Happy World Card Making Day and 2 new Stampin' Up! Specials for October

Cardmaking is pretty cool right? I mean we get great 'me time' while we are making the card and get to express our creativity, and then we get to pop that in an envelope and send (or give) those happy wishes in the card to someone else, so those good feelings happen all over again.

Before I started making cards, my card giving was limited to Christmas, birthdays, weddings and new baby's. I'm excited I have now had my eyes opened to so many other great reasons to send a card. Some of my favourite reasons to send a card are 'hello' or 'just because'. I think it's the unexpected nature of those cards that appeal to me as a sender. I also love to send thank you cards and congratulations cards (which I send a lot of with an amazing team like the one I have). There's so many reasons to send a card.

For 5 days only (October 1-5), Stampin' Up! have some great card-making items on special. Don't miss out on these great bargains.

You can shop them in my Online Store HERE.

We also have a great Designer Series Paper deal this month. Buy 3 packs and get a 4th pack free. This is an awesome deal for scrapbookers and cardmakers.

Art With Heart Team Showcase: 8 ways with the Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Stamp set / Rose Garden Thinlets.

Hello crafty friends.

Myself and many of the clever ladies in my Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team have been playing with the Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden Thinlit Dies from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue.

8 ways to use the Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Stamp set and Rose Garden Thinlets from the Occasions 2016 Catalogue. Cards by the Art With Heart Team, Australia

These two products coordinate perfectly and if you buy them together as a bundle you save 15% (Tip: when you order a bundle make sure you use the bundle code and not just the two individual codes). Here's a look at the products:

Rose Wonder Stamp Set

Rose Garden Thinlits

Now here's a look at some of the way we have used this bundle. This one is by me, I chose to just use the Framelits here. My DSP is from the Love Blooms DSP stack, and my color are Crumb Cake and Rose Red. My greeting is from Party with Cake, which is one of my favourites birthday greeting sets at the moment (LOVE the typewriter font).

Rose Wonder / Rose Garden stamp set and thinlets by Stampin Up. Birthday card by Claire Daly SU Demo, Melbourne Australia.

My colour scheme is Rose Red and Crumb Cake, with the patterned paper from the Love Blossoms DSP stack. My greeting is from Party with Cake stamp set because I am totally in love with the typewriter font and all the birthday sentiments in this set.

This next card is by Kathryn Mangledorf in South Australia, Kathryn has used the inside cut outs from the Framelits. Learn how on Kathryn's blog post about this card here. Kathryn does regular classes in the Adelaide Hills.

These next two are by Rachel Woollard, who does regular classes and catalogue launches in Ringwood East Victoria. I particularly love how Rachel has layered the stamped and die cut leaves on this first card.

Patterned DSP make a fabulous backing for the die cut rose too.

These two cards were  created by Genna Gifford in Pakenham, for her recent catalogue launch. Isn't this amazing? Genna does classes and catalogue launches.

This bundle also is a great one for making sympathy cards. Here's another card by Genna.

Ros Davidson is another team member who does classes in Skye, south east Melbourne. Ros loved Genna's first card, and wanted to case it.

Finally, here's another card by me. In this card I only wanted to use the single branch from the Framelits.

I hope you have liked this group of project using the Rose Wonder bundle, and you enjoyed visiting my talented teams blogs. You can view some of the product in the links below my post.

Stampin' Up! Party with Cake Birthday Card

Hello. I'm back from a couple of weeks family holiday down on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and the boys are both back at school this morning so I'm raring to go on a creative 2016!

One of my intentions this year is to send more of the cards I make! It all started with one of my fabulous Stampin' Up! friends, Shannon West, vowing to #imbringingbirthdaysback by sending handmade cards and not just wishing people happy birthday on Facebook. Now THAT was a bandwagon I wanted to be on! There really is nothing like a handmade card to brighten someone's day. Anyone with me on that goal? I'm aiming to send 200 cards this year, and am off to a good start with 14 cards in the mail last month.

  12540640_10153369830628951_6389762843800341112_n

I'll keep you posted with my total during the year. I know I can do this. Imagine all the samples I will have to share too!

Here's a birthday card I completed this week using the Party with Cake stamp set, and It's My Party DSP from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue. I've also added a balloon using the new balloon punch which cut 2 size of balloons (how easy can birthday cards get?).

Stampin' Up! Saleabration and Occasions 2016 Sneak Peek. Hello stamp set and Botanical Builders Framelits

Hello. Today I have another sneak peek for you. I've used the Hello stamp set which is one of Stampin' Up!'s free stamp sets available to earn during Saleabration 2016 which starts on January 5th (this one is one of the limited time sets so only available until February 15th). I have also used the Botanical Builders Framelits (part of the Botanical suite of products in the Occasions 2016 Catalogue). Love the detail in these!

