Colour Creations Week 32: Pacific Point & Stampin Up Let's Set Sail Bundle
January 26, 2022
Hi friends. I had a chance to do some creating on the weekend, so I am delighted to be able to participate in our weekly Art with Heart Team Colour Creations blog hop. Our team girls have lots of fun creating and sharing with you and each other, each week.
Today our colour is Pacific Point. This isn't a colour I tend to reach for very often, but I do like it. It's a nice bright blue.
This colour always makes me think of the ocean, so I have chosen the new Let's Set Sail Bundle for my card today. This bundle consists of a stamp set and coordinating punch.
This is a great new bundle. Punch bundles are usually quite a bit cheaper than die and stamp bundles, and I love the ease of just grabbing a punch instead of getting out my die cutting machine. This is a great stamp set for masculine cards, and has some versatile sentiments in a great font. I really like the different ocean stamps for grounding the sailing boat image too.
Here is my colour combination for today's card.
To make this card I started with a C6 top folding card in Basic White. I then cut another layer 10cm x 14.3cm and cut a circle in the centre using the second largest Layering Circle Die. I then embossed that piece with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder (emboss after you cut the circle for the best effect). I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock slightly bigger than the die cut circle and blended some Pacific Point ink in an ombre pattern. This was adhered to the back of the die cut circle opening with some Tear and Tape. I then stamped the birds in Pacific Point ink at the top of the blending. This whole panel was attached to the card front using Dimensionals.
The ship is stamped in Basic Gray and the Sails in Real Read, and both cut out with the punch. I've adhered the sails with Dimensionals them up a little.
To finish my card I stamped the greeting in Basic Grey and cut it out with one of the Rectangle Stitched dies.
I then tied a double strand of White bakers twine to the top of the card.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card. You can find the products I have used today in my online store, by using the links at the end of the post. Now it's time to see what the other ladies in the team have created using Pacific Point. Next up we have the lovely Sharon Davern.
If you get lost anywhere along the hop, or find a link that isn't working, you can find the full list of blog hop participants HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today. See you back here again soon,
Claire

The pop of the red sails look amazing against the blue sky in the circle. It's a really lovely card, Claire.

I love the simplicity of this masculine card, Claire. The blending is perfect with those little birds flying away in the sky, almost as though looking through a porthole, and I love that sail boat with its big red sails.

Oh Claire, such a delightful card. I love the blended sky with the birds - so beautiful. The red sails are sumptuous against the sky and the embossed white background. Gorgeous xxx

Such a lovely crisp card Claire. I have to confess I hadn't noticed that bundle until your card. Might have to go back and investigate.

Firstly, thank you for sharing this bundle with us Claire. I hadn’t taken a lot of notice of it before. It’s perfect for a masculine card and the images could be used with many of our other ‘ocean’ related stamp sets. Secondly, I love your card - especially all the white space. Attention is drawn to the lovely yacht and calming sky. I can almost smell the sea breeze.
