Stampin' Up! Masculine cards - Occasions and Saleabration 2016

Hello friends.

Today I have some masculine cards for you. Lots of my customer tell me they struggle with making masculine cards, and I do confess that I don't find them the easiest either. These ones are based on the Shine On cardstock weight designer series paper in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue. For the greeting I have used the 2016 Saleabration set, Perfect Pairings. There is still time to get this set for free with a $90 order (offer ends March 3tst).

Hope you like these card ideas. I recommend checking out the Shine On DSP as it's really great - one side has silver foil patterns, the other side either Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder or Cucumber Crush patterns.

Here's a closer look at those colours together:

Stampin' Up! Party with Cake Birthday Card

Hello. I'm back from a couple of weeks family holiday down on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and the boys are both back at school this morning so I'm raring to go on a creative 2016!

One of my intentions this year is to send more of the cards I make! It all started with one of my fabulous Stampin' Up! friends, Shannon West, vowing to #imbringingbirthdaysback by sending handmade cards and not just wishing people happy birthday on Facebook. Now THAT was a bandwagon I wanted to be on! There really is nothing like a handmade card to brighten someone's day. Anyone with me on that goal? I'm aiming to send 200 cards this year, and am off to a good start with 14 cards in the mail last month.

  12540640_10153369830628951_6389762843800341112_n

I'll keep you posted with my total during the year. I know I can do this. Imagine all the samples I will have to share too!

Here's a birthday card I completed this week using the Party with Cake stamp set, and It's My Party DSP from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue. I've also added a balloon using the new balloon punch which cut 2 size of balloons (how easy can birthday cards get?).

Wonderland, Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way Stampin' Up! 2015 Christmas card.

Hello lovely friends.

Today's card features some more of the 2015 Holiday Catalogue products which are retiring on the 4th January (or before if sold out). I really like how it turned out with the contrast of the black, gold and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.

Stampin Up, Christmas Cards 2015, Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Antique Tags, Wonderland DSP, Claire Daly, Art with Heart, Australia, Melbourne

I have used the luxurious Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper which is a fabulous combination of gold, black and white. I have cut a couple of layers using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and my Bigshot; one in Gold Foil and the other in White Glimmer Paper (love how this looks like snow).  To finish off I just added some sequins, a greeting from the Antique Tags stamp set (this greeting perfectly fits the Washi Label punch) and some gold cord trim.

I think these Edgelit dies and matching Jingle all the Way stamp set have been one of the most popular Christmas crafting items in my online store this season. If you would like to recreate this card, I've listed the product used after my signature below. I'm always happy to answer any questions by email or phone too. You can contact me HERE.

Have a happy day and thanks for visiting,

Kind regards,

Claire

Three Stampin Up 2015 Christmas cards for you.

Hello there friends. Time to catch up on posting some Christmas cards I've completed over the past few weeks. Hope you find some inspiration here. Lots of these products are retiring from the current Holiday Catalogue, so if there is something you love, the product links are below my signature.

Love these colours of Mint Macaron, Rose Red, Silver and White together, I have used the Among the Branches Stamp Set, leftovers from the Oh What Fun Tag Kit, Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver Cording, 1/8" striped ribbon and Silver Glimmer Paper. You NEED a Triple Banner Punch to make punching those flag ends a breeze. These days that's my most used Stampin' Up! tool besides my Stampin' Trimmer.

Next up we have a card I made using one of the cards from the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Card Collection. Project Life cards make awesome element for cards too. I have also used some Cherry Cobbler Thick Bakers Twine, some Gold Cording Trim, a Snowflake Element and a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper and Home for Christmas Enamel Dots. My base card is Cherry Cobbler.

This one is a super simple one that could quickly and easily be reproduced into a batch of cards. The stamp set used here is Cosy Christmas, and the DSP is from Season of Cheer. I stamped the Santa and sleigh image in Soft Sky onto Soft Sky cardstock, and my greeting was coloured direct to rubber using my Soft Sky, Mossy Meadow and Real Red markers. I've also used the 2.5" Circle Punch and Tree Punch.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards. I have another 4 coming tomorrow morning in another post, so stay tuned. Until then, stay happy.

Art With Heart Team Blog Hop: Memory Keeping

Awht blog hop start
Welcome to my Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for November. This month some of the girls are focusing on Memory Keeping (Scrapbooking/Project Life). We all take photos right? Well, capturing every day moments is so special and we need to document these to cherish. We are all passionate about memory keeping and we want to continue to inspire each other, and you, as we move forward in 2016!

First up I have a traditional scrapbook page of a favourite photo from last Christmas. I have used the Words of Truth stamp set on this page, along with the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper

Stampin Up Scrapbook Page 2015 Claire Daly Australia. Using Words of Truth stamp set and Everyday Chic DSP.

I have white embossed the title (be sure to use the embossing buddy when embossing white on black). Then I stamped the other phrases from the set and used them as journalling. For some additional journalling I downloaded a free typewriter font, and used that on a spare journalling card. I've also added an antique brad and a spare wooden heart I had leftover from a card kit.

