Ros is a dedicated Stampin’ Up! addict who loves to play with supplies and create. She began scrapbooking 8 years ago after being given supplies as a present. In that time, she has begun (and completed) her family so she has many photos to scrap and willing subjects that provide unlimited quotes and amusing anecdotes. Ros loves being able to record memories for posterity and enjoys the creative outlet scrapbooking provides. Ros has been published in many Australian magazines including Scrapbooking Memories, For Keeps, Scrapbook Creations and Creative Cardmaking and Papercraft.
One of the many things Ros enjoys about Stampin’ Up! is the friendships she has made, the opportunities it has brought her and the “escape” it provides from her day to day life of raising 4 young children.
We asked Ros some questions about her scrapbooking and Stampin' Up!:
Can you show us a favourite layout?
My favourite layout is about my eldest daughter Nikki. Even though it doesn’t feature a photo, it is still a firm favourite. It documents one of her many “quotable” moments of recent times and shows her love of Masterchef, the reality TV show.
How would you describe your scrapbooking space?
My scrapbooking space is my space away from the children (supposedly) although they keep invading it and making their own messes. It is a desk in our study that also houses all my craft supplies, Stampin’ Up! office supplies, albums and magazines along with the computer, printer and camera.
What's your fave Stampin' Up! colour combination for scrapbooking?
I don’t have a favourite colour combination, but I often use colours that co-ordinate with our designer series papers. My fail safe colour is kraft and if a layout isn’t working with the papers and cardstock I have chosen, it always comes together when I add kraft.
Fave thing to eat or drink when scrapbooking?
Chocolate, for sure! I love chocolate and like to drink creamy soda or mountain dew. I often create after the kids are in bed so I occasionally have dessert while pondering over a page.
Who are your main scrapbook subjects?
My four children without a doubt. I occasionally scrap about myself, my husband and others but the kids are the main focus.
How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Simplistic! Sometimes I can spend hours on a small part of a layout because it is the “look” I am after... For example, stitching a design or background.
If I had an uninterrupted weekend of scrapbooking by myself this weekend I would .....
Create! I just got an order of papers and am inspired and have a photo order ready to be delivered and there is nothing more inspiring than a bunch of new product and photos to work with. I’d probably invite others to come over and scrap with me also so we could all bounce creative energy off one another.
