Stampin Up Thinking of You Card: Quiet Meadow Bundle & Collage Stamping Technique

Hello friends. Today I have a 'thinking of you' card using the new Quiet Meadow bundle in the Stampin Up Australia 2021 Annual Catalogue. We will also be using a stamping technique called collage stamping.

Stampin Up Quiet Meadow used with Collage Stamping Technique. 2021 card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia
"Collage" was originally a French word, derived from the word coller, meaning "to paste." The stamping interpretation of that is to combine a variety of themed stampings, balanced in both colour and composition. That's easy to do when you have multiple coordinating stamps in a set, like we do with the Stampin' Up! sets.

Here's a look at the complete card. The light has caught the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper so it looks like two different colours, but it isn't. This paper is really pretty.

I started with a base of Crumb Cake cardstock. I have stamped one layer of the collage stamping in Crumb Cake ink. This is just basically layering the stamps to give the coverage and composition you want. I also used  Early Espresso to add another layer on the collage, and carried that colour through to the stamping on the sentiment.

First 2021 Stampin Up Christmas Card for the Year: Evergreen Elegance and a new Christmas DSP

Let's get our 2021 Christmas cards under way shall we? Never too early to start in my opinion.

Today I am using the Evergreen Elegance stamp set (new in the 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue) and a new Christmas DSP from the Annual Catalogue, called Tidings of Christmas.

Stampin Up Evergreen Elegance 2021 Christmas card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

The design of this card is actually really simple, so it would be a great one to make multiples of. The Evergreen Elegance stamp set is lovely. I'm a real sucker for Christmas sets with realistic looking Christmas trees. Here's a closer look at the set.

The Tidings of Christmas DSP is much richer in colour than it appears in the catalogue. It is a fabulous combination of Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Sahara Sand, with  Misty Moornlight and Cherry Cobbler. It's a great Christmas paper.

Stampin Up 2021 Tidings of Christmas DSP. Available in my online store.

Although the stamp set has great greetings, for this card I wanted a smaller more compact greeting, so I have used the Inspired Thoughts stamp set, and a die cut from Encircled in Beauty (you can see the links to both at the end of the post) . I have finished my card off with some linen thread and Champagne Rhinestones.

I hope you liked today's card. Stay tuned for more Christmas cards in the weeks to come.

Art With Heart Team 2021 Colour Creations Blog Hop: Basic Gray & In Symmetry Stamp Set

Colour Creations 2021 to 2022 logoHello friends. It's time to play with colour again. This week I am participating in the Art with Heart Team (my amazing Stampin' Up! team of awesomely creative ladies) Colour Creations blog hop. Each week we have a new colour, and this week it is a neutral, Basic Gray.  I have chosen to work with the In Symmetry stamp set and coordinating Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper. Both of these were new in the 2021 - 2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Here's the first of the two cards I made. The strip of paper I used on the cutaway edge on the inside was my favourite piece from the Sweet Swmmetry DSP, so I used that as my colour inspiration for stamping and the frame. My flower is stamped in Flirty Flamingo and I have used Just Jade for the stem and leaves. The scalloped frame is from the Scalloped Contours Dies (the coordinating dies to the Colour and Contour stamp set). This is die cut in Bumblebee. This stamp set lends itself to very graphis design, so this dotty embossing folder was perfect to give some texture to the Basic Gray front of the card. It's one of the two folders in the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder.

To add some dimension and extra interest to my flower, I stamped an additional layer and fussy cut so I could pop that up with Dimensionals. To finish my card I just needed some Rhinestone Jewels and a Basic Gray sentiment. I really love this 'hey friend' sentiment which is part of the In Symmetry stamp set.

My second card uses the same sheet of DSP, but I have stamped the larger flower (Flirty Flamingo) and leaves (Just Jade), and made the frame Basic Gray.

This time I stamped my greeting in Night of Navy, to pick up that colour in the Sweet Symmetry DSP. Here's a closer look at the colours used today. Stampin Up 2021 colour / color combination. Basic Gray, Flirty Flamingo, Just Jade, Bumble Bee and Night of Navy

Stampin' Up! Hand Penned Suite and Encircled in Beauty Dies

Hello friends.

Today I wanted to share a card that was quick and easy to create, but which I love because it uses 3 of my favourite things from the new Annual Catalogue.

Stampin Up 2021 thank you card using Hand-Penned Petals bundle and Encircled in Beauty Dies. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia.

The 3 favourite items I have used on this card (you can check them out in the links at the end of the post) are:

  • The Hand-Penned Petals Suite (but you already knew that from previous posts, right?)
  • The gorgeous Encircled in Beauty Dies. I love how circle dies break up the straight lines in cards.
  • The Hand-Penned Memories and More Cards and Envelopes. I LOVE these! They are pre-printed and ready to go, plus incredible value. Just $17.50 for 20 cards and coordinating patterned envelopes. They make a perfect card base for stamped cards, or cards made using the elements in the Hand-Penned Memories and More card pack.

Stampin Up 2021 thank you card using Hand-Penned Petals bundle and Encircled in Beauty Dies. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia

The secons layer of the card is a strip of the Hand-Penned DSP (5cm wide x 13.5cm) with a banner end cut in one end. The largest Encircled in Beauty die is a great size to use with this image. I stamped the image in Basic Gray, and over-stamped the flower using Pale Papaya. For the leaves, I used my Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends to colour them. This picks up the colours in the Hand-Penned DSP I have used as the first layer. To finish my card off, I have used some of the Genial Gems from the Hand-Penned Suite.
