Happy New Year. Let's Sale-a-brate with a card a day!
January 01, 2008
Happy New Year lovelies! The fireworks were awesome. We had the best view - 360 degree wall to ceiling windows in air-conditioned comfort on the 32nd floor overlooking the Yarra, Southbank and the Arts Centre Spire. The only downside was I forgot the bit that attaches my camera to the tripod, so my photos are very dodgy. Here's a couple that give you an idea:
Now for exciting Stampin' Up! news - Sale-a-bration starts today! This is the best promotion in the Stampin' Up! year with heaps of free stamp sets to give away. To see the free sets, check out the on-line Saleabration brochure here. You can get yourself at least one free stamp set in 3 ways:
- Place a $100 customer order either directly to me or at a workshop (you get a free set for EACH $100 you spend - no limit!)
- Hold a workshop and reach a sales total of $600 (you can also get free sets for your own orders as a hostess if they reach $100);
- Become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator yourself. In January and February you can choose an extra free stamp set up to the value of $79.95 (this time from the main catalogue) with your starter kit! You can also get 10% off if you use the code in issue 49 of Scrapbook Creations (January edition).
I am so excited about Saleabration and can't wait to do my workshops over January and February - I still have a few spots left, so call today to book your workshop.
I want to inspire you with lots of ideas this month, so I have committed myself to posting a card a day on my blog all through January! Since today is the start of Saleabration though, I have decided to post 5 so I can show you some of the Saleabration sets as well.
This Saleabration set is called Friendship Blooms. It's a lovely combination of daiseys and flourishes. In this card I have watercoloured the flowers using the Rich Regal Watercolour Crayons and then I added some Crystal Effects for dimension, some buttons, brads and ribbon from the Summer Mini.
This Saleabration set is called Lots of Thoughts. It's a set of square greetings which can be used together or you could also use markers to ink each one individually. In this card I have also used Sweet Shapes stamp set and the Love Notes patterned paper from the Summer Mini Catalogue. The Square Punch and Word Window Punch would be ideal to use with this set.
This Saleabration set is called Merci. It's a whimsical set with flowers, hearts, butterflies and a bee! In this sample I have watercoloured it and used Crystal Effects, layering and a Dazzling Diamonds coated brad in the centre of the flower. I have also used that lovely Flirty ribbon again from the Summer Mini!
This one also uses the Merci set. The butterfly is watercoloured and covered with Crystal Effects and the large flower is made using the Small Oval Punch. I have also used my Cuttlebug for embossing on this one.
Finally here's my Card of the Day for today. Each Day in January, I will be posting a card using a set from either the Summer Mini Catalogue, Sale-a-bration Catalogue or 2007/2008 Idea Book and Catalogue. This set is called Carte Postale and is from the Summer Mini Catalogue. It's perfect for layering (I think I have used 11 layers here!). The punches come in VERY handy when making this card! I have also stamped onto the twill tape for the greeting. The colours are Rich Regal, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.
Phew, if you got this far you have done very well! Happy New Year. Let's make it a great one!
