Stampin' Up! Serene Silhouettes with a watercolour wash background
February 04, 2014
Today's card is for a friend who needs a cuddle by mail this week. Thinking of you handmade cards do that just perfectly I think, don't you?
How I created this card:
- The shadow effect with the tree was a happy accident! I stamped the image first in Stazon (that I clearly needed to re-ink!) and when it didn't turn out as solid as I liked, I embossed another one a little off centre using black embossing powder.
- The watercolour background was done before I stamped and embossed (make sure it's completely dry). I used Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry and the Aquapen with the ink from inside the stamp pad lid for the wash (make it nice and watery for this effect).
- The base card is Crushed Curry and the next layer Primrose Petals embossed with the Elegant Stripes embossing folder (which sadly I only realised hasn't carried over until after I finished my card - sorry!)
- My greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (if you only get one sentiment set - this is the one and all the greetings fit perfectly in the Word Window Punch.
Here's a look at the Stampin' Up! products I have used (click each item number link and it will take you to that item in my online Stampin' Up! store. Saleabration is on, so spend just $90 and you get to choose a free exclusive stamp set, punch, DSP pack, card or embellishment pack or more (you get promoted to choose when you place your order).
Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set - Wood 132073 or Clear 127324
Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set - Item 130042 (I do recommend wood mount for this set as the stamps are quite small and easily lost in clear - don't ask me how I know that. Whistles ..)

Vintage Trinkets - Item 118764
Watercolour Paper - Item 122959
Aquapainter - Item 103954
Hope this has given you some inspiration today! Have a fabulous week and I'll be back in a day or two with some more creations.
