Candy Cane Lane DSP Gingerbread House Christmas Cards

Love love love these cute gingerbread houses featured in the Candy Cane Lane DSP from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. They make a great feature of a card by themselves when you cut them out with a pair of paper snips.

Candy Cane Lane DSP 2016 Christmas card from the Holiday Cataloue. Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com.

All I've needed to add is a bit of background stamping, a strip of coordinating DSP and a bit of copper with an embossed greeting (love this greeting from Holly Berry Happiness) and a little copper heart cut using the heart border punch.

Simple DIY Christmas card using Stampin' Up! Holly Berry Happiness

Are you looking for a Christmas Card design you can make batches of? I need these in the lead up to Christmas so will be featuring some over the coming months. Today's card uses the stamp set Holly Berry Happiness from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.

Stampin Up quick and easy DIY Christmas card using Holly Berry Happiness from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

I've just watercoloured the Holly image from the stamp set (in Old Olive and Real Red) onto Shimmer Paper (this is a great medium to watercolour on as an alternative to watercolour paper), stamped the greeting and added some gold enamel shapes (on special this week - 25% off) and ribbon. The Real Red 3/4 inch stitched ribbon adds extra colour to the card front. Tying it in a bow would make the card too bulky to easily post. As an alternative I like to just tie some linen thread around the ribbon where the bow would have gone.

Thoughtful Branches Bundle by Stampin' Up! - Just 10 days left to grab it!

I'm so glad I bought the Thoughtful Branches bundle by Stampin' Up!. To be honest I wasn't 100% sure at the beginning as I had other tree and flower stamps, BUT as soon as I started playing with it on my friends weekend away, I had to have it. I'm just finding it's the perfect combination of great sentiments in a great font, and some really versatile images and Thinlits. I make lots of cards using nature images too.

Here's a couple of simple cards I made to let some people know I was thinking of them. They were so quick and simple to make! For this one my greeting is stamped in Early Espresso  and my leaves in Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Sweet Sugarplum.

Quick and simple butterfly themed cards

We have lots of awesome butterfly themed products in the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue, and they make it really quick and easy to make a wow card. Here's two butterfly themed cards I have made.  This one uses the Fluttering Wings embossing folder, with the Watercolor Wings 3 step stamp set stamped in Mint Macaron. I have added some bling with the silver metallic thread and by using the Greetings thinlits (LOVE these) to cut my greeting in silver glimmer paper.

Butterfly 1

This one uses the background stamp from 'You've Got This' along with a butterfly punched from Mint Macaron DSP in the 2015-17 In Colour stack (oops with the upside down writing - don't tell anyone OK?). For the centre of the butterfly, I have used a couple of Pink Pirouette Candy Dots (adhesive brads which come in packs of 100, 10 of each of 10 colours in each Stampin' Up! color group). These are great embellishments to have on hand.

Stampin' Up! Quick and Simple Thank You card - Sneak Peek

Hello friends.

You know sometimes you want to make a bunch of super simple thankyou cards to have on hand? Well that's was my project this past weekend. I wanted a quick and simple hand made card using Stampin' Up! products that I could mass produce. Our notecard and envelope packs are perfect to use for these, and I chose the crumb cake ones to whip up 20 of these:

Stampin' Up! quick and simpe thank you card. Claire Daly Melbourne Australia.

My stamp set is a new hostess set sneak peek from the 2015/16 Stampin' Up! catalogue, called A Whole Lot of Lovely. It's a great set of 4 stamps which coordinates with our 2" and 2.5" circle punches. I love using circles on my cards. It really balances the rectangle of the card.

3 ways this card was super simple and quick:

  • I used the new Triple Banner Punch (= totally LOVE this new tool) so was able to quickly create the banner ends on the 1" and 1.5" inch paper strips.
  • I stamped the greeting just in one colour and added colour later with a simple punched flowers. By stamping and then punching I didn't need to be too precise with my stamping.
  • I used the notecards and envelopes which are a perfect size and one quick stamp on the envelope customised the envelopes to match.

I loved using two of the new 2015/2017 Stampin' Up! In Colors on these cards too. Here is the colour combination for this project.

Colour combo thankyou 2

I have some more notecard size cards coming up later in the week. These are fabulous to have on hand for quick simple cards. You can find them here in my online store.

See you back here again soon,

Claire

Four quick and simple handmade Christmas cards using Stampin' Up! Best of Christmas.

