Stampin' Up! Project Life Hello December 2016 Christmas Cards

Love love love the colours in this years Stampin' Up! Project Life Hello December Card Kit and matching Accessory Kit (both on special for 30% off this week). As well as being perfect for December Daily albums, they are also great for general Christmas scrapbooking. They also make fabulous elements for Christmas Cards. Here's a bunch of  cards I whipped up last night.

Stampin' Up! Project Life Hello December 2016 Christmas Cards by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

Let's look at each card individually. This first card was super simple! The base is out 12x12" kraft cardstock, and I have stamped a few stars on it with Crumb Cake ink. I then just added strips of Candy Cane Lane washi tape, cut out the circle from one of the 3x4" cards and popped it on the card with Dimensionals. The little tree is from the accessory pack and has been coloured with a Bronze Sharpie.

For this second card (I think this one is my favourite), I just used 5 of the 2" x 2" cards in the accessory pack. The centre card is matted and then raised up with Dimensionals. I have used the largest square in the Stitched Shapes Framelits underneath the centre square. The greeting is from Christmas Magic in the Holiday Catalogue.

For this one, I used Merriest Wishes background stamp in Cherry Cobbler onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the base. I then added one of the 3x4" cards attached with Washi tape. The stars on top of the tree are enamel shape stars coloured with a Bronze Sharpie. and the greeting is from Stitched with Cheer in the Holiday Catalogue. I have attached some Copper metallic thread under the greeting for some added texture.

For this one, I have used a 6x4" card as the second layer and then one of the printed transparencies from the card kit as a second layer. Then I have just popped on a couple of sticker banners from the accessory kit and a punched silver glimmer star. The smaller silver stars are from the accessory pack as well.

I just love the quote on this final card, it's so what Christmas is about to me. The second layer on this one is a 6x4" card, and the 3x4" card with the quote on is just attached with Candy Cane lane Washi tape. The circle greeting is from the accessory pack sticker sheet and it is on a very thin mat of Emerald Envy cardstock. I have also attached some Emerald Envy stars from the 2016-18 In Colour enamel shape pack.

Stampin Up Touches of Texture - one of my new favourite stamp sets!

I love a little grunge when it comes to my stamp sets, so the new Touches of Texture stamp set in the Stampin' Up! 2016/17 Annual Catalogue is one of my new favourite sets. Not only does it have the grunge, but also flowers which are another of my very favourite things!

I love the texture stamps too, especially the gorgeous one I have used around the edge of the crumb cake layer. I have coloured my image using Blender Pens and the ink from inside my ink pad lid - SO EASY! My colours are Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush. I have used a little Mint Macaron for the ink splatter stamping in the background and Early Espresso for my greeting (which is from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set).

There are also some cute little insects in the stamp set to add extra interest to your creations. I love the dragonfly especially.

Endless Birthday Wishes in a Stampin' Up! Birthday Card for SB117

Last week I sadly let Sandi and Heather know that I had decided to step down from the Stamping and Blogging Design Team. It was just one of those things where you need to stop and re-evaluate where you are spending your time as life goes on. Each year brings different things with my family needs, my business is continuing to grow and I like to have some down time too, just for me, to do things that make me happy and nourish me. It's inevitable that sometimes you need to change focus to  fit everything in. I think this quote sums it up best:

Balance

It's been a fabulous 12+ months with the team and I am so grateful for the fabulous opportunity. I know I will be friends with these lovely ladies for many years to come.

There will be lots more free paper-crafting inspiration coming your way from my blog, because if anything, I will probably have more time to create with just a blank piece of grid paper as my starting point. I am really looking forward to that. If you haven't already, make sure you subscribe to my blog posts (posts will be sent to your email) so you don't miss a thing.

So today we have my last Stamping and Blogging card, SB117.

Stampin Up Birthday stamp using Endless Birthday Wishes and Brushstroke Background stamp. Claire Daly Melbourne Australia

I really like how my colours worked out in this one. I've used Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride for my stamping, picking up the colours from the beautiful English Garden Designer Series paper. Bruhstrokes is a great background stamp. In this case I stamped off once, as it would have been a little too heavy for my card otherwise.

Here's this week's sketch.

So now for the last time, let me direct you to the lovely Stamping and Blogging design team girls to see what they have done with this week's sketch. Lee and Erna are on holidays this week.

Stampin' Up! Choose Happiness using the Cracked Glass Technique

Having a break from Christmas cards today to show you another of my favourite stamp sets from the 2014 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, called Choose Happiness. Even the name of this stamp set makes me happy!

Stampin Up Choose Happiness technique Cracked Glass Claire Daly Stampin Up melbourne Australia

For the circle layer, I have used the Cracked Glass technique.

Stampin Up Choose Happiness technique Cracked Glass close up

Here's how you achieve this look:

  1. Stamp your image onto the shape
  2. Cover the whole image with Versamark ink
  3. Emboss with clear embossing powder
  4. Repeat the embossing about 4 times
  5. Place the image in the freezer for 5-10 minutes
  6. When you take it out, GENTLY crack the embossing
  7. If you want to have an antique type look, you can also rub some Soft Suede or Crumb Cake or even early Espresso ink into the cracks.

Here's a look at the Choose Happiness Stamp Set. I love the sentiment in this one too.
