Embossing Folders Stamping Technique using Brayer and You're Lovely Stamp Set

Here is the third embossing folders technique I promised to show you using Stampin' up! products.

dtampin up australia deco labels you're lovely

This technique is created by brayering ink onto the debossed side of an embossing folder (this one is Beautifully Baroque by Stampin' up! - see link below). I brayered Early Espresso ink onto the debossed side inside the folder (which is basically flat with the pattern indented downwards), then inserted a piece of Primrose Petals cardstock into the folder and embossed like normal. I love the effect you can get with this technique!

The floral label is done using the You're Lovely Saleabration stamp set (free with a $90 order up to March 31st). This is a perfect fit for our Deco Labels Framelits. The words of the greeting are from Perfect Pairs, which is a very versatile greeting set to add to your collection.

Beautifully Baroque and embossing fabric.

Today I have another way to use your embossing folder: embossing on fabric. I love the effect this gives.

To create this look:

  • Adhere your fabric to cardstock first. I find that cotton patchwork fabrics work really well). I adhere those with our Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets which you will find in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue (see below). You could also use Multipurpose Glue (see below) but just make sure it dries before embossing.
  • Then it's just a matter of putting it through the Bigshot in the same way you would cardstock (I haven't found I have had to change the plate sandwich).

To finish the card off, here's what I have done (products are all shown at the end of the post)

  • Used the scalloped flower die on coordinations cardstock and sanded the top of the petals. I also placed an adhesive pearl in the centre as well as some glitter glass (see below) which is great for a vintage look.
  • Added some glace, gold bakers twine (I LOVE this new twine from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalologue) and sequin trim.
  • My greeting is gold embossed and is from the Hello Lovely stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed today's card. Below you will find a link to the Stampin' Up! products I have used.

Vintage Stampin' Up! Birthday Card

Hello lovelies. Today I have been playing with my supplies to make a vintage birthday card. Vintage is my favourite stamping style!

To me, vintage says distressed, antique, texture, lace, filigree, baroque and lots more, so I tried to incorporate some of those elements into my card (all my supplies are shown and linked at the bottom of the post). Here's what I did:

  • I used the Beautifully Baroque Embossing folder with Pool Party Coordinations cardstock, so I could lightly sand the embossing to give a distressed finish.
  • I added flourishes (clear embossed) on the craft cardstock (from Happy Day stamp set). Love the shape of those Deco Label Framelits!
  • For my greeting, I stamped in Pool Party onto Naturals Ivory cardstock which is a great look for vintage cards. I used the Artisan Label punch for those ends, and I sponged the edge of all my layers with Crumb Cake ink.
  • I also used some vintage inspired DSP (from Soho Subway = LOVE)
  • For texture I added lace, sequin trim, linen thread, antique brad, pearls (you can add so many cool things to vintage cards :)
