Stampin' Up! Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - BigShot sandwich and tips.

Hello friends. Today I have a quick and easy card for you as I wanted to show you how amazing and  multidimensional the beautiful new Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder is. You can find this folder on page 211 of Stampin' Up!'s new 2017 Annual Catalogue, or HERE in my Online Stampin' Up! Store.

 

These folders are thicker than our standard embossing folders (to accommodate the extra dimension), so here are a few tips to get a great result:

• Just use one sheet of cardstock and spritz each side lightly with water before you put it into the folder.
• Set up your BigShot sandwich with the BigShot base plate on the bottom, the folder next (with the spine going into the BigShot first), and then just one acrylic plate on top.
• Roll the folder through the BigShot one way, and then while the very end of the folder is still under the pressure of the BigShot roller, roll back the other way and out.
• If you are inpatient like me, you can dry any remaining damp spots on the cardstock with your heat gun.

I love the variation in depth of impression this Layered Leaves folder gives and can see I will be using it on lots of projects. Doesn't it look amazing in the new Incolour Lemon Lime Twist?

Stampin' Up! At Home With You and the beautiful doors of France.

Around this time last year  our cruise ship stop in Marseille). Paris was everything I dreamed it would be, and I could wander those streets for months I think. One of the things that I loved looking at and photographing (beyond the beautiful floral balconies) were the doors. They were so beautiful and ornate. Here's a beautiful one I saw at Aix En Provence, and there are some more ones from Paris at the end of my post.

 

It is those doors I was reminded of  and inspired by when I saw the new At Home with Me stamp set / bundle with matching At Home Framelits in the 2017 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I have a things about doors at the moment!

 

I'm also loving the new Wood Texture Designer Series Paper Stack. You get 48 6x6" woodgrain designs (4 each of 12 different double sided designs). I will be using this SO MUCH! It's great for stamping directly onto as I have here.

This was one of my first MUST HAVE's in the new catalogue because the versatility just jumped right out at me. Stampin' Up! Avant Garden: One of the free Salabration 2017 choices with a qualifying order

Today we are having a look at Avant Garden, another of the free sets you can earn with Stampin' Up! during Saleabration 2017.  I really like this set, and it's been a popular choice with the mix of sentiments and abstract / realistic floral images. Art With Heart Team Blog Hop: Showcasing Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper on Sale

Today some of my Art with Heart Stampin’ Up! team girls are sharing some wonderful ideas to inspire you with our Designer Series Papers. This month is the start of the new Stampin' Up! year and we have a special promotion on our Designer Series Paper, buy 3 get 1 FREE for the month of October and there is no limit! I am featuring the lovely Fruit Stand Designer Series paper. To be honest, this wasn't a paper that immediately caught my eye, but I received a small sample in a team product share and when I was looking for a paper to use for this card set, the bright colours really caught my eye and now I really like and have ordered a whole pack as part of the special so I can use more of it!

My project is a card box which holds four mini cards and envelopes. The box and envelopes are made using our Envelope Punch Board.

The box and envelope colour is Cucumber Crush and the card colour Flirty Flamingo which coordinate perfectly with the Fruit Stand DSP. The other colours featured in the DSP are Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizazz, Tangerine Tango, Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White.

The box holds four mini cards and handmade envelopes. The cards are 3.5" x 3.5" and the envelopes are made using the Envelope Punch Board starting with a piece of 6x6" DSP from the 2015-2016 InColour Paper Stack.

Here's some quick instructions to make the card box using the Envelope Punch Board.

Start with a piece of cardstock 8" x 8". Stamp on this if you wish. I have stamped some of the smaller images from Blooms and Wishes stamp set using Cucumber Crush ink.

Place the top left corner at the 3.5" mark on the punch board. Score and punch.

Move the top left corner I" to the left (to the 4.5" position) and score and punch again.

Rotate the cardstock 90 degrees anticlockwise. You don't need to pay attention to the ruler at the top anymore, just line up each of the score marks and punch and score.

Rotate and do this on the other two sides. Using a pair of paper snips, cut sideways on the bottom tabs so they fold inwards, and cut down on the top tabs so they fold downwards as shown.

Use a bone folder to crease each of the scored lines, Apply adhesive to the outside of the bottom flap.

Fold to close the side flaps over the bottom tab (place your bone folder inside the box and press down on a flat surface to apply pressure for better adhesion). The box closes with the addition of a belly band.

Stampin' Up! Confetti Celebration Shaker Cards

Shaker cards are so lovely to receive, and the beautifully coloured Fancy Frost sequins from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue, make very pretty shaker cards. Here are some cards I put together to congratulate some Art With Heart Team members recently.

I chose my colours to coordinate with the Fancy Frost sequins, so I have used Silver, Whisper White. Sweet Sugarplum and Pool party. The gorgeous silver ribbon I have used is from the Glitter Ribbon combo pack in the Holiday Catalogue.

I've embossed the front panel of the card using the Lucky Stars embossing folder in the Annual Catalogue.

 

I hope you get to have a go at a shaker card soon.