The greeting in the centre I actually gold embossed. It's a bit hard to catch in the image above, so here is a side on. How cute are the gold Bow Paper Clips? These are another of the cute embellishments in the Occasions 2016 Catalogue.

The Botanical Builder Framelits are AMAZING! Our most detailed flower / leaf Framelits ever. I particularly love the fern Framelit and all the bits and pieces which go in the flower centres. A couple of the flowers have pop up bits too which give fabulous dimension.

Wonderland, Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way Stampin' Up! 2015 Christmas card.

Hello lovely friends.

Today's card features some more of the 2015 Holiday Catalogue products which are retiring on the 4th January (or before if sold out). I really like how it turned out with the contrast of the black, gold and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.

Stampin Up, Christmas Cards 2015, Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Antique Tags, Wonderland DSP, Claire Daly, Art with Heart, Australia, Melbourne

I have used the luxurious Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper which is a fabulous combination of gold, black and white. I have cut a couple of layers using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and my Bigshot; one in Gold Foil and the other in White Glimmer Paper (love how this looks like snow).  To finish off I just added some sequins, a greeting from the Antique Tags stamp set (this greeting perfectly fits the Washi Label punch) and some gold cord trim.

I think these Edgelit dies and matching Jingle all the Way stamp set have been one of the most popular Christmas crafting items in my online store this season. If you would like to recreate this card, I've listed the product used after my signature below. I'm always happy to answer any questions by email or phone too. You can contact me HERE.

Have a happy day and thanks for visiting,

Kind regards,

Claire

Stampin' Up! Products Used Today:

Three Stampin Up 2015 Christmas cards for you.

Hello there friends. Time to catch up on posting some Christmas cards I've completed over the past few weeks. Hope you find some inspiration here. Lots of these products are retiring from the current Holiday Catalogue, so if there is something you love, the product links are below my signature.

Love these colours of Mint Macaron, Rose Red, Silver and White together, I have used the Among the Branches Stamp Set, leftovers from the Oh What Fun Tag Kit, Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver Cording, 1/8" striped ribbon and Silver Glimmer Paper. You NEED a Triple Banner Punch to make punching those flag ends a breeze. These days that's my most used Stampin' Up! tool besides my Stampin' Trimmer.

Stampin Up, Christmas Cards 2015, Among the Branches Stamp Set, Claire Daly, Art with Heart, Australia/, Oh What Fun Tag Kit

Next up we have a card I made using one of the cards from the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Card Collection. Project Life cards make awesome element for cards too. I have also used some Cherry Cobbler Thick Bakers Twine, some Gold Cording Trim, a Snowflake Element and a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper and Home for Christmas Enamel Dots. My base card is Cherry Cobbler.

Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Christmas Card 2015 Claire Daly Australia

This one is a super simple one that could quickly and easily be reproduced into a batch of cards. The stamp set used here is Cosy Christmas, and the DSP is from Season of Cheer. I stamped the Santa and sleigh image in Soft Sky onto Soft Sky cardstock, and my greeting was coloured direct to rubber using my Soft Sky, Mossy Meadow and Real Red markers. I've also used the 2.5" Circle Punch and Tree Punch.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards. I have another 4 coming tomorrow morning in another post, so stay tuned. Until then, stay happy.

Stampin' Up! OnStage make and takes November 2015 and Occasions / Spring Summer 2016 Catalogue sneak peeks

I've just returned from a fabulous day and a half of training and celebration with Stampin' Up! in a new training format which happens around the world in over 12 locations. It was very cool! I will post later tight with details of the event and the goodies we got, but I wanted to show you some sneak peeks of new Occasions catalogue products.

We had four make and takes spread throughout the Saturday of the event. We got to make and take most of the elements of the cards below and I added some bits and made them into full cards when I got home.

Totally in love with this bright happy birthday suite of products called It's My Party. The colours are so bold and bright with a great contrast of basic black and whisper white. This make and take only shows some of the new paper, and the tummy coordinating Mint Macaron and Basic Back bakers twine. There are  whole lots of stamps and embellishments and matching punches included in this suite. The reeting is from a new stamp set I won in Prize Patrol called You're So Lovely.

Stampin Up On Stage / Occasions Catalogue 2016 sneak peeks. It's My Party suite. Claire Day Australia.

I'm also totally in love with the new Botanical Gardens Product Suite. LOVE the colours, but the Framelits are amazing as well. They are the most detailed botanical framelits we have ever had and I love the fern bits and pieces included as well. One cool detail is that the stamps actually coordinate exactly with the size of the images on the DSP as well, so you can stamp details on the leaves and flowers on the paper. There are some great 3D effects happening with the framelits too.

