Stampin' Up! Whiskey Business coloured with Stampin' Blends, plus tip to give the look of liquid

Off White Clean and Simple Email Sign Up Instagram Post (940 x 630 px) (1)

Hello stampers. Today I have a masculine card for you, featuring Whiskey Business stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

Here's my Whiskey Business card. Whiskey seems to be pretty popular among our male family and friends, so I needed this stamp set. My base card is Cinnamon Cider, and the front is embossed using the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder. The patterned paper is from the In Good Taste Designer Series paper pack. This pack has
great neutral textures.

Stampin Up Whiskey Business masculine card. 2020 birthday card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia.

I've coloured my image in Stampin' Blends. I have used Smoky Slate and a tiny bit of Seaside Spray on the decanter, Smoky Slate on the glass, and Cinnamon Cider with a bit of Daffodil Delight blended in for the whiskey. I've also used Daffodil Delight on the lemon twist.

Tip: to get a realistic look of liquid with some dimension, use a Fine Tip Glue pen after the Stampin' Blends have dried. I learned this tip from the lovely Linda Bauwin on an Incentive Trip many years ago when she was demonstrating colouring wine in glasses.

To finish my card off, I have adhered the decanter and glass to a circle die cut from the Stitched Shapes dies. The glass is adhered with Dimensionals, as is the Stitched Shape and the DSP (I adhered the DSP to a layer of cardstock to give it some more weight). Finally I have added some Linen Thread, and an embossed greeting from Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. Even though there are some great sentiments in this set, I wanted a birthday sentiment. This new Happiest of Birthdays from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue has been really popular.  It's certainly one I know I will be getting lots of use from.

Stampin' Up! Prized Peony coloured with Stampin' Blends.

Hello stampers. Today I have a Prized Peony coloured with Stampin' Blends for you. I am loving colouring the images in this beautiful stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. Off White Clean and Simple Email Sign Up Instagram Post (940 x 630 px) (1)
I wanted to keep my background quite neutral, so I have just used Crumb Cake cardstock. To create a bit more interest, I have used two different embossing folders. I have used the Subtle 3D folder on the first layer, and on the layer I have cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies, I have used the Dainty Diamonds 3D folder. You can view or purchase these products in my online Stampin' Up! store in Australia, using the links at the end of this post.

Stampin Up Prized Peony stamp set coloured with Stampin' Blends. Dainty Diamonds and Subtle 3D embossing folder. 2020 card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

I have coloured the image with Stampin' Blends. I recently did a video showing how to colour the smaller Prized Peony, and used the same colouring technique here. Here's a look at that video in case it's helpful. The colours I have used are Purple Posy Stampin' Blends combo, Highland Heather Stampin' Blends combo and Old Olive Stampin' Blends combo.

To finish my card off, I have used a greeting from Well Written stamp set, which is stamped in Crumb Cake and cut out using the Stitched Nested Labels dies. I tied some linen thread around the flower stem, and placed some Elegant Faceted Gems around the flower. It's so hard to see in this picture, but I also used some Wink of Stella to add to the lowlights (dark shaded areas) on the flower. I love how that turned out.

Stampin' Up! Basket of Blooms stamp set & Small Bloom punch

Hey there.

Today I have a bright and happy card for you, using the Basket of Blooms stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Basket of Blooms stamp set by Stampin' Up!. 2020 card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

I was immediately drawn to this stand alone stamp set for several reasons:

  1. The great variety of outline images, including flowers, foliage, vase, basket and flower pot, which make it great for colouring.
  2. It coordinates with the Small Bloom punch, which was one of the free choices during Saleabration 2020, and can also be purchased still.
  3. It's a GREAT price - 14 stamps for $30.

Stampin Up Basket of Blooms Stamp set (coordinates with Small Blook Punch). 2020 Annual Catalogue. Purchase in my online store in Australia. It's so easy to create beautiful floral arrangements with this set, whether they be simple or more detailed. By being able to punch out some of the flowers, it's easy to add dimension to your project too. Here's the Small Bloom Punch it coordinates with (shop link at the end of the post).

Stampin Up Small Blooms Bunch, coordinates with Basket of Blooms.. 2020 Annual Catalogue. Purchase in my online store in Australia.

For my card, I used Stampin' Blends to colour the vase (light and dark Seaside Spray and light Misty Moonlight). I stamped the foliage in Granny Apple Green, and the flower in Magenta Madness. My base card is Bumble Bee, and I have used Magenta Madness for the sentiment piece (the sentiment is from the Dressed to Impress stamp set) and for the mat on the stamped piece. The Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder is the perfect way to add some extra interest to the base Bumble Bee card.

I'm looking forward to having more of a play with this gorgeous stamp set. Here's some samples that the Stampin' Up! designers made with this set. Aren't they gorgeous? This set just inspires bright and happy cards and we could all do with some bright and happy right now.

Ink Blending with Stampin Up Sponge Brayers and reverse watercolour technique with Celebrate Sunflowers

Hey there,

Today I am going to show you how to use Stampin' Up! Spronge Brayers for ink blending to create an ombre background (and they are only great value, $14 for 4 heads and 2 handles). I also have another  technique I am not even sure of the proper name for (if there is even one), but which is simple and hardly needs any supplies for, so I wanted to show you. I'm going to call it reverse watercolouring.

Celebrate Sunflowers sponge brayered background with reverse watercolouring technique. 2020 card by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia. Video on blog post.

Here's the video tutorial I made to demonstrate this technique and card.

I'm really loving the colour Bumble Bee. It's such a vibrant yellow, but also warm and welcoming.
