy cardstock.

The Word Wishes Dies are a super versatile die set to own as you can create so many different die cut sentments. You can get even more sentiments when you combine it with the coordinating stamp set called A Wish for Everything. Here's a look at these two great products.

Sparkly Poinsettia Petals Stampin' Up! Card Idea for Christmas 2020

Hey friends.

Today I have a super sparkly card for you using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. This would make an awesome 2020 Christmas card! I have also taken advantage of the October Stampin' Up! patterned paper sale by creating a DSP background.

Stampin Up Poinsettia Petals card idea with Poinsettia Place DSP. 2020 Christmas card by Claire Daly Melbourne Australia.

This patterned paper background is one I have used over and over again. Here's the measurements so you can make it yourself.

  • The base card is a standard C6 top folding card
  • The Cherry Cobbler cardstock layer is 10.0cm x 14.3 cm
  • The left side piece of DSP is 13.9cm x 2.7cm
  • The right top side piece is 8.5cm x 2.7cm
  • The right bottom piece is 5.2cm x 2.7cm

The Poinsettia Place DSP is one of the DSP's on sale during October too. You can find it using the links at the end of the post.

For the rest of the card, I stamped the 3 layers of the Poinsettia, and a couple of the leaves in Black Stazon onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper. I then watercoloured in Real Red and Cherry Cobbler. To get the amazing sparkle, I painted all the leaves with my clear Wink of Stella Pen (links at end of post).

My sentiment is from another stamp set called Joy and Peace, as I just wanted a small sentiment. I finished my card off with some gold cord trim and Gilded Gems. I'm really loving this beautiful Poinsettia flower and the dimension you can get by layering it and adding the gorgeous beaded pearl embellishment on top.

Watercoloured Poinsettia 2020 Slimline Christmas Card using Stampin Up Poinsettia Petals

Hello crafty friends. Today I have another slimline card for you, a 2020 Christmas card using Stampin' Up! Poinsettia Petals bundle from the 2020 Stampin' Up! August to December Mini Catalogue. The whole Poinsettia Place Suite is so pretty!

Stampin Up Watercoloured Poinsettia Petals 2020 Christmas Card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

For my card, I started with a 21cm x 10cm slimline Crumb Cake card base and I added a layer of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper. This has a luscious flocked design on vellum and is so pretty, plus adds great texture. I've added more texture by looping some Braided Linen Trim below where I planned for my flower and greeting to go.

Stampin Up slimline Poinsettia Petals 2020 Christmas Card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

To create my flower, I gold embossed the three different sized poinsettia's from the Poinsettia Petal stamp set onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (links below). I then spritzed with water and used then added watery ink from the lid of my ink pad (created this by dropping a couple of drops of water into the ink residue in the lid - just make sure you wipe with a paper towel when finished so you don't dilute your ink pad). Becuae the watercolor paper is wet, the colour quickly spreads and you get a random distribution of the colour. I love this messy watercolour look. I used tw colours on the flower, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.

I layered these together with a Dimensional between each layer and the gorgeous Beaded Pearls (links below) as the flower centre.

Here's a closer look at the gorgeous Beaded Pearl flower centres. You get 18 pieces in a pack and they are approximately 1.3cm wide.

A simple Stampin' Up! Wishes and Wonder Christmas bundle Christmas card and all five made with this bundle, in one post.

Hey stampers.

Here's the last of the five of the Stampin' Up! Wishes and Wonder bundle Christmas cards I have made for Christmas 2020. Time to move onto some other suites. Before I do that, I wanted to showcase all five of the cards I have made with this bundle again. Let's start with today's card.

Create this Stampin Up Wishes and Wonder bundle Christmas card with easy instructions. Also features 'Tis the Season DSP. 2020 Christmas card by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I have used the 'Tis the Season Designer Series Paper for this card. This paper is fabulous as it coordinates with both Real Red and Cherry Cobbler for the reds, and with both Garden Green and Shaded Spruce for the greens. I really like the monotone small patterned designs too. I have used the Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce designs on this card. The paper pack is 6x6" and comes with 48 sheets (4 each of 12 double sided designs).

Create this Stampin Up Wishes and Wonder bundle Christmas card with easy instructions. Also features 'Tis the Season DSP. 2020 Christmas card by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

To make this card you need the following pieces of Designer Series Paper:

  • 10.3cm x 14.5cm (attaches to the base layer)
  • 7cm x 11cm and adhered to a mat of cardstock 7.2cm x 11.2cm - this is the Shaded Spruce piece on my card.
  • 9cm x 2.5cm and adhered to a mat of cardstock 9.2cm x 2.7cm - this is the Cherry Cobbler piece under the sentiment.

The piece for the sentiment is 1.9cm (3/4") and I cut banners in the end using the new Banners Pick a Punch which is designed to cut banners both ways in strips of cardstock 1/2", 3/4" and 1".

The Reindeer (cut in Brass Foil Cardstock) and Shaded Spruce stitched shape are both cut from the North Pole Wonder Dies which are a part of this bundle. I finished the card off with some looped gold edged ribbon (from the All the Trimmings Ribbon Combo pack) and some gilded gems.

Wishes and Wonder Christmas Card using Inked Embossing Folder Technique.

Hello stamping friends.

Today I am back with a Christmas card using Wishes and Wonder bundle from the Stampin' Up! 2020 August to December Mini Catalogue (previously called the Holiday Catalogue). It also uses one of the pieces I made in my Inked Embossing Folder video in my last post.

Learn how to make a handmade 2020 Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products including Wishes and Wonder stamp set and coordinating dies and some of the newest 2020 Christmas patterned paper for cardmaking. Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I have used the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder as the inked embossing folder piece on this card. I just LOVE this embossing folder for Christmas 2020. It's a 6x6" 3D Folder which gives you lots of embossing space. You can find the links to all the products I have used today, at the end of the post. I have used Gray Granite ink over Shimmery White cardstock on this piece. I have also used Gray Granite for my base card.

I've used two different Designer Series Papers on this card.  The first one is the Plaid Tidings DSP with lots of different coloured plaids. I love some of the bright bold ones, but today I have used the subtle Crumb Cake pattern.

Christmas 2020 cardmaking patterned paper. Plaid Tidings by Stampin' Up! 6x6" 48 sheet pad available in my online Stampin' Up! store in Australia.

The second Christmas patterned paper I have used is Trimming the Town. I particularly love the piece that has all of the Christmas sentiments in lots of languages. I have used this on the die cut label in the card. I adhered it to a piece of cardstock before die cutting to give some extra weight.

Christmas 2020 cardmaking patterned paper. Trimming the Town by Stampin' Up! 12 double sided 12x12" 48 sheet pad available in my online Stampin' Up! Store in Australia.I have coloured the gold embossed sleigh using the dark Cherry Cobbler and dark Real Red Stampin' Blends. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red, and the circle as well as the shape it's placed on are cut from the coordinating dies (as is the sleigh). To finish my card I have used the Wonderful Gem embellishments, and the Forever Greenery Trim combo.

Here's another look at the Wishes and Wonder Bundle. This is a great versatile bundle for 2020 and I have already made quite a few cards with it. You can find them linked at the end of the post.