Stampin' Up! Santa's Gifts Watercoloured Christmas Cards

Santa's Gifts stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Holiday Catalogue is a great set if you like to water colour. I do, I find it so very relaxing. Here's a couple of recent cards I created with this stamp set.

Stampin Up Santas Gifts reindeer 2015 Christmas card by Claire Daly SU Demo Australia.

Isn't this reindeer image super cute? I just love him and a Real Red Candy Dot makes the perfect nose as well. I'm really enjoying using the Snowflake Embellishments on my 2015 Christmas cards as well. I love the raw colour of them with Crumb Cake cardstock and they are great to layer other embellishments on top of as well.

Cosy Christmas Reindeer close up

My second Santa's Gift card uses the Santa and bird image. I LOVE that this set is Photopolymer as it allows you to easily line images up where you want them.

Stampin Up Santa's Gifts 2015 Christmas Card by Claire Daly SU Demo Australia

I've added a bit of sparkle to the trims on Santa's coat and hat by adding Dazzling Diamonds with a Two Way Glue Pen. It adds a nice sparkle along with the adhesive rhinestones. The greeting for this card is from the Oh What Fun tag photopolymer stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Reason for the Season Vintage Hand-made Christmas Card

Hello friends. I hope this finds you well and happy. Today I have a vintage style Christmas card for you using the Reason for the Season stamp set from the 2015 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. I love the poinsettia's in this set, as well as the vintage fonts.

Stampin' Up! Reason for the Season Christmas Card 2015 by Claire Daly Australia

Here's some tips for recreating this card at home:

  • The Poinsettia is water-coloured in Real Red and Old Olive and I created 3 layers and popped Dimensionals in between each layer to give the card extra dimension.
  • My cardstock colours are Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Crumb Cake.
  • The 'A Merry Christmas to You' greeting in this set fits perfectly into the Decorative Label punch.
  • The center of my Poinsettia is made using Gold Glitz Dazzling Details.
  • Make creating tags super easy by using the tag topper punches (we have 2 types) and the Triple Layer Banner punch which makes banner ends a breeze.
  • Inked edges, ripped paper, tea lace doileys, linen thread and crochet trim all add to the vintage look.
  • The Home for Christmas DSP is perfect for vintage style Christmas cards - I LOVE this music notes sheet from the pack.

Awht blog hop start

It's time to show you how clever the girls in my team are! We have lots of lovely friendly dies who love to create and share the Stampin' Up! journey with you. Today we are sharing creations from the 2015 Holiday Catalogue, with lots of Christmas crafting goodies.

My card uses Sleigh Ride Edgelits and I have to tell you it was inspired by a very lovely international demo friend of mine, Amy Koenders.

Stampin Up handmade / diy Cristmas card using Sleigh ride edgelits and Jingle all the way Stamp set. Cased from Amy Koenders :)

Aren't these dies amazing? They are so intricate, but I still found they cut out great with just my metallic plate even with the glimmer paper.

Stampin Up handmade / diy Cristmas card using Sleigh ride edgelits and Jingle all the way Stamp set. Cased from Amy Koenders :)

The Edgelits also have a matching stamp set, which I really like because the words are curved, to match the curves in the dies. It's called Jingle All The Way. You can buy the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way Stamp set in a bundle as well and save 15% (Item 140862 for clear mount and item  140861 for wood mount).

Jingle all the way

Stampin' Up! All Ye Faithful Christmas Card

I very rarely use Night of Navy cardstock, but I liked how it looked with the Whisper White and Silver on this Christmas card using the new All Ye Faithful stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Holiday Catalogue. I really like the nativity scenes in this stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Christmas card using All Ye Faithful from 2015 Holiday Catalogue. Claire Daly, Melbourne Australia at www.clairedaly.typepad.com

This would be a pretty easy card to make a batch of for Christmas. Here's a quick breakdown of the pieces (links to all products in bold are at the end of the post).

  • A standard C6 card in Night of Navy (landscape side fold)
  • A piece of Holiday's Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (the silver one) 6 inches x 1 inch and the Triple Banner Punch used on one end.
  • A piece of the snowflake design from Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper 6 inches x 1.5 inches and the Tripe Banner punch used on one end.
  • A 2.5 inch circle punched from Whisper White which is where you silver emboss the image
  • Half a large Silver Metallic Doily
  • An extra strip of cardstock 1/2" wide to silver emboss the greeting onto (use the Banner Punch or easy banner ends).
  • A Winter Wonderland Embellishment

Bright and happy birthday card using Stampin' Up! Remarkable You

The sun is shining here in Melbourne today, and it's a bright 27C day, so how about a bright happy card to start the week? I love my garden and flowers, so Remarkable You was one of the stamp sets I "needed" from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

Remarkable You 2b

The base card is Cucumber Crush, one of this years in colours. I have embossed it with the Lovely Lace embossing folder. My floral image is water-coloured with an Aqua-painter and Watermelon Wonder ink from the inside of the ink pad. Love these colours together. All products are linked at the end of the post.

