Quick and Easy Stampin' Up! Abstract Beauty Cards

If you are a fan of quick and easy cards, the Stampin' Up! Abstract Beauty products I am going to show you today will be just the thing for you. It is so quick and easy to make this bright bunch of cards using three main products, and your choice of sentiment stamp set.

Stampin Up Abstract Beauty quick and easy Stampin Up cards by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

To start with you need a pack of pre-printed Abstract Beauty Cards and Envelopes. You get 20 cards and envelopes in a pack for just $17.50. There are lots of different designs and colours and each card has a coordinating envelope.

158050

Next up you will need the Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack for $11.25. This has a bunch of awesome cardstock and vellum die cuts you can use to embellish your cards (you get 2 of each of the ones shown here). Great price too.

158151

Finally there is the coordinating Abstract Beauty DSP and this time it's a new size - 6" x 4". The patterns and colours coordinate perfectly with the other products, and you get 48 6x4" double sided sheets. There's also some gold foiling in there.

158039

There are also some great more neutral designs in this pack which can be used for other projects, like this wedding card I made for my niece and her new husband.

Stampin' Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit and 4 alternative Christmas Card Designs & Video

Hi friends, today I have a treat for you if you love to stamp with kits. The new Stampin' Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit is so amazing, I had to do a video about it!

Love Santa Tag Kit Alternatives by Claire Daly. Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

The Love, Santa Tag Kit is $33 and is an all inclusive (yep, including the stamps, ink and acrylic block too!) and the tags are gorgeous! I was really surprised how big they are so you have plenty of room to write on the back. They are also really bright and would be perfect for kids and grandkids too. There's even some coordinating treat bags (sold separately and you get 12 bags for $12.25).

Find the Love, Santa Tag Kit HERE in my online store.

Check out my video showing what's in the kits, the tags and hear about the cards I made.

I'm really please how these cards and tags turned out. The kit is amazing value and I am sure you will have bits and pieces in your craft stash which you could use to make some of the tags into Christmas cards if you wanted to.

Quick and Easy 10 Minute Stampin Up Snail Mail Get Well Card

Hello crafty friends! Today's card came together quickly and easily, when I saw some black and white patterned paper scraps I had sitting on my desk, and decided I wanted to use them on a card. I wanted to make a happy and bright get well card for a friend, and the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper had a nice bright piece which was perfect to compliment my sentiment.

Stampin Up Snail Mail 2021 Get Well card by Claire Daly

All you need is a base card in Blushing Bride  (but you could choose any of the other coordinating colours in this lovely DSP), followed by a layer of DSP which is 14cm x 9.7cm. Then I just adhered the DSP scraps, and a small strip of Blushing Bride cardstock.

Stampin Up Snail Mail 2021 Get Well card by Claire Daly

My sentiment is from So Sentimental stamp set, and I have used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut that out. It is adhered to the card using Dimensionals, and a teeny red Resin Heart (from the Snail Mail Product Suite as well) is attached. This was a super quick and easy card. All done in 10 minutes! This design would be easy to make in a variety of patterned paper designs or whenever you have scraps laying around. Get well cards are definitely great ones to have on hand.

5 Stampin' Up! Punches every Card Maker Needs.

Hello crafty friends. You know the saying 'everything is easier when you have the right tools?'. Well that applies to card making too, and one of my most common 'go-to' tools is a paper punch. Punches are quick and easy to use, yet small so they are easy to store and don't take up too much room on your craft desk. They are also a great alternative to die cutting when you are going away on a craft weekend or crafting in a caravan.  Stampin' Up! has a great range of really great quality punches, so today I wanted to tell you about my top 5 picks for punches for card makers. These are my most used and most versatile punches I seem to use all the time. In a couple of instances I couldn't split between two punch types so I have a couple with two choices.

Stampin Up Punches and a card being put together using punched shapes.

1. Large Circle Punches

Circle punches are a must for cardmakers. I particularly like the large ones because you can use them to cut out a stamped images,or  add some elements with patterned paper, or visually break up the rectangle shapes on a card. They are also great to cut a circle window for a shaker card. My favourite in this category is our biggest circle punch, the 2 & 1/4" Circle Punch.

2. Banners or Lovely Label Pick a Punch

These two punches are a really versatile pick, as they allow you to cut sentiment labels in 3 widths, any length you choose, and you can select one of two different ends for the labels. So in effect you cut cut 6 different sentiment labels of any length from each punch. We have two in this cataegory, so adding one of these punches to your cardmaking supplies will really add versatility for sentiments.

This first one has two different decorative ends, and is called the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

The second one in this category has banner ends (both inward facing and outward facing) and is called Banners Pick a Punch.

