Adding some glitter and bling to Christmas with Lovely as a Tree: Glitter Panel Stamping Technique.
October 17, 2013
I call this stamping technique The Glitter Panel Technique, but I made that up so there may well be some more technical name for it :) Either way, it's one of my favourite techniques. It's perfect for Christmas too as it adds lots of sparkle to your Christmas cards.
First, here's a close up picture showing the glimmer. As you can see the Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds covers the entire panel.
Here's the complete card. I created some additional texture with embossing the base card layer. adding a Champagne Shimmer Paper snowflake and using different textures of ribbon and trims.
Try the Glitter Panel Stamping Technique
If you like this technique, it's super easy to create! Here's what you do step by step:
- Stamp your image onto cardstock (I used Whisper White). I also sponged a little behind the trees to create a sky.
- Cut your stamped image to size.
- Cover the entire image with Versamark ink (I stamp the pad onto the cardstock and make sure there is good coverage).
- Cover the entire image with Stampin' Up! Heat and Stick Powder and shake off the excess back into the container.
- Heat with your Heat Tool.
- While the Heat and Stick Powder is still hot (so straight after you turn the heat gun off), sprinkle Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds all over the image and shake the excess back into the container.'
- Give the image a quick blast with the Heat Tool to set the Dazzling Diamonds (about 5 seconds once heated should do it, too much can make the coverage flaky).
I hope you have lots of fun with this technique!
Have a fabulous week and see you back here soon.
