Stampin' Up! Santa's Sleigh Thinlit Dies

Here's a super cute set of Christmas Thinlit dies to use with your BigShot or other die cutting machine. They are called the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits and you can find them in the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.

For this first card I have used the reindeer thinlit with some Christmas themed washi tape from the Presents and Pinecones product suite.

Santa's Sleigh Christmas card using Santa's Sleigh Thinlets and Presents and Pinecones washi tape from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue. Inspired by Linda Dalke. Card by Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.

It was a quick and simple card to make. The reindeer is cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and that's Cherry Cobbler twine around the neck. I've popped him up with dimensionals, and the base card is Cherry Cobbler. I have finished the card off with a greeting stamped in Emerald Envy.

Glitter rudolph

My second card uses the sleigh thinets in the set. I have cut the base sleigh in Mint Macaron, and the second layer in Dazzling Diamonds gimmer paper. I handcut the presents from the Presents and Pinecones Desghner Series Paper

Stampin' Up! Gift of Love Thinking of You Cards

Sadly lots of friends have been going through some hard times, so I wanted to send them a card to let them know I was thinking of them. I always tend to go for floral stamps in this circumstance. Gift of Love is one of the Hostess sets in this years Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. You can earn this set for free with a $250 order or party total. It's a lovely Gladioli image which can be 2 step stamped, but the outline image is also perfect  for watercolouring.

Stampin Up Gift of Love stamp set and Petal Burst embossing folder from 2016 Annual Catalogue. By Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

I've used the Petal Burst embossing folder on the 12x12 Kraft cardstock for my base card. For the colouring, I have used Sweet Sugarplum for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves. I've also stamped the Outline image in Crumb Cake on the inside panel of the card and the envelope to carry the theme through. You can view everything I have used in today's card in the links at the end of the post.

Bright and happy birthday card using Stampin' Up! Remarkable You

The sun is shining here in Melbourne today, and it's a bright 27C day, so how about a bright happy card to start the week? I love my garden and flowers, so Remarkable You was one of the stamp sets I "needed" from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Remarkable You 2b

The base card is Cucumber Crush, one of this years in colours. I have embossed it with the Lovely Lace embossing folder. My floral image is water-coloured with an Aqua-painter and Watermelon Wonder ink from the inside of the ink pad. Love these colours together. All products are linked at the end of the post.

Remarkable You 2

Stamping Tips for Today's Card:

  • Our watercolor paper is great quality and that really makes a difference when you are shading with an Aqua-painter and ink. I colour the whole image and then go over and over to add more colour. As the paper is high quality, you don't get any paper peeling off from overworking it.
  • I've just popped the flower section up with a couple of Dimensionals - the stem was just adhered with Snail.
  • To cut the shimmer edge, I used the Circles Framelits. Cut the small circle out first and then the larger around it. The black and white script paper is the same size as the large circle.
  • The sentiment set I have used today is Happy Happenings. It's one on my favourites from the Annual Catalogue. Covers lots of different sentiments and fits some punches too.

Happy Happenings

Here's the gorgeous Remarkable You set. Available in wood mount or clear mount (links at end of post).

Peeking through the window at Christmas using Stampin' Up! Hearth and Home Thinlits

I LOVED these new Hearth and Home Thinlits as soon as I saw them. I can see they will be so versatile. Today I have used them for a Christmas card with Wonderland stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Holiday catalogue.

Wonderland 3

To create the scene behind the window, I stamped the trees in Mossy Meadow three times without re-inking the stamp. I then sponged in the sky using Mint Macaron ink. Then I covered the whole panel with Versamark and Heat and Stick Powder, and poured on Dazzling Diamonds glitter while that was still molten. After shaking off the excess Dazzling Diamonds, just give the panel a quick burst of heat for about 10 seconds (don't overdo this step) to heat set it.

Wonderland 3b

I've used some other lovely new Holiday catalogue goodies here too. You can have a closer look at these products by clicking on the links at the end of the post. I have used the Softly Falling embossing folder, Christmas Greetings Thinlits for the word (found this a breeze to cut out with the new Precision Plate. The Thinlit literally fell off the foil paper), wooden snowflake embellishments and Wonderland metal embellishments.

Quick and simple butterfly themed cards

We have lots of awesome butterfly themed products in the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue, and they make it really quick and easy to make a wow card. Here's two butterfly themed cards I have made.  This one uses the Fluttering Wings embossing folder, with the Watercolor Wings 3 step stamp set stamped in Mint Macaron. I have added some bling with the silver metallic thread and by using the Greetings thinlits (LOVE these) to cut my greeting in silver glimmer paper.