Are you loving the Stampin' Up! 'Best of 25 Years stamp sets which are being released each month to celebrate Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversary? I am! I can't wait to see what's released each month. These sets bring together some of the favourite images from the last 25 years, and each set includes one new image in that category too. So far we have had Best of Flowers, Best of Butterflies, Best of Birthdays, Best of Shelli and Best of Christmas. They are just $25.95 each set (available in clear mount only) and you can check them all out here in my online store.

Best of Christmas Pnterest Ad
Today, I'm playing with Best of Christmas (pictured below) and showing you four quick and easy cards you can make using cardstock and paper you may already have at home. I'll list all the products I have used at the bottom of the post and link to where you can purchase them in my online store if you are interested.

Stampin' Up! Best of Christmas

For this first card (above), I have stamped the ornament greeting in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched it out with 2 1/2" Circle Punch. The paper is from Season of Style paper stack (pictured below) and a bargain at $11.95 for 48 cardfront size double sided sheets of Christmas paper which perfectly coordinates with our cardstock). Cardstock colours are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler. I have used some of our Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine to tie around a brad at the top of the ornament. We also sell a punch that matches this ornament shape, and a stamp set that has 5 other ornaments. To get the pierced shape on the inside of the circle, I used our Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.

In the card below, I have stamped the image in Black Stazon (which is waterproof) and then coloured using a Blender Pen and the inside of my Cherry Cobbler, Crumb cake and Old Olive inkpads. This time I embossed the Cherry Cobbler cardstock in my BigShot using the Northern Flurry embossing folder (pictured below). My greeting is embossed with white embossing powder and comes from Petite Pairs stamp set.

Stampin up best of Christmas

In the card below, I have heat embossed the image using gold embossing powder, and used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack again. The greeting is done the same way as the card above. The embossing folder I have used on the Cherry Cobbler cardstock for these cards is Petals a Plenty (pictured below), which looks very much like Poinsettia flowers to me.

Stampin Up best of Christmas australia

This final card uses my favourite image from the set. I have watercoloured in the same way as card two, but using Cherry Cobbler, old Olive and Sahara Sand. This time I used a border punch instead of embossing on the Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Here's a look at the main Stampin' Up! products I have used to make these cards. If any of these products interest you, you can order them from me anywhere in Australia (either by email or by shopping online) and they will be delivered straight to your door.

A stack of gift cards.

I had a heap of downline and customer packages to go out last week and I wanted to make some gift cards to go with them. I can't believe how quickly these came together! I made 20 cards in less than an hour.

washi tape cards stampin up

I have used  the Stampin' Up! mini square envelopes, and cut the cards 6.5cm x 13.0cm and scored in the centre. Then I stamped one of the must have Gorgeous Grunge stamp set images, added some random strips of the bright and happy trio of Gingham Garden washi tape, then added the Bitty Butterfly and rhinestone. My greeting is from Six Sided Sampler, but you could use any greeting you had.

stampin up gorgeous grunge
Love how the envelope liners turned out! This is the smallest of the 3 shapes in the Envelope Die Framelits. Just a note about these framelits. At the moment these are 25% off, because Stampin' Up! wanted to slightly change the shape of the largest Framelit. Personally I didn't notice anything was wrong with it, so I think its a great buy. Oh how I LOVE that chevron print in our paper stacks, and the other 3 great prints!

Quick Male or Masculine Cards using Stampin' Up! On It's Way Simply Sent Kit.

Ready to go card kits are a great idea when you want to whip up some quick cards. The Stampin' Up! In It's Way Simply Sent kit is fabulous for male or masculine cards.

stampin up male cards
Here's some of the designs I came up with using this kit:

The basic card (there's 8 of everything here included, except the stamp). I love the quality of both the card and the stylish kraft envelope. There's embossed self stripes on the cards too and the cardstock weight panels are all adhesive - so it's so quick to put together. The colours are perfect for male or masculine cards.

For this one I added some Basic Black Chevron Ribbon:

Quick Christmas Card using the Stampin' Up! Mosaic Punch

Today I have a quick Christmas card for you. I have used the same colours as yesterday's card: Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Silver.

Stampin Up Mosaic Punch Christmas
I've used the Stampin' Up! Mosaic Punch and the lovely foil sheet in the Winter Frost DSP to make the ornaments. This specialty paper is lovely and shiny. You may also be able to spy a thin layer of silver around the Bermuda Bay layer. This is a new product in the 2013 Holiday Catalogue, Silver Foil Sheets. It's fabulous for Christmas.
