Good morning lovely stamping friends. It's a lovely Autumn morning in Melbourne today, and the birds are singing outside my window. I spent a little tome in the garden over the weekend, trimming the roses to encourage the last of the autumn flowering. Makes me happy!
Today I have some rose themed cards for you, using Birthday Blooms stamp set from the 2016 Occasions catalogue. This first card I made for my Mum's birthday. She's here visiting for the week too which is lovely.

I embossed the image I gold onto Shimmer cardstock and then coloured using my Aquapainter picking up ink from the inside lid of the ink pads. I wasn't too worried about perfection in colouring and blending, really just wanted to get a little colour onto the blooms. If you want more precise blending, I would recommend using watercolour paper. My colours were blushing Bride and Rose Red for the petals and Mint Macaron for the leaves. My patterned papers are from the Timeless Elegance DSP pack (the striped one) and the It's Your Birthday DSP stack (the Mint Macaron one). Love the cute little bow clips too. They are a real vintage gold colour and suit this style of card.

Even though Birthday Booms has some lovely greetings, I wanted to use this greeting that comes with the Rose Wonder stamp set (also in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue). Here's a closer look at the colours and stamp set.

This second card uses the same stamp set but a more fresh vintage look. I embossed the image in white, and used a watercolour wash on the petals (just Rose Red ink this time) and leaves (Mint Macaron). Both papers I have used here are from the It's My Birthday DSP stack from the Occasions 2016 catalogue.