Butterfly 1

This one uses the background stamp from 'You've Got This' along with a butterfly punched from Mint Macaron DSP in the 2015-17 In Colour stack (oops with the upside down writing - don't tell anyone OK?). For the centre of the butterfly, I have used a couple of Pink Pirouette Candy Dots (adhesive brads which come in packs of 100, 10 of each of 10 colours in each Stampin' Up! color group). These are great embellishments to have on hand.

A Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday card for SB115

Today I am featuring another card using the Stampin' Up! Remarkable You stamp set. This one is a birthday card based Stamping And Blogging's Sketch And Stamp SB#115.
.

Stampin Up Birthday Card using Remarkable You stamp set fr SB115. By Claire Daly Melbourne Australia.

I water-coloured the Calla Lily image twice (there are two flower in each image) and then cut out three of the flowers to tie together. I used Rose Red ink and my Aquapainter to colour the flowers with. The Smoky Slate background is embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder, and I have used the Everyday Chic Washi Tape and Neutrals Paper Stack for my background layers. My sentiment is from Happy Happenings. You can link to all the products at the end of the post.

Wedding Card for SB113 using Happy Happenings from Stampin' Up!

Hello.

Something a little different today - a wedding card. This week's Stamping and Blogging Sketch 113 and the new Stampin' Up! sentiment stamp set I received last week called Happy Happenings, were the base for my card.

Stampin' Up! handmade wedding card using Happy Happenings for SB113 by Claire Daly Australia

Lots of bits and pieces on this one and you will be able to view all of these products in the links below. Happy Happenings is going to be a favourite sentiment set for sure. I love the funky font and that it coordinates with one of my favourite punches, the Label Bracket punch (used for the sentiment on this card).

Stampin' Up! handmade wedding card using Happy Happenings for SB113 by Claire Daly Australia

I think a wedding card needs a bit of bling, so I have added some gold printed vellum, gold glimmer paper, gold foil punched hearts and some gold metallic thread. The little wooden heart embellishment I have used is from the Watercolor Wishes card kit.

Here is the sketch Sandi gave us to play with this week:

Stampin' Up! Bohemian Diagonal Card

I'm  a big fan of the rich bright colours in the Bohemian Designer Series Paper Pack, but sometimes using a lot together can overwhelm the project. Today's card show's how to use some scraps for a quick and easy project.

Tip:

When you are making diagonal cards like this, I find it easiest to stamp the greeting first, and line the paper strips up with the greeting.

The Stampin' Up! Boho Chic Embossing Folder is a great match for this paper pack too, coordinating the Bohemian style perfectly. You can view all the products I have used in the links below my signature.

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits Congratulations Card

Hello there.

A quick share today of a congrats card using the lovely Flower Patch stamp set and matching Flower Fair Framelits from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Annual Catalogue (links to my online store for all products used is at the end of my post).

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits Congratulations Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

I'm a bit annoyed with myself for the greeting not being straight :( I liked how my colours turned out though: Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate. I am LOVING Smoky Slate (the lighter of the two greys) right now.

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits Congratulations Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

Framelits make it so easy to have precision cutting. The matching Flower Flair Framelits for this stamp set are super east to line up using the magnetic platform. I have also used the Banner Framelits, and the Large Polka Dot embossing folder with my BigShot. You can check all the supplies out below my signature.

Stampin' Up! Cheerful Christmas Christmas Card

Type to get stick into more Christmas cards. Today I have used the Stampin' Up! set Cheerful Christmas, along with one of my favourite Christmas colour combinations: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Gold.

Stampin Up Cheerful Christmas Christmas card by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Melbourne Australia

The Cheerful Christmas Stamp Set is available in clear mount and wood mount (click on the links at the bottom of the post). Here's a look at it:

Cheerful ChristmasHere's some tips if you would like to recreate this card at home.

  • Cut the shape in the front of the card before you emboss with the embossing folder
  • The two oval Framelits I have used are the 4th biggest and 5th biggest ones.
    • Cut the Very Vanilla Oval shape using the 5th Biggest one (stamp and emboss your image first and use the Magnetic platform so your Framelit doesn’t move around when you cut).
    • Cut the oval in the front of the card using the 5th biggest one.
  • For the Old Olive frame: cut a large oval using the 5th largest Framelit and use the paper piercer and template to pierce the holes around the outside. Then after that, use the 4th largest oval Framelit to cut the oval in the middle (use the magnetic platform so it doesn’t move around). This is the best order to make the frame.
  • Colour the adhesive rhinestones with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities (colour while they are still on the adhesive sheet)

I hope you enjoyed today's card. See you back here again tomorrow,

Stampin' Up! Mixed Bunch and Lovely Lace Embossing Folder for SB65

Today I have a very bright and out there card, a little different from my normal vintage style. I wanted to showcase the new Stampin' Up! Lovely Lace embossing folder which is just beautiful. The layout for this card comes from this weeks Stamping and Blogging sketch SB65.

