Week 22 AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop - Grapefruit Grove

Hello friends. Today the Colour Creation bloggers from the Art With Heart team are playing with Grapefruit Grove, which is one of the 2018-20 InColours. I have to confess this was a BIG challenge for me, as it's not a colour I reach for very often (ok, ever at all!). I was determined to have a go though, as tat's the challenge part right? Not 100% happy with my cards this week, but a sense of accomplishment for at least getting Grapefruit Grove onto 2 cards.
My first card uses the Elephant Builder Punch and the Balloon Builder punch with a greeting from Happy Birthday Beautiful. Oops in that I should have looked at the picture in how to put the elephant together. I will definitely fix that and add the eye before I give this card away.
I quite like these colours of Grapefruit Grove, Mint Macaron, Berry Burst and Smoky Slate together. The base card is one of the Delightfully Detailed notecards and envelopes, so already had the Mint Macaron water wash printed on the card.
My second card uses a similar colour palette, and one of the silver foil edged note-cards and envelopes. These are very hard to photograph, so apologies for the dodgy photos here. I have used the Happy Birthday Beautiful stamp set for his card.
