Colour Creations Showcase Week 48: So Saffron
May 12, 2021
Hello friends. I'm finding myself with a little more creative time at the moment, so I am excited to be able to participate in some of the creative challenges with my Art with Heart team girls. This week's colour challenge is So Saffron, a very muted yellow and to be honest not one I have created with much in the last year.
Here is my card. I chose to use the beautiful new Hand-Penned Petals bundle. By stamping off (stamping once on scrap paper and then onto your card without reinking) the Polished Pink and Soft Succulent once each, I came up with a soft colour combination using So Saffron.
Here's the colour combination if you want to Pin It for future reference.
One of the things I LOVE about this new bundle is it's designed for the stamping to be imperfect! I love the fresh vintage look you get when you stamp the solid colours for the leaves and flowers, and they don't quite fit perfectly. This really suits my style of stamping. I stamped the flowers and the sentiment in Basic Gray to tie in with the softer colour combination.
I have used the scalloped edge die from the coordinating Penned Flower Dies to create the left side edging. The flowers are two of the largest flower bunch, placed together. Here's a look at the Hand-Penned suite. You can buy the suite together (which includes 10% discount on the bundle), the bundle with a 10% discount, or individual components of the suite. All the product links for today's project are at the end of the post.
I have used a couple of other new products on my card too. My sentiment is from a great new stamp set with 11 sentiments, called Inspired Thoughts. I really love the font in this set. I have also used a great new die set called Encirled in Beauty, and there is just a peek of one of the decorative circle shapes poppng out unter the sentiment. This is going to be one of my favourite die sets for sure.
Here's a look at these two products (links at the end of the post will take you to these products in my online store). First the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.
These are the new Encircled in Beauty Dies. The largest die in the set is 9.8 x 9.8cm, so they are perfectly sized for card fronts.
If you would like to see more So Saffron colour combinations, head over to Cathy's blog to see what the rest of the Art with Heart Team girls have been up to.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Clare I just love the soft subtle colour combination you've achieved by stamping off these brighter In Colours - they look so stunning with So Saffron! I'm totally with you on the font and sentiment of the Inspired Thoughts stamp set and I love the sentiment you've chosen for your card today.

You've used these gorgeous new products so nicely, Claire. The So Saffron card base is the perfect backdrop to those lovely muted colours.

Love the flowers from that set and how you have stamped lighter to go with So Saffron. Such a pretty card and I’m looking forward too to getting the Encircled in beauty dies.

I really love your colour choices for the flowers and how you have offset the focal point to the side of the card front. Gorgeous card, I love it.

A very pretty card, Claire. Sigh, I thought I was going to be able to resist this suite...

So pretty! I love that you stamped off the colour for your flowers and the softer gray outline. Glad I did add this suite to my order ;)

One of my absolute favourite suites in the new catty, Claire. You certainly have shown its beauty on your gorgeous card. I can’t wait to add this to my collection.
