Stampin' Up! New Catalogue Sneak Peek: Fabulous Flamingo

Had a fun day stamping with a couple of friends last week, and got to play with a new soon to be released Stampin' Up! stamp set called Fabulous Flamingo. It will be in the new 2017/18 Annual Catalogue which I am distributing to my customers this month (click HERE to see how to get yours).

I'm not sure where my love affair with Flamingos began, but I totally love them. I haven't seen many in real like, but they are so graceful in pictures and they seem to be very on trend in beach wear, clothing, stationery etc.

This is the second Flamingo themed set we have (the other being Pop of Paradise which is more of a solid stamp). I really like that this new one has many different options, with three layers to the stamp. I have stamped the darker pink in Flirty Flamingo ink (I find it works best to stamp that one first), the lighter pink is Pink Pirouette and the outline in black. My background layer and water is stamped in Smoky Slate.

Shaker cards are so lovely to receive, and the beautifully coloured Fancy Frost sequins from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue, make very pretty shaker cards. Here are some cards I put together to congratulate some Art With Heart Team members recently.

You're So Lovely Kit and Stamp Set from Stampin Up 2016 Occasions Catalogue.

Over the last few weeks, I've been having a play with one of the kits in the Stampin' Up! 2016 Occasions Catalogue, called You're So Lovely. Gold foil is so on trend right now, and this kit is a base kit you can play with to create some looks of your choice.

Let me show you some of the things I have made with this kits so far, and then I'll explain more about why I love the kit. I made a whole bunch of Congrats cards to send for some recent team achievements.

For these ones I added a few extra embellishments: some of the gold Metallic glitter tape which is one of the Saleabration choices, some gold buttone and some twine/linen thread. The butterfly die cut are included in the kit, along with the sponge brayer to colour them any colour you like.

Here's a closer look at the products. First up there is the kit which contains enough supplies to make 12 cards (with envelopes) and 12 gift bags. I'll be showing the gift bags in a later post, as soon as I get the chocolate eggs to fill them (temporarily pop in there for the few minutes while I take the photo and then eat them :) - love my job!).

You're so lovely Project Kit Stampin Up

Herein lies why I LOVE this kit - you get to play LOTS with ink and can customise things a lot, as well as have products left over at the end to use on other cards.

  • See those clear sheets? They are masks, and you can either use the negative or positive bits to place on your card and sponge over to create some cool effects.
  • There's also the sponge brayer (which comes with two head pieces you can interchange and also wash in running water after use. This allows to you achieve both a soft look (like on the first few cards) or a more saturated look (like on the butterfly cards). It's all about PLAY!
  • There are also some cute die cuts to play with including label in kraft or black which match the stamp set perfectly.
  • Adhesive gold tars and brads add extra embellishments to your cards.

You also get instructions and full colour pictures of what you could create.

There is also a matching stamp set. While I have used this on my projects, you could honestly still have heaps of fun with the kit without it. I'm all for matchy matchy though!

Stampin' Up! Remarkable You for SB114

I LOVE a good floral image to colour, so I was all over the new Stampin' Up! set Remarkable You when it appeared in the 2015 Annual Catalogue. Today's card features one of the flowers (which we think is a lotus flower or waterlily) water coloured, along with a greeting from the set. It's based on this week's Stamping and Blogging Design Team sketch SB114.

Stampin Up Remarkable You for SB114 by Claire Daly Australia

Here's the colour combination I have used today.

  Stampin Up Colour Combinations #color #colour #stampinup

Stampin' Up! RemarkableYou by Claire Day Melbourne Australia for SB114

Tips for recreating this card:

  • I water coloured the floral image using an Aqua painter (see all supplies below) and the ink inside the lid of the Rose Red ink pad.
  • Stamp your image in Jet Black Stazon so you can watercolour without the image outline smudging.
  • Use our high quality Watercolor Paper for a great result. It really does make a difference as you can blend over and over without the paper pilling.
  • The Triple Banner Punch makes cutting the banner ends on this card a breeze.
  • Both flowers were cut out using our super sharp Paper Snips. The left hand flower is popped up with Dimensional foam dots (not the stem though).
  • Stamp an extra bit of the leaf pattern onto Cucumber Crush and cut out a few leaves to layer over the greeting banner.

