Stampin' Up! Masculine Card with Mountain Air with Cajun Craze
July 21, 2021
Hello friends. This week the Colour Creations ladies in the Art with Heart Team are playing with Cajun Craze. This is one of my least used Stampin' Up! colours, so it definitely was a challenge. Once I got the idea though, away I went.
I wanted to create a card for a very sick relative overseas. We enjoyed time together on their trip to Australia several years ago, so I wanted to come up with a card that let him know I was thinking of him at this very hard time, and that perhaps reminded him a little of Australia. Cajun Craze definitely is the colour of some of the Australian outback, and the Kimberley region especially.
I have used the Mountain Air stamp set from the 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, to create several layers of mountains by stamping in Early Espresso onto Cajun Craze and die cutting with the coordinating Majestic Mountain dies. I love the dimension you can achieve with these two products. The trees are from the same stamp set and dies, and my greeting from the Quiet Meadow stamp set.
I adhered these pieces onto a layer of shimmery white which I had applied ink using my blending brushes. The lowest area near the mountain range is Calypso Coral, then I blended in some Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and lastly some Misty Moonlight at the very top and edges. The birds from the stamp set were stamped in Misty Moonlight too.
I then mounted this piece onto some Cajun Craze cardstock, and an Early Espresso base card. I'm really pleased how this card turned out. There was a lot of love put into it, and I think it looks quite peaceful. You can view all of the products I have used in this card using the links at the end of the post.
Here's a summary of the Stampin' Up! colour combination I have used today.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the other Art with Heart Team girls have made using Cajun Craze. next up we have the lovely Caroline Manwaring who is very creative! Let's see what she has made for us.
If you have problems anywhere along the way or discover a broken link, you can head over to Catherine's blog for the full list of participants.
Don't forget to ask for your free paper copy of the NEW July to December Mini Catalogue and Saleabration Catalogue, either from myself or any of the girls along the blog hop.
Thanks for visiting today. See you again soon,
Claire

Such a dramatic, striking, colour combination, Claire. I hadn't thought of Cajun Craze being like the ochre colour of the outback, but it so is!

What a stunning scene you have created Claire and the colours are so much like the Australian desert outback. Your friend will I’m sure appreciate the thought and reminder of their visit to Oz.
