Stampin' Up! 12x12 layout using Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper

Today I have a traditional scrapbooking layout for you using Stampin' Up! 2016 Holiday Catalogue products. As soon as the Holiday Catalogue comes out, I always feel like scrapbooking for some reason. Not sure why that could be, maybe getting all nostalgic, or remembering last years Christmas stories that I want to record? Whatever it is I hope the feeling continues and I get more memories down on paper.

Here's today's layout. This story is going to be about how my son loves to make Xmas treats each year, and how he always takes a plate of what he's made over to our elderly neighbour.

I've used the Stampin' Up! Candy Cane Lane Designer Series paper, which is a lovely combination of Real Red, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso with white. I've used Kraft cardstock for the base and added in some Mint Macaron for some highlight colour.

This is a pretty easy layout to duplicate for any occasion. Here are the measurements:

  • Base cardstock is 12x12"
  • Each patterned paper square is 3x3"
  • Each of the smaller cardstock squares behind the photos is 3 x 3" with the photos 2&5/8 x 2&5/8" square.
  • The journalling piece in the right bottom corner is 3" x 6&1/8"

For the embellishments I have used punched circles, cut out shapes from Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper and enamel shapes. The word strips are from a past Stampin' Up! Project Life kit, and the letters were from my rather large lettering stash.

Art With Heart Team Blog Hop: Memory Keeping

Awht blog hop start
Welcome to my Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for November. This month some of the girls are focusing on Memory Keeping (Scrapbooking/Project Life). We all take photos right? Well, capturing every day moments is so special and we need to document these to cherish. We are all passionate about memory keeping and we want to continue to inspire each other, and you, as we move forward in 2016!

First up I have a traditional scrapbook page of a favourite photo from last Christmas. I have used the Words of Truth stamp set on this page, along with the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper

Stampin Up Scrapbook Page 2015 Claire Daly Australia. Using Words of Truth stamp set and Everyday Chic DSP.

I have white embossed the title (be sure to use the embossing buddy when embossing white on black). Then I stamped the other phrases from the set and used them as journalling. For some additional journalling I downloaded a free typewriter font, and used that on a spare journalling card. I've also added an antique brad and a spare wooden heart I had leftover from a card kit.

You will LOVE the Words of Truth stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Just use the title or item number 139397 in the search box in  my online store (red button top right column).

I also have another page to show you form the Project Life New York album I am working on. The Project Life by Stampin' Up! Let's Get Away Card Collection is awesome for travel pages!

I love how easy it is to tell your story as you go with Project Life. Just pop in the journalling cards and write away. I also use punches to cut out bits of other cards to add additional bits and pieces to the cards sometimes (such as the punched out world shape centre top.

Here is a closer look at the Project Life by Stampin' Up! Card Collection, Accessory Pack and coordinating stamp set. All of these can be purchased in my online store (red button top right) under the Project Life section.

Stampin' Up! Scrapbooking with Sweet Sorbet Saleabration DSP

Something a little bit different for you today. A scrapbook page of my big boy over 11 years ago when he was just 8 months old. Love those curls!

Sweet Sorbet Stampin Up! Scrapbooking

I've use the Stampin' Up! Sweet Sorbet DSP, which is the pack of twelve 12x12" sheets you can choose FREE with a $90 order during our Saleabration promotion which goes from today until March 31st. Here's a couple of close up photos. I did some stamping under the die cut letter, and also as a title.

I cut various size flags in different patterns of DSP using Framelit Dies and the Banner Punch (another Saleabration freebie). These were adhered under the photo.

I tied Soft Sky seam binding ribbon around the photo, together with gold bakers twine which is a new product in the Occasions Seasonal Catalogue. I also tied a scrap of crochet trim into the knot for a bit of extra texture.

Scrapbooking and Mini Album with the Thinlits Card Dies

The Stampin' Up! Thinits Card Dies were released in Australia this week. We all know they make snazzy cards, but did you know you can make mini albums and scrapbook page elements with these too? Here's some projects I did for Stampin' Up! and the Scrapbooking Memories blog with a travel theme.

First up a 12x12 page with hidden journalling and photos:

and here it is open, showing the hidden sections (the bit clipped down, and the pull tab on the right hand side):

SM layout 4

Next up, a photo mini album. Just love how this turned out!

SM mini album 1a

All the extra little bits and pieces that go with the Thinlits dies are perfect for inside the album too.

I got the dimension in the custom alphabet, by cutting the letters out (using the Typeset Alphabet Die in my Bigshot) in chipboard first, and then in the coordinating cardstock and adhering them together. That way you can have custom chipboard letters in all the Stampin' Up! colours.

Finally, a matching card!

If you would like to recreate these projects, here are the Stampin' Up! Supplies I have used. You can purchase them by email, or in my online store. If you are making your first purchase in my online store, make sure you tick 'allow demonstrator to contact me' when you set up your profile. That way I can pass on all my cool customer only benefits!

Saying goodbye to the Watercolour Crayons ....

Stampin' Up! made the announcement today that due to some changes with the supplier, they have decided to retire the Watercolour Wonder Crayons and Watercolour Pencils. These items will only be available until current stocks are sold out.

The Watercolour Pencils are just one set of 24, but the Watercolour Wonder Crayons are available in the colour sets, for $29.95 each.

Wc crayons

They are fabulous to colour with, you jut dab your Aquapainter or Blender pen directly onto the crayon tip and colour away. Here's a favourite layout I did lots of years ago, with all the colouring done using the Watercolour Crayons and an Aquapainter. I love the softer effect it gives.

Life LO
If you want to grab some before they sell out, email me, or head over to the online store.

Be back soon with some pretty things to show.
