Your Creative Connection #108: Love is in the Air

Hello lovely crafters from around the world. Welcome back to another Your Creative Connection Global Showcase. Today's theme was chosen by Barbara Meyer and is 'Love Is in the Air'. I love being a part of this showcase with these amazingly talented global demonstrators!

I've chosen the Silhouette Scenes stamp set, and one of the new 2020-22 Stampin' Up! In Colours for my card today. 

When I first started playing with Cinnamon Cider, the new 2020 In Colour I have used as my base card today, I really struggled. Now I totally LOVE the colour. It's such a great warm neutral and coordinates well with many colours. Here's today's colour combination.

I have used the Detailed Hearts Die in two ways to create the extra elements on my card. I embossed the Early Espresso cardstock strip using the die, and then I cut the die from Purple Posy cardstock to give me lots the little hearts (plus the base section and lots of leftovers for another project).

I can't wait to see how the Your Creative Connection team have interpreted this weeks theme. Next up is my lovely friend Dawn Olchefske in Minneapolis, USA,

Stampin' Up! Watercoloured Beautiful Moments stamp set with Ornate Garden Suite.

Hello stamping friends,

Today I have a pretty straightforward card for you, but I am really pleased how this one turned out. I have combined a watercoloured image from the Beautiful Moments stamp set, with other elements from the Ornate Garden Suite. All of the products used in today's card are current products available now (and carrying over to the new 2020 Annual Catalogue).

I started by emossing my Blushing Bride base card with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. Such a beautiful folder that adds a real wow to a card. The Crumb Cake later is one of the Ornate Layers dies. The watercolour paper is sized 5.5cm x 9cm to fit perfectly into the frame. I stamped and coloured the image before adhering the Watercolour paper to to the frame. I stamped in Jet Black Stazon and then watercoloured with an Aquapen for the dress (in Rococo Rose) and hair / arms (in Crumb Cake). I then used a Blender Pen to colour the grass in Old Olive, and the flowers in Highland Heather. I used a Stampin' Sponge to lightly sponge Seaside Spray in the top half around the image (for sky) and inked the edges with Crumb Cake ink using a sponge dauber. Then I adhered the Watercolour Paper to the Crumb Cake decorative layer and adhered the whole piece to the card front using Dimensionals.

To finish my card I have used a greeting from Itty Bitty Greetings, all of which fit perfectly in the Classic Label Punch (I shortened the length of the punched shape by turning the punch over once I had punched the shape, pushing the end through and cutting another end closer to the greeting. I adhered that with some mini Dimensionals, and added three small adhesive pearl jewels.

Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team Monthly Stampin' Up! Showcase: Sketch Challenge

It's time to get creative with the Art With Heart team girls on our monthly creative showcase. This month we are working with a sketch challenge designed by our lovely showcase coordinator Rachel Woollard. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Art With Heart team girls interpret this sketch.

I'm using some new catalogue products (coming on 3rd June) for my card today. I have used the Tasteful Touches bundle and In Good Taste Designer Series Paper from the In Good Taste suite. This is such a gorgeous suite of products full of texture, and with a warm colour scheme which can be adjusted for feminine or masculine themed creations. 

To create additional texture on my card (I LOVE texture!) I have embossed the front of my card (after I adhered the patterned paper) with the Old World Paper embossing folder which is an amazing new 3D folder coming on June 3rd as well. I also popped some Braided Linen Trim behind the circle. My flower is watercoloured using Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry.

New Stampin' Up! 2020 In Colours: Introducing Misty Moonlight

Hello friends. Today I am introducing the last of the 5 new 2020 Stampin' Up! InColours. Each year Stampin' Up! introduces 5 colours that are around for 2 years. Today I am introducing the last (alphabetically) of the new 2020 colours, Misty Moonlight.

Misty Moonight is a mid strength blue with grey undertones. At first I thought it was a little like Dapper Denim that we had a few years ago, but side by side it is less intense and more of a grey-blue. Here is a colour comparison

Here is how it looks next to the retired colour of Dapper Denim.

My card today is a super simple card showing Misty Moonlight with two of the other new 2020 Stampin' Up! InColours, Bumble Bee and Magenta Madness. I have used the 6x6" In Colour paper stack for the 1st DSP layer and the Magenta Madness strip.

For my greeting I die cut one of the stitched ovals from Stitched Shapes dies. As we don't have the ink pads yet, I have stamped the 'birthday' from Well Said stamp set in Night of Navy, and added a 'happy' which I diecut in Bumblebee from the Word Wishes dies. I think these three colours work well together.

New Stampin' Up! 2020 In Colours: Introducing Magenta Madness

Hello friends. Are you ready for another new 2020 Stampin' Up! In Colour? You had better put your sunnies on for this one.

Magenta Madness is a bright clear blue based pink, ready to brighten up all your papercraft projects. Side by side, I find it lighter and brighter than Melon Mambo. It's a fun colour!

For my Magenta Madness card, I chose one of the Flowers for All Seasons Memories and More Cards and Envelopes card bases, and added one of the floral 3x4" cards. I love how the dotted frame on the card base is a feature already printed on the cards.

I thought Magenta Madness looked good with Bumblebee, so I added a thin mat of Bumble Bee around the 3x4" card and also as a label beneath my greeting (this label is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies and I use these a lot!). The twine from the Flowers for All Seasons ribbon combo pack picks up the Misty Moonlight in the 3x4" card. I have also cut and layered a couple of flowers using the Small Bloom punch (a carryover from Saleabration which is in the new catalogue).

Here's some Magenta Madness colour combinations as suggested by Stampin' Up! This colour is so bright and fun.
