Stampin' Up! Prized Peony Birthday Card coloured with Stampin' Blends

Hey friends,

Back with a birthday card today, using the beautiful Prized Peony stamp set coloured with Stampin' Blends.

Stampin Up Prized Peony Coloured with Stampin Blends by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. 2020 Annual Catalogue

I didn't catch the light terribly well onto the card front on the full photo, so this one is probably a better indication of true colour.

I have use Purple Posy and Highland Heather combos for my Stampin' Blends colours and Crumb Cake for my base card and layers. Isn't that Dainty Diamonds embossing folder pretty?

I've also made a YouTube video to show you how I went about colouring the Peony. I hope you like it!

Stampin' Up! Whiskey Business coloured with Stampin' Blends, plus tip to give the look of liquid

Hello stampers. Today I have a masculine card for you, featuring Whiskey Business stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

Here's my Whiskey Business card. Whiskey seems to be pretty popular among our male family and friends, so I needed this stamp set. My base card is Cinnamon Cider, and the front is embossed using the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder. The patterned paper is from the In Good Taste Designer Series paper pack. This pack has such great neutral textures.

Stampin Up Whiskey Business masculine card. 2020 birthday card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia.

I've coloured my image in Stampin' Blends. I have used Smoky Slate and a tiny bit of Seaside Spray on the decanter, Smoky Slate on the glass, and Cinnamon Cider with a bit of Daffodil Delight blended in for the whiskey. I've also used Daffodil Delight on the lemon twist.

Tip: to get a realistic look of liquid with some dimension, use a Fine Tip Glue pen after the Stampin' Blends have dried. I learned this tip from the lovely Linda Bauwin on an Incentive Trip many years ago when she was demonstrating colouring wine in glasses.

To finish my card off, I have adhered the decanter and glass to a circle die cut from the Stitched Shapes dies. The glass is adhered with Dimensionals, as is the Stitched Shape and the DSP (I adhered the DSP to a layer of cardstock to give it some more weight). Finally I have added some Linen Thread, and an embossed greeting from Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. Even though there are some great sentiments in this set, I wanted a birthday sentiment. This new Happiest of Birthdays from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue has been really popular.  It's certainly one I know I will be getting lots of use from.

Your Creative Connection 110: Hey Dude

600 pixels

Hey crafty people! It's time for another global Your Creative Connection Showcase #YCC110. This month our theme is Hey Dude, as in masculine cards. This was perfect timing for me, as one of my son's needed a birthday card for a mate this week. He likes to fish and also hang out at the river, so I wanted to incorporate water somehow. This new DSP (the blue waves one) is from Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper (all the links for products I have used today are at the end of the post), and was perfect to represent the ocean.

Stampin Up A Good Man and Many Mates stamp set. 2020 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I used one of the 4 patterns of the Sahara Sand DSP from the new 6x6" Neutrals paper pack as the sand. The stamped image is from A Good Man stamp set which I'm so glad has carried over to this years 2020 Annual Catalogue, because it's a favourite of mine to watercolour. I just picked up the colours from the DSP (Pacific Point and Sahara Sand) and added in Crumb Cake for some watercolouring, and Early Espresso for the greeting.

Stampin Up A Good Man and Many Mates stamp set. 2020 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I've used a new greeting set on this card. It's called Many Mates, and I love it! It's new in this year's 2020 Annual Catalogue and has sentiments for the outside and inside of cards, plus great modern fonts. It's perfect for a wide variety of cards. I used the 'I'm glad your were born' sentiment inside the card as it seemed like the kind of random thing teen boys might jokingly say to each other.

I'm looking forward to see what my demonstrator friends around the world have done with today's masculine theme. First up it's time to visit Dawn Olchefske in Minnesota, USA.

Simple Birthday Card using Stampin' Up! Flowers for Every Season Memories and More Card Pack

Hello friends, I hope you are enjoying the start of a long weekend (well it is here in Australia :) )

It's been a super busy week in Stampin' Up! with the launch of both the 2020 Annual Catalogue, and the new updated version of the Stampin' Up!  online store (I love the crisp clean new look and fabulous graphics).

Today I have a quick and easy birthday card for you, created using the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More card pack (page 155 in the paper catalogue, or HERE in the online store).

Quick and Easy Flowers for Every Season 2020 Stampin Up cards by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

Here's what I love about this card pack:

  • It's really reasonably priced (just $19.25) and you get stacks to work with including cards using you can use as layers on cardfronts or in pocket scrapbooking, as well as heavy weight stickers (such as the gorgeous ombre 'happy' word I have used here.
  • It has a variety of cards so that the pack coordinates with the entire 2020-22 new Stampin' Up! Incolors. I have used Misty Moonlight and Magenta Madness cardstock, but you can also get a pack of coordinating Memories and More Cards which has 10 cards and envelopes (2 of each new InColour). The great thing about these coordinating cards (shown below) is that they are perfectly sized, so you just need to adhere a large card to the cardfront, or a small card fits inside the preprinted dotted border on the card. How simple is that?

Here's a look at the Flowers for Every Season Card Pack and coordinating Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Cards and Envelopes.

It's really easy to just add a greeting and some quick embellishments and you are done.