Top 5 Stampin Up Punches Every Cardmaker Needs in 2021.

3. Tag Topper Punches

The next punch category that you need is a tag topper punch, and we have 3 different designs to choose from, that basically do the same thing. Tag Topper punches are amazing because they allow you to turn a strip of cardstock of any length into a tag with one punch! The hole for the ribbon or trim is included in the punch design so it's so quick and easy. In addition to gift tags, you can use tags on cards and on scrapbooking pages.

As I mentioned we have 3 different Tag Topper punches, so choose which one you like best. My personal favourite is the Delightful Tag Topper Punch (shown top in the picture below), because it allows you to cut tags in widths of 1", 1& 1/2" and 2". The Scalloped Tag Topper (shown bottom in the picture below and used on the tag pictured) and the Fancy Tag Topper (shown middle in the picture below) both cut 2" wide tags, and the hole for ribbon or trim is a little wider in case you want to add wider trim.

Top 5 Stampin Up Punches Every Cardmaker Needs in 2021.

4. Label Punches

Every cardmaker needs a versatile shaped label punch in their card making supplies. These are punches that will fit a variety of sentments and also add a bit of statement on their own with their shape. We have lots of label punches in our punch collection at Stampin' Up!, but these are the two I think that are my top two choices in this category.

My first suggestion for a label punch is the Double Oval Punch, which is a new punch in the 2021 January to June Mini Catalogue. I love this because it has two layers of the label in one punch, so it's great value and gives great dimension with layering. You can mix up the colours to vary the effect as well.

Top 5 Stampin Up Punches Every Cardmaker Needs in 2021.

My other suggested option for a label punch (if you prefer a different shape) is the Label Me Fancy Punch. This is a real multi-tasker when it comes to punches. You get the great decorative label shape, and you can also use other parts of the punch to punch a hole for twine, or a slot for ribbon. These parts of the punch can also be used on other labels too - so clever!

5. Corner Rounder

My last must-have punch is a corner rounder. This is great for adding some softness to the card design by taking away some of the sharp corners. In true Stampin' Up! style, our corner rounder doesn't do just one thing, it does three. The punch actually has three separate sections. One gives a perfect rounded corner, another cuts a decorative floral corner (which works in combination with the rounded corner if you choose), and the other section cuts a small oval shape for twine or ribbon. Another really versatile punch that I use a lot.

I hope you have found this run-down of my most used punches handy. You can purchase any of the punches using the links in each section, and can view the entire Stampin' Up! punch collection HERE in my online store or contact me to get the paper catalogues sent out.

Punch Bundles

Punches are better with coordinating stamps! Quickly cut out stamped images and save 10% (on both the punch and coordinating stamp set) with convenient stamp & punch bundles. There are 14 different stamp and punch bundles (including several of the punches we have used today), and you can find them HERE in the online store.

Simple and easy handmade card ideas using Stampin' Up! supplies

Hello stamping friends. Today I am sharing with you some simple and easy handmade card ideas using Stampin' Up! supplies and I also have a free PDF tutorial for you to show you exactly what I did with each card. These are great cards for beginners, and the stampset, watercolour pencils and note card and envelope packs are inexpensive items to get you started in your card making hobby.

Stampin Up Simple and Quick 2020 watercolour pencil card ideas using Stampin Up supplies. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

Even though I have used Stitched Rectangle dies in my card, I have given the measurements in the tutorial to just cut a rectangle for these pieces. You could also substitute a rectangle of patterned paper for the two cards where I have used the vellum doily coloured with Stampin' Blends (again the measurements are in the tutorial). The vase and the mason jar are from the Jar of Flowers bundle which I have shown below. They are a great compliment to the Four Seasons Floral stamp set I have used in this project. The Four Seasons Floral stamp set is great for beginners and is just $24.

I couloured the images using Watercolour Pencils and a Blender Pen (you can also use a Water Painter). You need to stamp the images onto the card using a black Stazon ink pad, so that the outline doesn't run when you add the moisture from the Blender Pen. Stazon is a solvent based ink pad which is why it doesn't run. I have combined a few different colours of pencil in colouring these images, which gives a more realistic effect.

We sell two different sets of watercolour pencils and you can find them both HERE in the online store

I used the jar punch (which is shaped and sized just like a mason jar) for the vase in this card. This can be purchased alone, or as part of the Jar of Flowers Bundle (where you get 10% off by purchasing them together).

There are lots of other floral shapes in the Jar of Flowers stamp set, which coordinate with the jar punch too. The Jar Punch can also be purchased separately.
