Watercoloured Poinsettia 2020 Slimline Christmas Card using Stampin Up Poinsettia Petals

Hello crafty friends. Today I have another slimline card for you, a 2020 Christmas card using Stampin' Up! Poinsettia Petals bundle from the 2020 Stampin' Up! August to December Mini Catalogue. The whole Poinsettia Place Suite is so pretty!

For my card, I started with a 21cm x 10cm slimline Crumb Cake card base and I added a layer of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper. This has a luscious flocked design on vellum and is so pretty, plus adds great texture. I've added more texture by looping some Braided Linen Trim below where I planned for my flower and greeting to go.

To create my flower, I gold embossed the three different sized poinsettia's from the Poinsettia Petal stamp set onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (links below). I then spritzed with water and used then added watery ink from the lid of my ink pad (created this by dropping a couple of drops of water into the ink residue in the lid - just make sure you wipe with a paper towel when finished so you don't dilute your ink pad). Becuae the watercolor paper is wet, the colour quickly spreads and you get a random distribution of the colour. I love this messy watercolour look. I used tw colours on the flower, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.

I layered these together with a Dimensional between each layer and the gorgeous Beaded Pearls (links below) as the flower centre.

Here's a closer look at the gorgeous Beaded Pearl flower centres. You get 18 pieces in a pack and they are approximately 1.3cm wide.

I watercoloured some leaves from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, and die cut some berrie sprigs in metallic brushed gold to add some bling. Love how all the layers look when they are put together.

Slimline cards are fun to make. There's a little more real estate to play with, but don't let that scare you.
