Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies - a sneak peek from Occasions 2017
December 09, 2016
Hello lovely stampers. Today I am showing you a couple of sneak peeks from an upcoming bundle in the 2017 Occasions Catalogue from Stampin' Up! (start 4th January, request your copy HERE). The stamp set is called Dragonfly Dreams, and the Thinlits are Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies. I love dragonflies, so this set really caught my eye for pre-order (one of the great Demonstrator perks).
I created an ombre effect with ink on watercolour paper (Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant) and then when that was dry I cut the dragonflies from that using my Bigshot and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. I also stamped the dragonflies on the white panel (Sahara Sand stamped off once). I created the embellishments by colouring our adhesive pearls using a Bronze Sharpie.
For this card, I clear embossed the dragonflies before I did the ombre wash. Embossing onto watercolour paper doesnt give you the most perfect image because of the roughness of the paper, but I was quite happy to have that effect on this card.
I added a little something to this card by cutting one of the detailed dragonfly Thinlit dies in copper foil.
Hope you like today's cards. I have lots to show you over the coming month!
See you again soon,
Claire

These are absolutely beautiful! You've given me some inspiration for some hand-painted papers my sister made for me!
