Time to say goodbye to some retiring Stampin' Up! favourites.

Hello lovely friends.

Had a fabulous time away in Sydney over the weekend at OnStage training with over 40 of my team and nearly 600 fellow demonstrators. We were very lucky to have Sara Douglass attend our event too. We had the new 2018 Annual Catalogue unveiled to demonstrators and saw lots of new products.

With the new, comes the goodbyes though, and that's what today's post is all about (I will post some pictures of the event tomorrow).

These two catalogues will be retiring on May 31st. While some products are carrying over, LOTS are retiring and will be gone for good after May 31st.

Everything Else

Important Information about the Retiring Lists

  • You will see LOTS of colours on there. Some are part of the major colour revamp (we have lots of retiring colours, read more about this under the colour revamp picture below. If the colour isn't retiring, you will still see ink pads on there. This is because we are changing to a new and improved ink pad design, and these colours will be available in that new design after June 1st.
  • Colours Sell FAST! For all of the colours retiring completely (see below), these will sell fast. Stampin' Up! are only guaranteeing stock of the current design stamp pads and the individual re-inkers through 7th May. All other retiring colour products are only available now until sold out and I expect to go quickly (some are already low inventory and its not even 24 hours yet) so get in quickly to secure coordinating cardstock and reinkers and markers etc for your favourite products.
  • Everything else is only While Supplies Last, and then will be discontinued at May 31st. While Stampin' Up! have said that there MAY be some discounts added from May 8th (depending on inventory), the most popular items are going to sell out well before then. Many products are now showing low inventory, and I expect we will start seeing products sell out in the next day. Discounts will not be pre-announced, so demonstrators will not know until May 8th if anything is going to be discounted either.
  • There are no minimum purchases - get as little or as much as you need. Even if it's just a reinker for a favourite stamp pad colour.
  • Don't forget to use the April Hostess Code if you are shopping online, as you will receive a free gift in mid May if you do.

Retiring Colours

Color-revamp_demo_header_uksp

Stampin' Up! have introduced a big colour revamp, the first since 2010 we did have a smaller Colour Refresh in 2013, but nothing big since 2010). I'll introduce you to the new colours in future posts (as these wont be available until June 1st) - they are so fresh and on trend!

To make way for these, 17 colours are retiring May 31st, This includes 4 InColurs from 2016/18 (Flirty Flamingo is staying but will move through to one of the colour groups) and 13 core colours.

These colour products are already on the retiring list. Ink pads and reinkers are only guaranteed available until May 7th, and everything else is now only available while stocks last, so don't delay in getting what you need. Colours sell fast on the retiring list.

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree with Brusho Micropowders

Today I decided to show you another card with Brusho, this time a sympathy or get well card using Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree. I have used the Gamboge pot of Brusho for this card.

Brusho 1

I really love the effect I got with the Brusho as a bright sky or sunset. I am not sure how that small circular gap happened but I quite like that it did, as it kind of looks like a sun or moon. I did the Brusho piece first (again just sprinkling Brusho onto the watercolor paper which I had sprayed a few times with a water mister). When that was dry, I over stamped the Brusho with the the image from Lovely as Tree stamp set using Early Espresso ink. My greeting is from Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I have used  the 1 3/4" circle punch for the greeting and then cut a 2" circle from Copper Foil Cardstock to mat it (I used the Circle Layering Framelits for this step). I carried the Copper Foil Cardstock mat to the stamped image too, and the base card is just Early Espresso.

Brisho 1a

Here's a bit more about how to use Brusho. You can purchase it in my online store using the links at the end of the post.

Have fun playing with Brusho.

Stampin' Up! Seaside Shore with Brusho micropowders.

Hello again.

Today I have a fun card for you where I have used our Prussian Blue Brusho (just sprinkled onto watercolour paper that I had misted well with water), as a background for this fun ocean themed card.

Brusho 2

I really love the random patterns that the Brusho creates when it hits the damp paper.  The Prussian Blue is a perfect colour for the look of the ocean too. I have teamed it with Lemon Lime Twist, Tangerine Tango and Basic Black to create this card. I have also used some of our Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes (link at end of post) to create dimension for bubbles.

Brusho 2z

I hope you like today's card. Seaside Shore is such a fun stamp set to create with.

Have a happy and creative day,

Claire

Stampin' Up! Graceful Garden with some vintage inspired texture.

Hello lovely friends.

This week I was lucky enough to attend the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, which is a really fabulous floral, backyard and landscape gardening show in Melbourne. Seeing all the beautiful floral displays motivated me to come home and finish this card I had started at a friends last Monday.

Rose 2

This stamp set is called Gracious Garden and it's from the 2017 Annual Catalogue. I hadn't played with it before, but now I really love it! I coloured it with the Stampin' Blends (light and dark Pink Pirouette, light and dark Old Olive and light Rich Razzleberry). I then fussy cut the image and adhered both the stamped image and stamped rectangle using Dimensionals.

Rose 1

I have used the debossed side of the Garden Trellis embossing folder (I really like how this pattern coordinates with the background pattern in the Gracious Garden stamp set. My greeting is from Cake Soiree stamp set and I have stamped in Early Espresso and cut the greeting out with a 1" Circle Punch. A bit of lace tied around the stem and a White Lace Doily finishes off my card.

3 ways with Stampin' Up! Petal Palette Stamp Set

Some bundles just jump right out of the page at me when I open a new catalogue, and they are usually the nature style stamp sets for me. Birds, flowers, leaves etc. Stampin' Up!'s new Petal Palette stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue ticked all the boxes for me. It has a coordinating set of Thinlits called Petals and More Thinlit Dies, and a lovely set 0f 2 border embellishment folders called Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Here are 3 ways I have used these lovely products. This is just the tip of the iceberg. You will be seeing LOTS more of this product suite from me.

For my first card I have coloured the roses in Cherry Cobbler light and dark Stampin' Blends, with Old Olive light and dark Stampin' Blends on the leaves. I also used the Lots of Labels Framelits.

I added some gentle shimmer with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

For my second card, I coloured in Calypso Coral light and dark Stampin Blends, with Old Olive light and dark for the leaves. I also used one on the embossing folders on the crumb cake layer.

I did a little bit of background stamping on the label shape that was left over from the last card. and added a greeting from the set. That lovely label die cut is included in the Thinlits.  I also added some Wink of Stella to this card.

For my third card (which I think is my favourite), I have used Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive light and dark Stampin Blends, but haven't used the glitter this time. I used the other embossing folder but didn't take it all the way across the card. I also added in some background stamping at the top of the card (that background stamp included in the set is so versatile).

The greeting or this card came from a different set (it was just the sentiment I needed for this card, for someone who is going through an extremely difficult time). It's from Ribbon of Courage stamp set.
