A Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday card for SB115

Today I am featuring another card using the Stampin' Up! Remarkable You stamp set. This one is a birthday card based Stamping And Blogging's Sketch And Stamp SB#115.
.

Stampin Up Birthday Card using Remarkable You stamp set fr SB115. By Claire Daly Melbourne Australia.

I water-coloured the Calla Lily image twice (there are two flower in each image) and then cut out three of the flowers to tie together. I used Rose Red ink and my Aquapainter to colour the flowers with. The Smoky Slate background is embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder, and I have used the Everyday Chic Washi Tape and Neutrals Paper Stack for my background layers. My sentiment is from Happy Happenings. You can link to all the products at the end of the post.

Stampin' Up! Remarkable You for SB114

I LOVE a good floral image to colour, so I was all over the new Stampin' Up! set Remarkable You when it appeared in the 2015 Annual Catalogue. Today's card features one of the flowers (which we think is a lotus flower or waterlily) water coloured, along with a greeting from the set. It's based on this week's Stamping and Blogging Design Team sketch SB114.

Here's the colour combination I have used today.

  Stampin Up Colour Combinations #color #colour #stampinup

Tips for recreating this card:

  • I water coloured the floral image using an Aqua painter (see all supplies below) and the ink inside the lid of the Rose Red ink pad.
  • Stamp your image in Jet Black Stazon so you can watercolour without the image outline smudging.
  • Use our high quality Watercolor Paper for a great result. It really does make a difference as you can blend over and over without the paper pilling.
  • The Triple Banner Punch makes cutting the banner ends on this card a breeze.
  • Both flowers were cut out using our super sharp Paper Snips. The left hand flower is popped up with Dimensional foam dots (not the stem though).
  • Stamp an extra bit of the leaf pattern onto Cucumber Crush and cut out a few leaves to layer over the greeting banner.

Here's today sketch that the lovely Sandi MacIver has given us to play with this week:

Stampin' Up! Lots of Joy for the Art With Heart Christmas in July Blog Hop

It's Christmas in July! Can you smell the hint of brandy in the steamed plum pudding - yummmm. Ok so I got a little distracted there! Today some of my Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team girls are presenting some fabulous Christmas projects to inspire you.

Start

This year we already have new Christmas sets to play with in the 2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, and some old favourites too. We also have a brand new 2015 Holiday catalogue coming soon. If you would like a copy of any of our catalogues, to attend a Stampin' Up! class or join a large fabulous group of crafty women by becoming part of the team (hobby demonstrators welcome), be sure to contact me.

If you are not just starting the blog hop, you would have come to me from my lovely team member and friend Kayleen McClean.

My first project is a gift card holder. These are great little holders and the best bit is you can make 3 from an A4 sheet of cardstock.

The belly band slides off and it opens up for a gift card holder.

Lots of Joy AWHT July hop 4

Here are the step by step instructions to make the gift card holder:

  1. Cut a piece of A4 cardstock in 3 vertically so you end up with 3 pieces 7cm wide x 29.7cm long.
  2. Using the largest Framelit from the Lots of Labels Framelit set, cut the rounded edge as shown in the photo below.
  3. Starting from the straight end, score at 8cm and 12cm.
  4. Using a 2" Circle punch,  cut a semi circle in the straight end.
  5. Emboss the 8cm long piece with the semi circle (I used the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder)
  6. Cut a piece of Stampin' Up! Tear and Tape in half vertically (so you have two thinner strips). Use these to adhere the embossed pieces down to create the pouch. If you keep the tape the same width it's a bit of a tight fit for the card, but this fits and holds just fine.
  7. Cut a piece of DSP using the second smallest Lots of Labels Framelit and use that to decorate the front of the flap.
  8. Then just create your belly band and decoration. I used a 2 3/8" Scallop Punch, The Christmas Tree Punch, Lots of Joy and Festival of Trees Stamp Sets, Gold Glimmer Paper and Merry Moments DSP.

Here's how I cut the curved end using the largest label Framelit.

Gift holder bigshot

My second share today is a centre step Christmas card, again using the Lots of Labels Framelits and Lots of Joy stamp set.

I got the idea for the Gold Glimmer circle (made by punching the 2" circle punch first, and 2.5" circle punch around the outside) from my lovely demo fried Linda Higgins. The teeny glimmer stars are cut with the Confetti Stars border punch.

End

Now it's time to visit the next blog on our hop, which is the lovey Kathryn Ruddick.

Wedding Card for SB113 using Happy Happenings from Stampin' Up!

Hello.

Something a little different today - a wedding card. This week's Stamping and Blogging Sketch 113 and the new Stampin' Up! sentiment stamp set I received last week called Happy Happenings, were the base for my card.

Lots of bits and pieces on this one and you will be able to view all of these products in the links below. Happy Happenings is going to be a favourite sentiment set for sure. I love the funky font and that it coordinates with one of my favourite punches, the Label Bracket punch (used for the sentiment on this card).

I think a wedding card needs a bit of bling, so I have added some gold printed vellum, gold glimmer paper, gold foil punched hearts and some gold metallic thread. The little wooden heart embellishment I have used is from the Watercolor Wishes card kit.

Here is the sketch Sandi gave us to play with this week:

SB113Now it's time to fly around the world and see what the other members of the Stamping and Blogging Design Team have created with this weeks sketch. Remember you can play along too - more details at the end of the post.
