Extending the Circles Thinlits Cards - A4 measurements for Australia

Off White Clean and Simple Email Sign Up Instagram Post (940 x 630 px) (1)

The Stampin' Up! Thinlits Card dies have literally been flying off the shelf! They make the cutest little flip cards.

Today I wanted to show you how to cut your cardstock to make an extra flap on the right hand side. This project was adapted from a video I saw by the very talented Patty Bennett in the US. I'll give you the link to the video and to Patty's blog at the end of the post.

Thinlits Circle Card extended A4
The measurements here are adapted to an A4 sheet of cardstock, so that you can get two cards from an A4 sheet, s opposed to one card if you follow the directions in Patty's video but use A4 cardstock. The flap ends up slightly smaller, but still plenty big enough to fit nicely under the circle and the folded piece on the left.

Inside it looks like this. The centre panel is designed to fit a 2" x 3" photo (the top and bottom piece are 1/2 Mosaic Punch piece). I cut the white piece for the pho mat 5.3cm x 8.0cm. The flap on the right is for a personal greeting. This is 5.2 x 13.5cm, and the piece of the DSP at the bottom is 5.3cm x 2.0cm The circles are cut with the 2 and 1/2" circle punch which is a perfect fit for the Circles Thinlit card.

Pinterest measurments

To have the card turn out this way, my measurements were: 13.8cm x width of A4 piece of cardstock which is 21.0 cm.

This means you can cut two cards from an A4 piece of cardstock. The width also allows for the card to be placed under the left section of the Circles Thinlit die, and over the top of the section on the right so you get a scoreline instead of a cut. Here's how it went into the BigShot. The front section about to go into the BigShot has the card flush up against the front of the Thinlit. The Magnetic Platform really helps keep things in place.

Here's how it looks when it comes out of the BigShot.

This is what it looks like decorated. I used the Festive Flurry stamp and Framelit bundle (15% off if you buy them together) along with the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper pack.

I hope this helps you make your own Thinlit Circle cards with 2 cut from an A4 sheet. As I mentioned this project was adapted from a video by Patty Bennett . You can also find Patty's video along with a lot more videos and project ideas with the Thinlit Card Dies over on my Thinlits Pinterest Board.

Thanks for popping by today. See you back here again soon,

Stampin' Up! Australia: The Envelope Punch Board

I'm not usually a gadget girl, but I have had lots of fun playing with the Envelope Punch Board! This has just been released for sale today to Stampin' Up! customers in Australia. Here are some projects I made with it, using the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper.

Stampin Up Envelope Punch Board Australia

It can make all sorts of nifty things, but was primarily designed for creating envelopes in 60 different sizes. Coordinating your patterned paper with your cards looks so cute. Here are a couple of mini gift cards I made. I wanted to keep the cards flat and simple, so they would fit in the gift box I was making.

The gift box was made using a video by Kellie Gettlefinger I saw on Pinterest (you can check out my collected samples and videos in my Envelope Punch Board PinBoard on Pinterest) .

My final project was a file folder card with the Envelope Punch Board, using the instructions in the video by Patty Bennet. I found this simple to do and will be making lots of these I think! I also added a matching envelope. I love how you can make the envelopes so easily for so many different sizes of cards. Just love that grungy vintage Soho Subway DSP too!

Scrapbooking and Mini Album Using Thinlits Card Dies

The Stampin' Up! Thinits Card Dies were released in Australia this week. We all know they make snazzy cards, but did you know you can make mini albums and scrapbook page elements with these too? Here's some projects I did for Stampin' Up! and the Scrapbooking Memories blog with a travel theme.

First up a 12x12 page with hidden journalling and photos:

and here it is open, showing the hidden sections (the bit clipped down, and the pull tab on the right hand side):

Next up, a photo mini album. Just love how this turned out!

All the extra little bits and pieces that go with the Thinlits dies are perfect for inside the album too.

I got the dimension in the custom alphabet, by cutting the letters out (using the Typeset Alphabet Die in my Bigshot) in chipboard first, and then in the coordinating cardstock and adhering them together. That way you can have custom chipboard letters in all the Stampin' Up! colours.

Finally, a matching card!

In this card, I have inked up the stamp in Almost Amethyst and then sponged some Perfect Plum ink around the outside (using a sponge dauber) before stamping.

This card is a bit more vintage. I have used Coordinations Cardstock which I have sanded, and have also added some spongeing, lace and antique embellishments. I have also used the circle stamp as an extra layer on this rnament.

This one is clean and simple using Encore gold ink for the greeting, and Elegant Eggplant for the ornament.
