Heart of Christmas Week 4 - Sharing the Joy of Christmas Creativity.

Welcome back to the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for week 4. Our aim is to spread the joy of Christmas creating as far and wide as we can.

Heart of christmas 2019 full size

This week I am all about silver and shimmer!

Step by step instructions on blog, Detailed Deer dies, woodland embossing folder 2019 Christmas card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

This was actually a super fast card to make! Here's what I did:

  1. Prepared a top folding standard C6 size (1/2 A4 cut vertically and folded) using Seaside Spray cardstock.
  2. Cut a second layer of Seaside spray cardstock 9.8cm x 14cm (o4 3 & 13/16 x 6.5 inches)
  3. Emboss this layer using the Woodland embossing folder.
  4. Using a sponge dauber and your Silvery Shimmer Delicata ink pad, sponge silver metallic ink over the embossed parts of the tree and branches. Put aside to dry for 10-15 minutes. (Tip: The manufacturer recommends not speeding up the drying time with heat, as it diminishes the lustre of the stamped image). Once dry, adhere to the card base using Multipurpose Glue or Snail.
  5. Die cut a nested label using whisper white cardstock. I have used the second largest one.
  6. Stamp a greeting bottom left side of the label, using the Silvery Shimmer Delicata ink. Set aside to dry for 10 minutes.
  7. Die cut the deer shape from Detailed Deer (in the Annual Catalogue). Adhere with Dimensionals onto the nested label (you can also add a glue dot to the antlers). Add three small rhinestones around the deer.
  8. Adhere this whole nested piece to the centre of the card using Dimensionals.

I'm obsessed with the Delicata inks right now.  Hands down the BEST metallic inks I have ever used. Air dries in 10-15 minutes, no smudging and has great lustre. It would be pretty quick and easy to whip up a batch of these Christmas cards too.

7 Ways to use the Stampin' Up! Rectangle Stitched Framelits with metric cards in Australia and UK.

Hello happy stampers.

Today I wanted to tell you all about the Rectangle Stitched Framelits which were introduced in the 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue. They are a fabulous versatile bunch of rectangle Framelits that can be used in so many ways, including with our metric card measurements.

Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies - Item 148551 (find them HERE in the online store)

There are 13 dies in the set, and one of the things I love MOST about them, is the the stitching is on both the piece that is cut out, and the piece that is left behind. The largest rectangle is 13.3cm x 19.8cm. There are so many versatile shapes for layers, feature stamped panels and even for sentiments.

Rectangle Framelits

Here's a range of different ways these Framelits work with various card sizes available in Australia.

For this first card I have used them with our Narrow Notecards and Envelopes. A great fit for these.

They are also a great fit for our note-cards and envelope sets that come in either Whisper White or Very Vanilla.

Next up I have used them to create a frame around a cut out rectangle, on the Delightfully Detailed note cards and envelopes. These cards are sized the same as our note-cards and envelopes.

The rectangles can also be used as stamped panels or layers on cards, as I have used on this card. I really like how the stitching works gives that extra bit of interest around the edges. These cards are the Memories and More card bases, which coordinate with the Happiness Blooms Memories and More cards.

The Rectangle Stitched Framelits also work really well with the silver and gold edged note-cards and envelopes which are carried over from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue. I like how the stitching looks on our foil cardstock on the inner layers as well.

These last two projects are made using our standard C6 size cards (half A4 and then folded). Even though the rectangles are not perfectly sized for our card fronts (as opposed to US sized cards), in my opinion they still work really great.

On this card I have used a frame and added some elements slightly overlapping, so you can't even tell there is any difference in measurements in my opinion. I also like the idea of having a small gap at the base of the card for additional sentiments if I wanted to add them as well (in that case I would have moved the frame up a little on the card).

For this last card, I have used the rectangles as a focus for my stamped image. This card made me smile while I was making it because that's exactly what my cat Teddy does with my bakers twine if I accidentally leave it lying around. Right now he is innocently sleeping at my feet though.

So I hope that has shown you lots of different ways to get great value from the Rectangle Stitched Framelit dies. They are definitely a must have in your Framelit stash in my opinion. (find them HERE in the online store).

AWHT Stampin' Up! Team Colour Creations Week 40 - Powder Pink

Colour Creations 300

Hello stamping friends. It's time for another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations blog hop. This week we are playing with Powder Pink. This is a lovely soft pink that was introduced as one of the 2017-2019 Stampin' Up!  InColours. Sadly, this colour will be retiring at the end of May (so make sure you order any re-inkers or additional cardstock, ribbon etc you may want). We will have 5 lovely new InColours though, which I can tell you all about in mid-April.

Powder Pink

I have used Fabulous Flamingo, one of my favourite sets from the 2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for today's card. I have used Powder Pink for the main layer of the flamingo, and Flirty Flamingo for the second layer.  The stamp set is photopolymer, so it's easy to line the layers up.

Flamingo 1

I have used Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to give some background texture on the layer of Powder Pink cardstock. The patterned paper is Tropical Escape from the 2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I have picked Granny Apple Green out of the paper to mat my stamped image.

Here's a summary of my colour combination for this week:

Claire's Stampin' Up! Colour Combination (2)

After playing with Powder Pink this week, it has reminded me how much I am going to miss my 2017-2019 Stampin' Up! InColours. These were some of my favourite ever InColours. I literally loved them all from day 1. Check out the page for these colours HERE so you don't miss out on any re-inkers or other colour products you need.

Retiring IncoloursNow it's time to head over to Catherine Proctor's blog and check out the other Powder Pink creations this week.

Have a great week, and I will see you back here in a couple of weeks,

AWHT Stampin' Up! Team Colour Creations Week 39 - Poppy Parade

Off White Clean and Simple Email Sign Up Instagram Post (940 x 630 px) (1)

Colour Creations 300

Welcome back to another Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. Today we are playing with Poppy Parade, one of the past In-colours that was reintroduced as a core colour last June, due to its popularity. Poppy parade is a lovely bright red, lending itself to happy bright colour combinations.

Poppy Parade

I struggled a bit with my card for this challenge, as Poppy Parade isn't a colour I normally make the star of a card. In the end, I found a combination I liked, by combining just one other colour (Granny Apple Green) with Basic Black and Whisper White.

This black and white gingham piece from the Botanical Butterfly DSP is really getting a workout. I love the whole DSP pack actually. Will be sad when Saleabration is over at the end of March and it's no longer available to earn. I have also used the Painted Seasons Saleabration Bundle (Level 2) here, and a couple of my favourite Framelit sets: Stitched Labels and Stitched Shapes.

Here's the Poppy Parade colour combination I used in case you want to save it.

Once I had finished the main card, I loved the colour combination so much that I made some extra more simple cards. I love having 'Hello' cards on hand as I find these are great to send with customer and team gifts.
