I created today's layout to show that sometimes less really is more! When I saw these photos I wanted to create a page where the photos really were the focus ... one where the eye immediately went to the photos rather than the embellishments.
These photos of my children were taken in Perth during 2005, and have been on our photo wall for nearly five years! The photo wall is where I put all the photos that one day I will scrapbook - it's smothered in photos! I love this photo of Kieran with the red lines of his swimming goggles around his eyes and his sand encrusted hair, and Olivia wrapped in her towel. The sun was just setting - a perfect time for taking photos.
I cut the wavy line freehand, and then used the crop-o-dile to create a line of holes so that the paper underneath showed through. I then got a bit carried away with the crop--dile and created the yellow strip, this time using both the large and small holes and then adding Crystal Effect to the larger holes to add texture.
And of course, no page is complete without a title and some journalling. I used the Jumbo Outline set and wrote with a Chocolate Chip marker ... maybe not every day, but 99.9% of the time, you are there for each other, cheering each other on, we love it! x
Materials List:
Stamps: Circle Circus, Jumbo Outline
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Windsor Knot
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Tools: Crop-o-dile, Crystal Effects
Hope you agree that this time less is definitely more.
Nikki

I really like this. I am going to load a simple one on my website today. How did you do the letters? How did you get the O looking so good?

Great layout! I thought all the little dots were brads til I read on. The photos are great.

LOVE IT! Pure genius, what you've done with all the glossy holes :) I, too, thought you'd been converted to using heaps of brads!! The colours are glorious, and I just love everything about this layout, Nikki.