You will LOVE the Words of Truth stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Just use the title or item number 139397 in the search box in  my online store (red button top right column).

I also have another page to show you form the Project Life New York album I am working on. The Project Life by Stampin' Up! Let's Get Away Card Collection is awesome for travel pages!

I love how easy it is to tell your story as you go with Project Life. Just pop in the journalling cards and write away. I also use punches to cut out bits of other cards to add additional bits and pieces to the cards sometimes (such as the punched out world shape centre top.

Here is a closer look at the Project Life by Stampin' Up! Card Collection, Accessory Pack and coordinating stamp set. All of these can be purchased in my online store (red button top right) under the Project Life section.

Stampin' Up! Reason for the Season Vintage Hand-made Christmas Card

Hello friends. I hope this finds you well and happy. Today I have a vintage style Christmas card for you using the Reason for the Season stamp set from the 2015 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. I love the poinsettia's in this set, as well as the vintage fonts.

Stampin' Up! Reason for the Season Christmas Card 2015 by Claire Daly Australia

Here's some tips for recreating this card at home:

  • The Poinsettia is water-coloured in Real Red and Old Olive and I created 3 layers and popped Dimensionals in between each layer to give the card extra dimension.
  • My cardstock colours are Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Crumb Cake.
  • The 'A Merry Christmas to You' greeting in this set fits perfectly into the Decorative Label punch.
  • The center of my Poinsettia is made using Gold Glitz Dazzling Details.
  • Make creating tags super easy by using the tag topper punches (we have 2 types) and the Triple Layer Banner punch which makes banner ends a breeze.
  • Inked edges, ripped paper, tea lace doileys, linen thread and crochet trim all add to the vintage look.
  • The Home for Christmas DSP is perfect for vintage style Christmas cards - I LOVE this music notes sheet from the pack.

Bright and happy birthday card using Stampin' Up! Remarkable You

The sun is shining here in Melbourne today, and it's a bright 27C day, so how about a bright happy card to start the week? I love my garden and flowers, so Remarkable You was one of the stamp sets I "needed" from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Remarkable You 2b

The base card is Cucumber Crush, one of this years in colours. I have embossed it with the Lovely Lace embossing folder. My floral image is water-coloured with an Aqua-painter and Watermelon Wonder ink from the inside of the ink pad. Love these colours together. All products are linked at the end of the post.

Remarkable You 2

Stamping Tips for Today's Card:

  • Our watercolor paper is great quality and that really makes a difference when you are shading with an Aqua-painter and ink. I colour the whole image and then go over and over to add more colour. As the paper is high quality, you don't get any paper peeling off from overworking it.
  • I've just popped the flower section up with a couple of Dimensionals - the stem was just adhered with Snail.
  • To cut the shimmer edge, I used the Circles Framelits. Cut the small circle out first and then the larger around it. The black and white script paper is the same size as the large circle.
  • The sentiment set I have used today is Happy Happenings. It's one on my favourites from the Annual Catalogue. Covers lots of different sentiments and fits some punches too.

Happy Happenings

Here's the gorgeous Remarkable You set. Available in wood mount or clear mount (links at end of post).

Pretty Petals and Wild About Flowers Hello Card

Hello stampers! Hope you are having a lovely day.

Today I wanted to show you a super quick and easy card layout I have used quite a bit with cards. I love how it's turned out with the black background and contrasting papers in the black toned papers in the Pretty Petals DSP stack.

Pretty Petals DSP and Wild About Flowers Hello card. Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia

It's super simple to put this card together. Here are the steps:

  2. Stamped panel is height of card and 4.7cm (or 1 & 7/8") wide.
  3. Image is stamped in Old Olive and Crisp Canteloupe
  4. Horizontal DSP piece is 13.5cm (or 5 & 1/4") in length and 4.5cm (or 1 & 3/4") in width with two corners rounded as shown.

Stampin' Up! Wild About Flowers for SB116

Hello. Today I have a retirement card for you using a lovely floral stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Wild About Flowers. It has some great set for retirement and cards for people who are leaving to go somewhere, I especially love this ' You'll be Missed' sentiment. It kind of says it all doesn't it?

Stampin Up Retirement Card using Wild About Flowers and Pretty Petals DSP for SB116 by Claire Daly Melbourne Australia

My card is based on this week's Stamping and Blogging DT sketch, SB 116. I couldn't quite bring myself to angle the layer of DSP behind the stamped layer though (sorry Sandi!). I really like the dramatic black patterned papers in the Pretty Petals DSP stack. I have picked up a couple of the colours from the DSP for my stamped image (Calypso Coral and Old Olive) and added some Old Olive Candy Dots.

There are some super cute new baby sets in the Stampin' Up! 2015 Annual Catalogue and today we are playing with Sweet L'il One for the Stamping and Blogging Design Team sketch SB112.

Stampin Up Sweet L'il One Stamp Set, Sweet L'il Things DSP & Washi for SB112 by Claire Daly SU Demo Australia

It's a super sweet set and the matching Sweet Li'l Things Designer Paper and Washi Tape have fabulous colours and designs for baby and toddler cards. LOVE the colours in them. Picking out a couple of colours from the DSP for your stamping (in this case Tip Top Taupe and Pool Party) makes it so easy to create coordinating cards.

