Stampin' Up! Beachy Little Christmas for Heart of Christmas 22

Graphic

Hello my lovely stamping friends, It's warming up in Melbourne, so this week for The Art With Heart Team Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas number 22, we have a summer themed Christmas card using Beachy Little Christmas. I love the little beach shacks (bathing boxes) in this set as they feature in various places along the Melbourne coastline in all their brightly coloured glory. In some suburbs, these cute little beach shacks sell for astronomical amounts of money because they are so popular and rarely come up for sale.

For my colouring, I have used the brand new soon to be released Stampin' Blends (available November 1st for customers). These are our reformulated and improved alcohol markers and I have really loved playing with them over the last few weeks.  They can be purchased individually, in a set of light and dark, or the whole set together.

Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in Stampin' Up! colours. Available November 1st 2017.

For today's card I used Crumb Cake light and dark, Bermuda Bay light and dark, Daffodil Delight dark, Old Olive light, Pumpkin Pie light and Cherry Cobbler dark. I coloured on thick whisper white.

I've also used the Seaside embossing folder to carry through the beach theme. The patterned paper is from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series paper pack in the 2017 Holiday Catalogue. Here's a closer look at the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set available until 2nd January in the Holiday Catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Season Like Christmas for Heart of Christmas 21

Hello lovely stampers. Last week I stamped with a couple of team members and I was able to borrow the Season Like Christmas stamp set from the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalogue. I made two cards for week 21 of the Art With Heart Team Heart of Christmas Week 21.

I had initially overlooked this stamp set in the catalogue, but then saw a couple of lovely cards made with it. It is a really lovely 3 step stamp set to create a pine tree, with another layer if you want to add some baubles, highlights or maybe even snow. I left the final layer off for my cards.

I chose Night of Navy and Emerald Envy for my colour scheme, and my paper is the Naturally Eclectic DSP which has both of these colours in. For this card I highlighted the stamped image with Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist, with some silver added by way of my embossed greeting, mini sequin trim and rhinestones.

For this one, I exchanged the Lemon Lime Twist for Silver Foil paper. I think I like the silver embossed greeting more on the Night of Navy cardstock. How about you?

Do you see the tree trunk in the image? It's very clever how that works. It actually stamps in between the foliage and is pretty easy to line up with the Photopolymer stamp.

Tonight the Art with Heart team girls are sharing some wonderful ideas to inspire you with our Designer Series Papers. This month is the start of the new Stampin’ Up! year and we have a special promotion on our Designer Series Paper, buy 3 get 1 FREE for the month of October and there is no limit!

Today I am showcasing the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, which is just beautiful. I have made a card and a double page scrapbook layout using the papers. Lets start with the card.

Stampin' Up! Autumn Harvest paper and Painted Harvest stamp set. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia. 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

The sunflower paper is probably my favourite sheet in the 12 double sided paper pack. I love the colours in it, and it coordinates well with the Painted Harvest stamp set. I have used the three leaf stamp (coordinates with the new Leaf Punch too) for some extra foliage. My other flower is just cut from the patterned paper. My greeting is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set and is stamped on Early Espresso onto a Very Vanilla circle cut from the Stitched Shape Framelit.

This picture shows some additional texture I added with the burlap ribbon and gold mini sequin trim.

Next up we have the double 12x12 traditional scrapbook page. This paper is amazing for nature photos and as it has the colours of the sky and plants and flowers in it. Some of the papers in this pack are definitely great for base pages as well, then you have all the other coordinating papers to embellish (I just used a total of three of the patterns in this page).

This was a memory I definitely wanted to record. Our first visit back to Marysville since the town was wiped out and many people died in the 2009 bushfires. It was great to see the town was rebuilding and to see the beautiful statue in the park about new beginnings.

Stampin' Up! Australia: Merry Patterns - still over 3 weeks left to earn this 2017 Christmas stamp set for free!

Hello lovelies. Today I wanted to showcase the lovely Stampin' Up! Merry Patterns stamp set a little more.  This is a fun two step stamp set which is available absolutely free for stampers in Australia and around the world if they host a party or place an order where the total before postage is $450 or more. The promotion goes to October 31st.

Here's a look at the stamp set, and some creations I have made with it the last couple of weeks.

Merry Patterns

For this one I have copper embossed the reindeer, and the backing paper has some stamping on it as well (from different sets - Hearts Come Home and Lovely as a Tree) in Early Espresso.

I embellished with some strips of DSP from Year of Cheer specialty Designer Series Paper, and some wooden stars.

For the second card, I did the two step stamping in Real Red and Old Olive (the photopolymer set makes it super easy to line up). The second step comes in two separate sections, so you can have candles in two colours.

For the final card, I just used the two step greeting and did the second step in Lemon Lime Twist, to add to compliment the bright colours of this card.

Stampin' Up! Australia: Snowflake Sentiments and Winter Wonder Embossing Folder for 2017 Heart of Christmas Wk 19

Hello stamping friends, time for this weeks Heart of Christmas card.

Graphic

This week I decided to play around with textures and techniques. My plans were to use the crayon resist technique on this embossed image from the Winter Wonder embossing folder, a technique I had recently seen and wanted to try. It involved rubbing the side of my white crayon over the embossed image, and then applying ink with a sponge. I think I pressed a little hard and/or my crayon was too long and I got crayon on other parts of my glossy cardstock. I thought I would apply the ink anyway just to see how bad it looked, and I ended up really loving the effect! It's like the embossed area has been shadowed which really makes it stand out. I love playing around with different effects with ink.

My base card is Night of Navy, and I have used a combination of Pool Party ink and Dapper Denim ink for my sponging. To complete my card I have used the Merry Music Designer Paper and silver foil cardstock. I have embellished with some Night of Navy crinkled seam binding ribbon (my favourite ribbon type in the Annual Catalogue), with some mini sequin trim in silver.

My greeting is from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set in the Holiday Catalogue. I really love the size and classic font of these sentiments for Christmas, and I am one of those people that still associate snowflakes with Christmas, even though it's summer in Australia at that time of year. I discovered something very handy as well, in that four of the sentiments in this stamp set fit very nicely in the Everyday Label Punch in the Holiday Catalogue. Here I have embossed the greeting in silver onto Night of Navy cardstock.

Here's a closer look at the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set and the Everyday Label Punch. You can buy these in my online store, along with the other products I have used today.  The greetings which fit in the Everyday Label Punch are the three top ones on the left hand column, and the image under the three snowflakes in the right column. The 'to from' greeting would also be good for this punch.
