Stampin' Up! Mountain Air stamp set with ink blending for the sky and moon.

Today I have another version on an ink blended card I showed you last month. This one has different colours and I really like how they work together. It uses the Stampin' Up! Mountain Air stamp set from the 2020 Annual Catalogue and I have used Stampin' Up! sponge brayers to create the ink blending effect. There's also a bit of the Very Versailes Stamp Set in there, again from the 2020 Annual Catalogue.

I've created a video to show you how I achieved the ink blending and moon on this one.

I just love the Stampin' Up! Sponge Brayers for ink blending. They are really affordable and for just $14, you get two handles and 4 replaceable sponge heads.

My colours for the brayering are Rich Razzleberry, Mango Melody and So Saffron. My base card is Crumb Cake, and I added a thin mat of Basic Black around the stamped layer.

To embellish my card, I have used Gilded Gems.  My sentiment and the stamping on the banner under the sentiment, are both from Very Versailles stamp set. I also used this for the leaves and branches at the top of the card.

 

Here's a closer look at the two stamp sets I have used today. First up, Very Versailles.

Then Mountain Air. This stamp set also has coordinating dies, and you can also stamp the solid for each mountain range shape using the reverse of the stamps. It's a fabulous set.

Sponge brayered sky and moon with Stampin' Up! Mountain Air and Very Versailles Stamp Set

Hello stampers. Coming to you safely at home during the Melbourne curfew hours of 8pm to 5am. Honestly, today was so cold, there was no way I wanted to be outside anyway! It even snowed in the outer suburbs, and it was 7 degrees at 3.30pm in the afternoon. Brrrr.

Today's card was inspired by a photo I took in Rome last year, at dusk. I loved the colours of the sky so much I wanted to try and create a similar look using sponge brayers.

Here's what I came up with. I added a moon in there too, and because I didn't have any stamps of the Rome skyline, I used the mountain scenery stamps from Mountain Air which I absoutely love and must play with again very soon.

I've used the retired Purple Posy ink pad, as well as a combination of Petal Pink and Blushing Bride for the sky. For the other stamping I have used the Very Versaille stamp set and the Mountain Air stamp set, with Memento Black ink.

I have also used the Very Versailles stamp set for the sentiment (Stamped in Basic Grey), and some stamping from the same set on a strip of Purple Posy cardstock. The embellishments are from the Elegant Faceted Gems embellishment pack.

I created the banner ends using the fabulous new Banners Pick a Punch, which punches two different banners in 3 different sizes, so it's really 6 punches in one! Great value and a huge timesaver for perfect banner ends every time. 

Here's a closer look at the two stamp sets I have used today. First up Very Versailles which is one I have used quite a bit.

Here is Mountan Air. This is my first creation with this stamp set, but I can't wait to play some more. I have shown it here with the coordinating Majestic Mountain dies. This is one of the current bundles where if you purchase them together you will get 10% off.

Ink Blending with Stampin Up Sponge Brayers and reverse watercolour technique with Celebrate Sunflowers

Hey there,

Today I am going to show you how to use Stampin' Up! Spronge Brayers for ink blending to create an ombre background (and they are only great value, $14 for 4 heads and 2 handles). I also have another  technique I am not even sure of the proper name for (if there is even one), but which is simple and hardly needs any supplies for, so I wanted to show you. I'm going to call it reverse watercolouring.

I'm really loving the colour Bumble Bee. It's such a vibrant yellow, but also warm and welcoming.

Stampin' Up! Saleabration second release sneak peek: Flowering Foils

Hello stampers, happy March.

Saleabration has just one month left to run, but it's about to get a whole lot more exciting with the release of 5 brand new Saleabration choices. Today I can give you a sneak peek of one of the choices, which is the Flowering Foils Designer Paper. This paper is printed with Rose Gold and Silver floral designs on a white background. The cool thing is you can alter the colour of the white background with spongeing or brayering, so it lends itself to some fabulous inky creations.

Here's a couple of cards I have made with this paper. For this first card, I have brayered ink in an ombre pattern with Seaside Spray ink. I have then used the Poppy Moments Bundle to complete my card.

On this second card, I have gone for a more dramatic look and brayered with Blackberry Bliss ink. There are so many possibilities with this paper.
