Claire is the team leader of the Art with Heart team of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Australia wide. Claire has been scrapbooking for the last 7 years ever since one of the Mums bought along a baby scrapbook to her Mum's group. "I was hooked immediately. It was like my passion for recording my thoughts and memories and my love of creating and taking photos had been collided into this fantastic new hobby. I couldn't get enough.
Claire took some classes, helped out on some design teams and has been lucky enough to have layouts published in Creating Keepsakes, For Keeps, Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbook Creations and in the Basic Grey newsletter. She likes to scrapbook about her family, her self, her family history and about her own thoughts, goals and personal reflections. She particularly loves Scrapbooking as a way to express herself through journalling and it has helped her in many ways through journeys of IVF and also dealing with the loss of some close family members.
Claire enjoys networking with other demosntrators through the blogging community and online forums. She also has her own online demonstrator forum to support and train the large Art with Heart team of demonstrators throughout Australia.
We asked Claire some questions about her scrapbooking and Stampin' Up!:
Can you show us a favourite layout?
I loved this photo I took of my boys on a family drive in the country last winter. It shows their togetherness and how they are so inquisitive and love to explore. I also love these Parisian Breeze papers from the Spring Mini Catalogue, 2009. The colour, the cardstock weight, the vintage feel. They are gorgeous and I love that I have ink, cardstock and embellishments which will perfectly match!
How would you describe your scrapbooking space?
I have taken over the front loungeroom of our house, so I have a fantastic space I can spread out in. I have my home office and laptop (frequently attached to my hip) at one end, and then the rest of the room holds my storage unit and bookcase with my stamps, inks, papers and embellishments and LOTS of finished albums! I tend to scrap on our big 1.5m square table which allows me lots of room to spread out! That's also where I have my friends and customers over to scrap and play with my goodies. I just LOVE the flexibility and freedom of working from home.
What's your fave Stampin' Up! colour combination for scrapbooking?
I often base my colour combinations around our Designer Series papers, because they always are so yummy and everything just coordinates with that perfectly. Later I am fond of Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Baja Breeze lately, and for a brighter combination Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie.
Fave thing to eat or drink when scrapbooking?
Anything quick and easy - usually Tea or Diet Coke with a yummy plate of savoury nibbles.
Who are your main scrapbook subjects?
My two boys feature quite heavily, but I also LOVE to scrapbook about me so I am leaving a little bit of my thoughts and feelings down on paper. I find that incredibly therapeutic.
How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
A little bit vintage some days, then others clean crisp and simple. I think it varies so much depending on my thoughts about the photos I am scrapbooking.
If I had an uninterrupted weekend of scrapbooking by myself this weekend I would .....
Invite some scrapbooking buddies around and laugh and talk while I worked on some pages of everyday moments of my life over the last few months.