Here's today sketch that the lovely Sandi MacIver has given us to play with this week:

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits Congratulations Card

Hello there.

A quick share today of a congrats card using the lovely Flower Patch stamp set and matching Flower Fair Framelits from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Annual Catalogue (links to my online store for all products used is at the end of my post).

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits Congratulations Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

I'm a bit annoyed with myself for the greeting not being straight :( I liked how my colours turned out though: Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate. I am LOVING Smoky Slate (the lighter of the two greys) right now.

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits Congratulations Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

Framelits make it so easy to have precision cutting. The matching Flower Flair Framelits for this stamp set are super east to line up using the magnetic platform. I have also used the Banner Framelits, and the Large Polka Dot embossing folder with my BigShot. You can check all the supplies out below my signature.

Stampin' Up! Be The Star and matching Star Framelet Dies

Hello. It's Wednesday which means it's time for the Stamping and Blogging DT Challenge. Sandi has given us another lovely sketch to work with today. Here's my interpretation:

image from http://s3.amazonaws.com/hires.aviary.com/k/mr6i2hifk4wxt1dp/14102911/9bd6abc9-9551-48a7-8b1a-53a8ee8b75e6.png

This card is quite different to my usual style, but you know sometimes you need a quick, clean and simple card to congratulate someone on something awesome. I like to make those cards bright and cheerful and I think Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and a little bling do the job well.

The Star Framelit Dies (which I used to cut the stars) are a fabulous investment and we now have 3 different stamp sets they coordinate perfectly with. Here's the 'Be The Star' stamp set I used today. You can view all the other products I used on today's card in the links at the bottom of the post.

Stampin' Up! Bravo and Star Framelits for SB68

Hello lovely friends. It's time to play along with another Stamping and Blogging sketch challenge which is always a fun part of my week. This week we have added another person to our international design team as well,  so even more inspiration. Here's my card for SB68.

Stampin Up Bravo, Flashback DSP and Star Framelits for SB68. By Claire Daly, Stampin' Up! dem Melbourne Australia

I have made the Flashback DSP (LOVE these colours) and the On Film Framelits the centrepiece of my card, and embellished with the Star Framelits which I am really enjoying using. The large sentiment comes from a new Photopolymer set in the 2014 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, called Bravo. You can check out all the products I have used for todays card in the links below.

Stampin' Up! Masculine card featuring Bravo and Dotty Angles for SB64

Hello friends. Today I have a masculine card for you based on another of the fabulous Stamping and Blogging sketch challenges. I have used a couple of new Stampin' Up! photopolymer sets Bravo and Dotty Angles.

Stampin' Up! Masculine card featuring Bravo and Dotty Angles for SB64 by Claire Daly Stampin Up Australia www.clairedaly.typepad.com

I'm really impressed with the quality of our Photopolymer stamps. They stamp beautifully. My colours here are Smoky Slate, Real Red and Basic Black. I have clear embossed the Dotty Angles stamp onto the first layer of Smoky Slate cardstock. The main stamped circle is cut out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, and one of the Starburst Framelits is a great size to mat this circle.

Stampin' Up! Zoo Babies in Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry

Stampin Up Zoo Babies

Totally love these cute little animals in the Stampin' Up! Zoo Babies stamp set! I have just stamped them directly onto Whisper White using Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Basic Black. Background cardstock is Crushed Curry.

I like how the black adds that extra contrast to the card, The yummy black chevron paper is one of the sheets from Modern Medley DSP pack. Love my great collection of Stampin' Up! punches too. Makes it so easy to add quick and easy accents to a card.