Stampin' Up! Bohemian Diagonal Card

I'm  a big fan of the rich bright colours in the Bohemian Designer Series Paper Pack, but sometimes using a lot together can overwhelm the project. Today's card show's how to use some scraps for a quick and easy project.

Stampin Up Bohemian embossing folder and DSP. Card by Claire Daly SU Demo Australia

Tip:

When you are making diagonal cards like this, I find it easiest to stamp the greeting first, and line the paper strips up with the greeting.

The Stampin' Up! Boho Chic Embossing Folder is a great match for this paper pack too, coordinating the Bohemian style perfectly. You can view all the products I have used in the links below my signature.

Here's my colour combination for today's cardstock, ink and ribbon which was inspired by the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.

Christmas in July - Stampin' Up! Lots of Joy for SB111

Today is the first of July, and a fun time to celebrate Christmas in July in Australia where we can enjoy all the winter Christmas treats and experiences that are enjoyed in the Northern Hemisphere at Christmas. I'm celebrating with my first blog Christmas card for the year for the Stamping and Blogging Design Team.

Stampin Up Lots of Joy Christmas card by Claire Daly Melbourne Australia for SB111.

Lots of Joy is one of the new Christmas sets in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I love it because:

  • The plaid reminds me of Scotland where my Grandparents are from.
  • It has three great greetings
  • Images coordinate with the 1.5" circle, 1" square and Christmas tree punches (see links at end of post)
  • It has a lot of great coordinating colours: Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.
  • It's a great way to use the long lines of rhinestones in the adhesive rhinestone packs! Line them up with the stripes and you have adhesive tinsel :)

Stampin' Up! Timeless Elegance and One Big Meaning for SB108

Hello friends.

Today I get to share one of my favourite products from the new 2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue with you, this beautiful 12x12 paper pack called Timeless Elegance. Oh my goodness, how beautiful is it? Reminds me of an old English cottage somewhere sunny and peaceful. I just wanted to use it on a card straight out of the pack as there were so many beautiful designs on the pages. I think I managed to use 4 different sheets here. Today's card is for the Stamping and Blogging Design Team weekly sketch, SB108. Don't forget you can play along with the sketch now too and link your image (more details at the end of the post).

Stampin Up Timeless Elegance DSP and One Big Meaning Stamp Set for SB108 by Claire Daly, Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

The coordinating colours given for this 12x12 double sided paper pack (there's 12 sheets, 2 each of 6 designs) are Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Very Vanilla. I found Tip Top Taupe is a great coordinating colour and I have used Blushing Bride as my pink. I have stamped directly onto one pattern of the paper, used another pattern for the scallop mat, another under the lace and twine, and that final beautiful rose pattern for the main layer. I have seen some lovely cards where the roses have been coloured with sponge daubers and ink, but I thought I'd start with them 'a la natural today'.

You might also spy one of the new adhesive metal rimmed pearls (these are flat back) in the centre of my flower. My greeting is from a great new thankyou set called One Big Meaning. You can view all the products I have used today in the links below.

CASEing the Catty Stampin' Up! Challenges

I'm excited to have another opportunity to share my Stampin' Up! creative projects as part of the design team for an all new challenge blog, called CASEing the Catty. I love the idea behind the challenges by the lovely Bron Eastley. The challenges are 100% Stampin' Up! and you can view the individual products used in each product in links to my online Stampin' Up! store at the end of each post. The idea of the challenge is to encourage you to case a project from a category in the 2014 Stampin'  Up! Catalogue. It;s a fabulous challenge blog so I hope you will play along. This week it was Gifts and Packaging.

Decorated gift box for CASE challenge 1 by Claire Daly Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

I chose to CASE the gift box pictured top left on page 14 of the 2014 Australian Stampin' Up! Catalogue. I liked the use of the doily and belly band, which could be customised for so many different types of projects. The base box for the project is the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes where you get 8 pre-cut and scored boxes with acetate sleeves, for just $11.95. Embellishing your own gift boxes gives extra WOW to your gifts, and lets your personality shine through to the recipient. It's a great way to use up paper and embellishment left overs and it's easy to make your gifts look SO pretty!

I chose to embellish the gift box using one of my favourite sheets from the All Abloom DSP paper stack, with lots of great colours in it including Mossy Meadow, Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight. I also clear embossed a similar image fr0m I Like You Hostess Set on the box for some subtle decoration.

For my actual embellishment, I added some contrasting Strawberry Slush paper from In Colour paper stack, along with some Mossy Meadow stitched satin ribbon, Gold bakers twine, Gold Sequin Trim, a butterfly and a greeting. You can view all the products I used in my online Stampin' Up! store, just click on the links below.

I hope you enjoyed today's project share. Make sure you head over to the CASEing the Catty blog and check out the other projects from the talented design team, and submit your own project. I love pretty gift packaging and I'd really like to do more projects like this to share with you, so watch this space.

Have a fabulous week.
