A Wish for Peace .....

Remember me? It's been a couple of weeks since I blogged. Sometimes I just need to step back and enjoy some family time and this was one of those times. A little blogging holiday which sort of just crept up on me!

I made this card last night while I enjoyed the Michael Jackson special and Wimbledon on TV. I'm starting to feel the need to get started started on some Christmas cards and I thought this one was good for a winters night. I have used the reverse masking technique and a combination of Stampin' Up!'s A Wish for Peace, Lovely as a Tree and the sentiment from Snow Swirled. It's difficult to see in the photo, but there is also Dazzling Diamonds on both of the bigger trees and dotted around the edge of the oval shape.

Wish for Peace bling with WM

Here's the recipe:

  • Stampin' Up! Stamps: A Wish for Peace, Lovely as a Tree, Snow Swirled.
  • Ink: Baja Blue, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
  • Cardstock: Baja Blue, Kraft and Whisper White
  • Accesories: Stampin' Write Markers (Always Artichoke, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip), Silver Embossing Powder, Baja Blue striped grosgrain ribbon, Ice rhinestone brads, 2 Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds

Hope to get some more inspiration up here for you soon! Have a great week,

Claire xx

seriously gorgeous Claire!

Stunning, as always, my friend, and very "Claire"! Baja Breeze and Kraft together - LOVE it. The bling is a really nice touch. Christine x

Your card looks really elegant Claire. It is sad about Michael Jackson, another star above. I was surprised to hear Farrah Fawcett only did one season of "Charlie Angels", I thought it was two. She had a big impact on our lives for one season only, another shinning star above. Glad you enjoyed your little blogging break too. Take care, Marls

Great card, very festive, makes me wish the it was that time of year now. Very sad about Michael Jackson, but he did seem quite a tortured soul in his later years so lets hope he is at peace now.

What a fabulous card Claire! Great to know you had a blogging holiday - sometimes I seem to do that unexpectedly as well.. Thank you for your kind comment on my blog - that's high praise coming from an amazing scrapper like yourself! Looking forward to catching up in 7 weeks... yahooo!

Claire this is such a lovely card. Looks extremely complicated to make though. It would have taken me more than one evening (especially if I was watching a show on telly at the same time)! Beautiful.

Very, very goregeous. (as always!) Hmmmmmm.......seriously believing I now need this set.
