I saw this paper being used at a workshop - it is such a beautiful set - so I found this photo that matches perfectly. I love this photo of my Mum and I .... living in Australia and Mum living in England I cherish every minute I have with her. This photo was one of a string of photos taken in January 2009 - the last time I saw my Mum o:(
I'm not sure that I like the photo of me, but at the ripe old age of 42 I am learning that any photo is good ... it represents me at this time in my life and being separated from my family means that I really cherish photos like these ... I miss my Mum so very much, we used to giggle and have fun and make each other laugh ... its not quite the same over the phone ... separated by an unmentionable amount of miles.
I've used More Mustard cardstock as the base and the Haiki Designer Series Paper. I've cut out a few of the flowers and used Stampin Dimensionals to lift them from the page .. a little bit of ink added with a dauber highlights them even further.
I've pressed the Fleurette II crochet flower into an Old Olive stamp pad to add some colour and used it along with Fusion flowers to create interest in the top corner of the photo. I stamped the swirly flower first from the For Everything stamp set and then added the flowers. The centres of the flowers are white and more mustard brads.
The heart stamp is from I {Heart} Hearts stamped onto patterned paper and the sentiment is from Life Definitions. I'e used the Old Olive marker pen to create faux stiching around the photo for added interest.
The rouched ribbon is created using a strip of Sticky Tape and then you just manoeuvre the ribbon so that it rouches up (Bonnie Thurber the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Director of Stampin' Up! in the US, showed us how to do this at the Melbourne Regional - she is so cool if you ever get the chance to see her in action, make sure you are there ... she needs to be seen to be believed!) - the sticky strip is brilliant as it is super sticky and the ribbon just magically stays put ... give it a go ... it really works!
Literally just scrunch up the ribbon and stick it into place - easy peasy!
I usually start with the photo and then match the papers so it was good to work the other way round and get excited about the papers first.