Stampin' Up! Mixed Bunch and Lovely Lace Embossing Folder for SB65 by Claire Daly Stampin Up! Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

My colours are Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist (both new 2014-16 In Colours), Coastal Cabana and Silver. The flower comes from Mixed Bunch (and the matching Blossom Punch), and my greeting is from a cool new Stampin' Up! set called @SoSocial. Here's a closer look at the Lovely Lace embossing folder.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Petals and Blendabilities

Hello. Today's share is a card based on a layout of a card that was displayed on our Grand Vacation share day. I'm not sure who made the original card, it may have been one of the concept artists. BUT I wanted to show off the cute layout, so I reproduced it using Peaceful Petals. Unfortunately my twine came a little loose whist taking the photo - woops! I'm sure you get the idea though.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Petals and Blendabilities

I've coloured the image from Peaceful Petals using our new alcohol markers, called Blendabilities. These are just on demonstrator preorder at the moment but are very close to being available to customers, so stay tuned.

Have a fabulous day and I'll see you back here tomorrow for another project share.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Petals coloured with Blendabilities

Hello lovely people. Today I have a card using one of my favourite Stampin' Up! sets for colouring stamped images. It is from the current Occasions Catalogue here in Australia, and is called Peaceful Petals (grab it before it goes on June 30th - details below).

I made this card and delivered with a box of chocolates yesterday to a neighbour who recently had a bad fall. I think a handmade card (and chocolate!) is the perfect way to let someone know you have been thinking of them. She is such a lovely neighbour.

I coloured the image with the new Stampin' Up! alcohol markers, Blendabilities. I used the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive sets. These aren't quite available to customers yet, but demonstrators get to play with them on a preorder (Join with the current $85 special during June and you can preorder these and other new catalogue products too - email me for details).

As I mentioned this stamp set is FABULOUS! I love it because it has really pretty outline images which are great for colouring and includes leaves. It also has two very versatile sentiments and I love the font. It's only available until June 30th, so grab it now.

Stampin' Up! Trust God Grand Vacation 2014 Swap.

This was the swap card I put together for the Grand Vacation. It was so exciting to be involved in this swap and I received some amazing cards in return.

The butterfly was gold embossed and watercoloured, and the embossed area on the apothecary accents layer was rubbed with the Versamark ink pad, and had Gold embossing powder sprinkled over the top before being heat embossed.

Embossing Folders Stamping Technique using Brayer and You're Lovely Stamp Set

Here is the third embossing folders technique I promised to show you using Stampin' up! products.

dtampin up australia deco labels you're lovely

This technique is created by brayering ink onto the debossed side of an embossing folder (this one is Beautifully Baroque by Stampin' up! - see link below). I brayered Early Espresso ink onto the debossed side inside the folder (which is basically flat with the pattern indented downwards), then inserted a piece of Primrose Petals cardstock into the folder and embossed like normal. I love the effect you can get with this technique!

The floral label is done using the You're Lovely Saleabration stamp set (free with a $90 order up to March 31st). This is a perfect fit for our Deco Labels Framelits. The words of the greeting are from Perfect Pairs, which is a very versatile greeting set to add to your collection.

Vintage Stampin' Up! Birthday Card

Hello lovelies. Today I have been playing with my supplies to make a vintage birthday card. Vintage is my favourite stamping style!

stampin up australia perfectly penned

To me, vintage says distressed, antique, texture, lace, filigree, baroque and lots more, so I tried to incorporate some of those elements into my card (all my supplies are shown and linked at the bottom of the post). Here's what I did:

  • I used the Beautifully Baroque Embossing folder with Pool Party Coordinations cardstock, so I could lightly sand the embossing to give a distressed finish.
  • I added flourishes (clear embossed) on the craft cardstock (from Happy Day stamp set). Love the shape of those Deco Label Framelits!
  • For my greeting, I stamped in Pool Party onto Naturals Ivory cardstock which is a great look for vintage cards. I used the Artisan Label punch for those ends, and I sponged the edge of all my layers with Crumb Cake ink.
  • I also used some vintage inspired DSP (from Soho Subway = LOVE)
  • For texture I added lace, sequin trim, linen thread, antique brad, pearls (you can add so many cool things to vintage cards :)