Remarkable You 2

Stamping Tips for Today's Card:

  • Our watercolor paper is great quality and that really makes a difference when you are shading with an Aqua-painter and ink. I colour the whole image and then go over and over to add more colour. As the paper is high quality, you don't get any paper peeling off from overworking it.
  • I've just popped the flower section up with a couple of Dimensionals - the stem was just adhered with Snail.
  • To cut the shimmer edge, I used the Circles Framelits. Cut the small circle out first and then the larger around it. The black and white script paper is the same size as the large circle.
  • The sentiment set I have used today is Happy Happenings. It's one on my favourites from the Annual Catalogue. Covers lots of different sentiments and fits some punches too.

Happy Happenings

Here's the gorgeous Remarkable You set. Available in wood mount or clear mount (links at end of post).

Stampin' Up! Christmas card featuring Wonderland stamp set

Another Christmas card today, this one featuring the Wonderland stamp set and Boughs & Berries embossing folder from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Holiday Catalogue.

Wonderland 1

I'm a big fan of this stamp set. I love the tall pine images and the greetings are so peaceful. I have added a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds to the trees using a 2 Way Glue Pen. The sky is sponged in Mint Macaron and the trees stamped in Mossy Meadow (I stamped 2 times without reinking). My embellishment is one of the new Iced Rhinestones, adhered on top of a new Snowflake Element. My background embossed layer is Always Artichoke, on a Mint Macaron card base.

Here's a closer look at the Wonderland Stamp Set. You can view and purchase any of the products I have used today by clicking the links at the end of the post. I'm happy to take orders by phone or email too. You can contact me HERE.

You wont regret purchasing this stamp set, it's one of my most used Christmas sets already!

Masking Technique using Stampin' Up! Garden in Bloom

It's not often I create a one layer card (well, technically it's a one layer card front), but I wanted to show off the lovely Garden in Bloom two step stamp set, and the Masking technique was perfect for this card. So simple, but effective I think.

Masking

Stamping Tips for a great masked result:

  • One of the keys to a great masked card is having a well defined edge to the masked area. I find using paper (grid paper is perfect) to mask off the area works better than cardstock for that purpose.
  • Grid paper is also perfect for lining everything up straight when you have a straight masked area like I have used here. Here's a picture of my set up before stamping.

  Masking 1

  •  I also find sponging a little over the masked edge gives great definition too.

Here's the colour combination I used on today's card:

The Garden in Bloom stamp set is a great set to add to your collection. It's Photopolymer, so really easy to line up. It's great for two step stamping, but you can also use the outline stamps just by themselves. You can check out this and all the other products I have used in today's card by scrolling through the links at the end of the post.

To make it easier for you, here are the measurements and steps to make this card:

  3. The tag is a piece of Shimmery White cardstock (for some extra Christmas sparkle) which is 2" x 5". The Ornate Tag Topper Punch has been used on the top end.
  4. The Greeting piece is 1/2" x 4" and the banner ends are made with the Banner Punch.
  5. The image and greeting are both silver embossed.
  6. The tag is adhered with Snail or Fast Fuse, the greeting banner with Dimensionals,

Peeking through the window at Christmas using Stampin' Up! Hearth and Home Thinlits

I LOVED these new Hearth and Home Thinlits as soon as I saw them. I can see they will be so versatile. Today I have used them for a Christmas card with Wonderland stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Holiday catalogue.

Wonderland 3

To create the scene behind the window, I stamped the trees in Mossy Meadow three times without re-inking the stamp. I then sponged in the sky using Mint Macaron ink. Then I covered the whole panel with Versamark and Heat and Stick Powder, and poured on Dazzling Diamonds glitter while that was still molten. After shaking off the excess Dazzling Diamonds, just give the panel a quick burst of heat for about 10 seconds (don't overdo this step) to heat set it.

Wonderland 3b

I've used some other lovely new Holiday catalogue goodies here too. You can have a closer look at these products by clicking on the links at the end of the post. I have used the Softly Falling embossing folder, Christmas Greetings Thinlits for the word (found this a breeze to cut out with the new Precision Plate. The Thinlit literally fell off the foil paper), wooden snowflake embellishments and Wonderland metal embellishments.
