Stampin' Up! is not just about rubber stamps or card making! We have a wide range of gorgeous colour and design coordinated products just perfect for Scrapbooking. I'd been a scrapbooker for 4 years before Stampin' Up! came to Australia. I had seen these products voted best rubber stamps year after year by Creating Keepsakes readers, but it wasn't until I opened my first catalogue that I saw the huge potential for my scrapbooking. Three things really hit me:
- How cool and unique the designs were. These were up to the minute trendy designs that I could see myself using in my layouts.
- Instead of continually replacing store bought embellishments, I could create my own individual effects with stamping (my husband soon grew to like that one too as I started spending lots less on scrapbooking supplies); and
- The ease of creating a fabulous page because of the coordinating designs and colours available.
Consider this page for example:
I started this page with the photo and I really liked how well it worked with the Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series paper from the 2009 Spring Mini Catalogue.
In the catalogue, it lists that the coordinating colours for this cardstock pack are Kraft, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip so I automatically knew which cardstock colours to choose to match the paper. This also extended to the ink colours. I used Baja Breeze ink to colour the chipboard with a sponge dauber, and used the Chocolate Chip ink to stamp the alphabet I used to make the letters on the photo. I achieved the subtle stamping on the Kraft cardstock by using clear embossing, but we have a great colour called Sahara Sand that looks great on Kraft cardstock as well.
To embellish my page I had so many choices as Stampin' Up! have a range of embellishments in many colours to coordinate with the cardstock, ink and Designer Series Paper. Here's just a few of the embellishments I could chosen to use on this page.
In the end I chose the 1" wide Chocolate Chip wide stitched grosgrain which I tied with some twine. I also used some corduroy brads in Baja Breeze. These are new in the Spring Mini catalogue and I just LOVE them. I hope this has given you some idea why I love Stampin' Up! products for scrapbooking! Here's a quick summary, but the best idea is to get yourself a catalogue so you can view them all!
