Magnolia Birthday Card using Remarkable You stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Today's card is perfect for our 'nearly spring' days here in Melbourne. This Magnolia stamp is one of the four floral images in the Remarkable You stamp set from the 2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

I have water-coloured the image using my aqua-painters and the ink inside the lid of my Rose Red ink pad.

I wanted the flower to stand out, so all I needed was some neutral bits and pieces to complete my card. My greeting is from Happy Happenings sentiment stamp set in the 2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. Love the font on this one. You can view all the products I have used in today's card by clicking the links at the end of today's post.

Have a great day and see you back here again tomorrow. Have lots to share this week,

Claire

A Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday card for SB115

Today I am featuring another card using the Stampin' Up! Remarkable You stamp set. This one is a birthday card based Stamping And Blogging's Sketch And Stamp SB#115.
.

Stampin Up Birthday Card using Remarkable You stamp set fr SB115. By Claire Daly Melbourne Australia.

I water-coloured the Calla Lily image twice (there are two flower in each image) and then cut out three of the flowers to tie together. I used Rose Red ink and my Aquapainter to colour the flowers with. The Smoky Slate background is embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder, and I have used the Everyday Chic Washi Tape and Neutrals Paper Stack for my background layers. My sentiment is from Happy Happenings. You can link to all the products at the end of the post.

Stampin' Up! Remarkable You for SB114

I LOVE a good floral image to colour, so I was all over the new Stampin' Up! set Remarkable You when it appeared in the 2015 Annual Catalogue. Today's card features one of the flowers (which we think is a lotus flower or waterlily) water coloured, along with a greeting from the set. It's based on this week's Stamping and Blogging Design Team sketch SB114.

Here's the colour combination I have used today.

  Stampin Up Colour Combinations #color #colour #stampinup

Stampin' Up! RemarkableYou by Claire Day Melbourne Australia for SB114

Tips for recreating this card:

  • I water coloured the floral image using an Aqua painter (see all supplies below) and the ink inside the lid of the Rose Red ink pad.
  • Stamp your image in Jet Black Stazon so you can watercolour without the image outline smudging.
  • Use our high quality Watercolor Paper for a great result. It really does make a difference as you can blend over and over without the paper pilling.
  • The Triple Banner Punch makes cutting the banner ends on this card a breeze.
  • Both flowers were cut out using our super sharp Paper Snips. The left hand flower is popped up with Dimensional foam dots (not the stem though).
  • Stamp an extra bit of the leaf pattern onto Cucumber Crush and cut out a few leaves to layer over the greeting banner.

Here's today sketch that the lovely Sandi MacIver has given us to play with this week:

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blossoms for SB110

Today's card for Stamping and Blogging Design Team (SB110) features Birthday Blossoms, a fabulous new set in the 2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It has some great sentiments and some lovely images for water-colouring (one of my favourite things to do) so I think it's a really versatile set. If you know me well, you will also know I love to garden so I'm always a sucker for realistic floral sets.

Stampin Up Birthday Bossoms handmade birthday card by Claire Daly, Melbourne Australia for SB110.

My water-colouring style is pretty messy, but I like it that way. I have always leaned towards a more grungy look on my cards (or at least that's my excuse!) so you wont find any perfect blending. I use both Aqua-painters (which I have used on this card) and Blender Pens, depending on the project.

Stampin Up Birthday Bossoms handmade birthday card by Claire Daly, Melbourne Australia for SB110.

Here's what I did to complete this card (you can link to all the Stampin' Up! products I have used in the bottom of the post):

  • I've embossed the spray of flowers in clear onto the background Elegant Eggplant cardstock.
  • There's a thin layer of Sahara Sand cardstock behind the greeting panel.
  • The spray of flowers on the greeting panel is stamped in Sahara Sand (stamped off once).
  • My greeting is stamped in Tip Top Taupe.
  • The flowers are water-coloured (using Aqua-painters) in Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant, with Hello Honey in the centre.
  • The leaves are water-coloured in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.
  • I have tied crochet trim and linen thread around the base of the greeting panel.

Here's a closer look at the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Indescribable Gift for SB104

Hello lovely people. It's Stamping and Blogging Design Team time, and we have some exciting changes for you this week. From this week's sketch, you can play along and submit your own design link, and be considered for the weekly winners badge. Our new weekly sketch challenge is called Sketch and Stamp, but you will still find us in the same place over at Stamping and Blogging, and that's where you can enter the link to YOUR own creation each week too.

I used this week's sketch to make my Mum her mothers day card using Indescribable Gift from the Occasions Catalogue (this set will not be carrying over to the 2015/16 Annual Catalogue, so make sure you grab it before June 2nd). It's great set for colouring. I have used blender pens and my ink pads to colour here.

Stampin Up Indescribable Gift for SB104 using spotlighting technique. By Claire Daly Melbourne Australia.

You may have picked up that I have used a variation of the spotlighting technique, by overlaying the coloured image section, over the corresponding part of the same image underneath. Usually this is done with a circle image but I quite like how it turned out with the banner cut using the Banner Framelits. I also used the image stamped in crumb cake for subtle decoration on the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics for Stamping and Blogging SB91

Hello lovely stampers. Today I have a vintage themed card using a very popular set from the Stampin' Up! Australia Occasions Catalogue called Butterfly Basics. The sketch I used to create the card is from Stamping and Blogging SB91.

SB91

Vintage is my FAVOURITE stamping style, and the Typeset DSP I have used is my favourite DSP in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It's ultra lightweight and feels just like it came from a vintage book. You get 24 sheets in a pack, so it's GREAT value! My flower is stamped from Butterfly Basics, and coloured with a blender pen and ink (Strawberry Slush, Rose Red and Pear Pizazz) and I've stamped on the DSP as well using Crumb Cake ink. Our new Sahara Sand lace trim, linen thread and an Antique Brad complete the card. You can link to any of these products in my online store below.

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week. I used different patterned sheets of the vintage paper to create the design.

Stampin' Up! Indescribable Gift for SB90

Hello. Today I have a little colouring for you using a new set from the Stampin' Up! Australia Occasions catalogue, called Indescribable Gift. It's a lovely set to colour, and although it comes as part of an Easter set, I have turned mine into a birthday card. The sketch is from SB90, from Stamping and Blogging.

SB90 Card

I've kept the card super simple, because I wanted the floral panel (which I coloured with blender pens and ink from the inside of the lid of my Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Pear Pizazz and Early Espresso ink pads) to be the star. All I did on the Early Espresso card was to stamp some of the same image in the Early Espresso ink, and the same on the Crumb Cake small piece.

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week.

Stampin' Up! Vivid Vases - with stems!

Today's card is a birthday card using Vivid Vases single stamp from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue.

Vivid Vases

I watercoloured using our Blender Pens and picking up the ink from the inside cover of the ink pads. My colours are Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry. I always use Stampin' Up! watercolour paper to get a great watercolour effect because the quality is really awesome. I stamped the image in Black Stazon, and used a Black Stampin' Write Marker very lightly to create some stems (to make the appearance that the vases are clear).

The DSP is from Afternoon Picnic DSP pack, and I've used some Strawberry Slush ruffled ribbon to embellish. My greeting is embossed in white and is from Another Great Birthday set from the Occasions Catalogue.

Check out the Vivid Vases single stamp HERE. View all the Occasions Catalogue products HERE.
